A rare bad night last night in the playoff betting tips, as we went 0-2.

In the early game, we picked the Habs to beat the Lightning. Montreal out-shot the Lightning 31-19, but were on the losing side with a goal scored right at the wire. It was a disappointing game from Montreal, who after tieing it up seemed to lose the confidence to wrap the game up. Tyler Johnson continues his impressive run in the playoffs and has really been the star of the whole playoffs at this point.

In the other game – holy crap, Washington! The Capitals went 1-0 down but came back to win 2-1 and go up 3-1 in that series. It was another tight game there – and going to be very interesting to see if Capitals can wrap it up. It was a tremendous night for the rookie Andre Burakovsky.

Two games tonight. Let’s get to it:

Habs vs Lightning Betting Tips:

Scott: Much like the Wild, the Habs need to find a way to score. When taking on the high scoring Lightning, 4 goals over the first 3 games isn’t going to cut it. A win tonight would take the series back to Montreal where hopefully they can get their shit together. Habs Win for 2.40

Graeme: I don’t know what to think. Every game has been tight in terms of the play. But it’s just not going Montreals way at all. Some of the players are self-destructing, and they can’t score worth a lick at the moment. I think it’s done and dusted tonight. I can’t see them picking themselves up. Hopefully I’m wrong. Unfortunately 1.65 odds is the best I see for Lightning and I don’t think it’s worth a play. Half unit bet on Lightning regulation.

Blackhawks vs Wild Betting Tips:

Scott: With their backs against the wall, the Wild need to find a way to score and fast. They scored 3 goals in game 1, 1 in game 2 and zero in game 3. The Wild have put lots of shots on net, but Crawford has come up big time. As much as I want the Hawks to win tonight and complete the sweep, I think the Wild take tonight’s game. Wild Win for 1.83 odds.

Graeme: I’ve watched every game in this series – and I just can’t see the Wild coming back. Game 1 was the time to pick up a win after that epic comeback. Game 3 was the time as well. Neither has happened. It’s a 50/50 clash possibly and I’d take the Blackhawks with slight value at 2.10 odds at http://www.5Dimes.eu for Americans(Need to register to see lines) and and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else..

No disrespect to the Habs or Wild (both had great seasons) but I think it’s pretty well ‘lights out’ for both of the them. The question is which game? Game 4 or 5? If you pick the Habs and Wild and they lose, you have no chance to make it up in the next game. If you pick the Bolts & Hawks there’s two scenarios. Win both picks tonight and if they lose make it up in Game 5. Of course, you can wait hope the Habs & Wild win pick the Bolts & Hawks in Game 5 and make a better payoff. Decisions decisions. 🙂 Enjoy the games and good luck!
