1-1 last night with the tips for a slight loss. The Bruins easily beat the battered up Hurricanes, but the Jets just could not take control of the game against Calgary. It was an intense game where the Winnipeg Jets unfortunately lost in a shootout.
Lot of hockey tonight – 10 games and a lot of interesting ones. Buffalo seem to like to upset the apple cart – can they do that against the St Louis Blues? Boston got a nice road victory last night to stop their recent bad run on the road – but now they’re in New York, taking on the Rangers. Blackhawks vs Avs promises to be a good game, as does Tampa vs LA with two key players out.
Yep, lot of hockey and I’m looking forward to it. Let’s get to it.
Avalanche vs Blackhawks: Over 5.5
Really great odds here of 2.00 on the Over 5.5 line. Must admit I was expecting a 6 line for this game. Both teams have been scoring like crazy with Hawks shooting 3.57 and Avs 3.10 for the season on average. Colorado have lost their way a bit the last few games, and Duchene out just makes it all the worse for the Avalanche.
Chicago however are still firing in the goals, and we like the Avs to make a game of it. We like both teams to get the goals going here in a fast paced matchup, and are betting Over 5.5 goals.
Kings vs Lightning: LA To Win
Fair warning: the LA Kings have screwed us twice recently. We bet the Islanders to beat them and they came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2, and we bet the Devils against them and despite being without Quick they managed to shut them out. We stayed the hell away from them on the 17th where they racked up another big win, over the New York Rangers – and another shutout.
The first time these two teams played, Tampa hammered LA 5-1. The Lightning are without Stamos however while the Kings are seemingly having no problem with Quick being away, and Scrivens has been a beast in goal.
Blue Jackets vs Oilers: Blue Jackets to Win
Have to back the Blue Jackets here at 1.90 odds. Bryzgalov has been recalled but isn’t playing yet, so that wild card doesn’t factor in here. Oilers are coming off a big win against the Flames – but that doesn’t change the fact that they are still unfortunately piss-poor; especially at home where they’ve failed to win a game in regulation time.
Blue Jackets have been playing well lately, taking Montreal, Boston and Capitals to OT plus a nice road win against Ottawa 2 days ago. Foligno is hot right now as is Umberger, Dubinsky and Johansen. Dubnyk had a fair amount of saves against the Flames, but I like the Blue Jackets to get the win here with their hot offense, and have the Oilers fans begging for Bryzgalov by the end of the night.
