Some big results yesterday in the playoffs.

The Jets goaltending has went to pot. That is what they had going for them going into the playoffs, and with a 5-1 thrashing by the Blues, that is a real concern.

Canes stepped it up and beat the Devils 3-1 as they look for a Gentleman’s sweep. Caps vs Canadiens was a banger but Washington showed their experience and got the big 5-2 victory.

Oilers/Kings went to OT with Edmonton pulling out the win.

As mentioned yesterday – going forward if we don’t have a bet for a game – as it is very hard for a lot of them – we are going to do a player prop instead. They won’t be anything we count in the stats – just want to get SOME sort of action going on.

Panthers vs Lightning Game 4

Scott: The Panthers were up 2-0 in the series and had it move to their home ice for two game. After scoring only 2 goals across the forst two games the Lightning scored 5 times in game 3.

Vasilevskiy had his best game of the playoffs so far and if he is to catch fire then the Lightning have a shot as he can win a game or a series by himself.

I think that with them getting that first win they should be flying and I like the Lightnings chances to tie it up here.

Graeme: Yeah I mean I said it last time – looks to be one of those bizarro series. I’m happy to bet Tampa incl OT primarily due to that. Also as Scott mentioned, solid performance by Vasy as the Panthers had their highest xGF and CF/60 etc of the series. HDCF of 17 too. So gotta back that and hope he continues.

Stars vs Avalanche Game 5

Scott: The Avalanche won with ease in game 4. They more than doubled the Stars shot count. In the 2nd alone they outshot them 22-5.

Landeskog scored his first goal which was his first since June of 2022. The chased Oettinger from the goal after he allowed 3 goals.

With them shutting out the Stars, chasing Oettinger and Landeskog coming back I think the Avalanche are in a good spot here.

Avalanche win incl OT

Ontario: 1.77 Odds at TonyBet
Canada: 1.77 Odds at TonyBet
USA: -138 Odds at BetOnline.
Everyone Else: 1.71 Odds at Bet365 (Americans: We recommend http://www.bovada.lv

Graeme: I’m going to release the first player prop. I think the Stars after that loss will start fast and they’ll be aiming to pepper the net with shots. Avs also look like they are ticking quite well, which usually results in more shots so I’ll go with Mackenzie Blackwood Over 23.5 Saves incl OT.

No real scientific approach to this – I mean at times there is definitely science and data to apply to it. Just more want to get the ball rolling and hey – that reasoning SOUNDS good to me at least.

Ontario: 1.80 Odds at Bet365 (Americans: We recommend http://www.bovada.lv
Canada: 1.80 Odds at Bet365 (Americans: We recommend http://www.bovada.lv

you are confirming my sentiments on these games as well… Tampa Bay’s shots on goal have been consistent so far all series,,,

is that about to explode and change? I don’t know BUT looking like Bobrovski under 22.5 saves is quite possible here? I probably won’t pull the trigger and bet it though… LOL

Florida – Tampa

The rivalry between Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning in the ongoing series took on a new dimension after the third meeting, in which the Lightning managed to break the winning streak of the Panthers. The hosts of this clash have consistently implemented a strategy of opening matches quickly and are the first to find the way to the opponent’s goal in each match of the series.

Andrei Vasilevskiy showed in the third match why he is considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world. The statistics speak for themselves and 33 saved shots and only one conceded goal give an impressive efficiency of 97%.

This is a radical improvement compared to the first two matches of the series. Sergei Bobrovsky, who was a rock in the Panthers goal in the first two matches, clearly dropped in the third match.

Tie in regular time .
