We went 2-1 with our consensus picks yesterday, and our lone WHL Betting Tip also won for a good night.

It was a crazy night of hockey with a lot of insane high scoring games. One of our consensus picks was the Tampa Bay Lightning and much like against the Red Wings – they went down early only to come back and get the win.

We also had the Sharks to beat the Blue Jackets and they looked extremely solid in doing so.

We had the Jets to defeat the Wild and Winnipeg were up 2-0 at the end of the 1st. Unfortunately they took their foot off the gas at that point and couldn’t really get going again. Considering that was a big underdog pick however we can’t be too upset.

Some amazing hockey overall lsat night. Flames lost yet again while the Avalanche had a thrilling game against the Stars. The Blackhawks secured their first win of the season and the Coyotes got a nice W in OT against the Flyers.

We’ve got a more relaxed schedule today. Let’s get to it – only one consensus pick which we’ll start with.

Oilers vs Sabres Betting Tips:

Graeme: I’m not fully buying into the Oilers yet. There’s the usual hype after just 2 games but you have to remember it’s the Edmonton Oilers. The Calgary Flames offense didn’t look too hot against the Canucks yet they have put 7 goals past the Oilers in just 2 games. That’s a big red flag. Despite all that, the Oilers offense, particularly McDavid, are firing on all cylinders at the moment and the Buffalo offense looked flat against the Habs. I’m taking Oilers in regulation at 2.02 odds which feels like a nice price.

Scott: The Sabres are going to have some problems scoring with all of their injuries.  Eichel, Okposo and Kane are all out so that’s 3 of their top 6 forwards.  Okposo may be ready to go for this one but that’s still up in the air.

The Oilers are rolling right now.  They’re 2-0 and have been scoring with ease hitting 7 goals in game 1 and 5 in game 2.  McDavid is living up to the hype as he has 6 points through those 2 games.

I like the Oilers chances in this one but the question is by how many goals will they win?

Ducks vs Islanders Betting Tips:

Graeme: The Ducks have had two tough games to begin the season and are now 0-2. The Islanders can relate with losses against the Capitals and Rangers. I’ve absolutely no idea who will win this one. It’s tough because there are solid goalis in this one but with both teams being desperate, I think Over 5 is my play here.

Scott: Both teams are still looking for their first win of the season.  The Ducks lost to the Stars and the Penguins, the Isles lost to the the Rangers and the Capitals.  So all of the losses so far for these 2 teams have come against some solid competition. One team will get their first victory of the year but it’s tough to call which one. No Bet

Hurricanes vs Canucks Betting Tips:

Graeme: Early in the season is still tough to really guage the strength of a team, especially two teams that have played just 1 game. I did like the battling performance of the Hurricanes against the Jets – but they’re favoured at 1.80 or above and I can’t tip them. No Bet.

Scott: The Hurricanes blew a 4-1 lead to the Jets who came back and won 5-4 in OT.  The Canucks  played last night against the Flames and won 2-1 in a shootout.  The goal the Flames had wasn’t so much a goal as it was a blunder by the Canucks.   With the goalie pulled for an extra attacker before a penalty  Eriksson misplayed the puck which then rolled into their own empty net.

I can’t predict this game so I’m staying away from it

was really thinking also of the oilers… the OHL still going to take a look

hoping for another good night

I think the canes offers some value, saw the canucks and flames and it was an aweful game

I like Oilers -1.5 @ +175. they are scoring goals in bunches and Buffalo won’t be able to keep up the pace. $20 wins $35

That was one we were debating. Thing is with it being early we don’t know how good/bad the Flames offense is. It’s really tough to tell and Oilers were just leaking goals like crazy against them. Decided to err on the side of caution.

We call it gambling for a reason

what a horrible night , with talbot playing like a clown -_- and the canes again letting another 3 goal lead away lol

One part of our research each day is looking through forums/reddit etc for that particular team. Always a great day getting little tidbits etc and it was amazing seeing all the people defending Talbot saying “It was only one game don’t judge him”, as if the two Flames games didn’t happen.

vs the flames he wasnt too hot but of course he can do better than that. In my opinion he isnt a bad goalie but yesterday nothing would go right, even with the goalie trade they had to switch again. the net look like a deamon for the oilers hehe
