After the tragic events that took place in Ottawa yesterday, the game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators was postponed for obvious reasons.

And being Canadian I found it very respectful of the game between the Flyers vs Penguins to sing the Canadian National Anthem before their game. That’s one thing about sports in general. You may hate each other on the ice, court or field but off of it we are all the same and its a strong community not only by the players but also the fans.

Ok let’s talk about last night. We went 1-1 with the tips.

Our win came when the Ducks beat the Sabres 4-1 highlighted by a Corey Perry hat trick. The Ducks scored the first two goals and didn’t look back.

Our loss came when we had the Penguins to win in regulation. The Flyers looked great in this game and in the end the came out on top 5-3.

The other game of the night was the Capitals vs Oilers. This was good game which saw the Oilers win 3-2 to pick up their second win of the season and put together a 2 game win streak.

8 games scheduled for tonight and some big ones to keep an eye on also. #1 & #2 in the Central square off when the Preds take on the Blackhawks, Canucks vs Blues where Miller takes on his former team and Wings take on the Penguins.

Let’s get to the NHL tips for Thursday October 23rd

Penguins vs Red Wings Betting Tips

The Wings never seem to show their age despite the fact that most of the best players are north of 30. Year after year they manage to stay competitive. They have gotten at least a point in 5 of their 6 games so far this season.

The Penguins played last night and lost to their rivals the Flyers so they will be looking to bounce back.

With the exception of Franzen the Wings are healthy where the Penguins are healthy except for Bennett.

Like the Penguins to come back to life in this game

Hurricanes vs Flames Betting Tips

The Flames continue to surprise me. They have beat some strong teams and the games that they have lost they managed to keep close. They lost their last game to the strong Tampa Bay Lightning team but they took it to OT.

The Hurricanes are having a rough and terrible start to the season. They haven’t yet won a game and their best players are hurt. Skinner just came back so that’s a start but the Stall brothers, Eric and Jordan, are both on the injured reserve.

I like the home team Flames to take advantage of a banged up Carolina team

Islander vs Bruins Betting Tips

Could be a high scoring game here.

The Isles are pretty banged up at the moment where the have 4 regulars on the IR and 2 listed as day to day. The Bruins are healthy

The Islanders opened the season on a 4 game win streak only to lose their next two game to the Maple Leafs and Penguins.

The Bruins are a pain in the ass to play against and shouldn’t have a problem winning his game

Bet the Bruins In Regulation for 1.91
