The consensus picks went 1-1 last night, but Scott racked up a nice 3-1 night as the Tampa Bay Lightning got the win, winning our Lightning -1.5 bet and getting us off to a profitable start in the series betting predictions.

Tampa Bay beat the Detroit Red Wings 1-0 to finish off their series. The Anaheim Ducks also got a huge win against the Predators to regain their home ice advntage.

The Pittsburgh Penguins obliterated the New York Rangers 5-0 and you have to wonder if that series is done. It’s going to be hard for the Rangers to come back.

Graeme had no bet in it but Scott went with his Blackhawks and they delivered in a fashion we’re all familiar with – winning in multiple overtimes. A huge win for the Blackhawks who now return to Chicago for Game 6. What an amazing goal that was by Patrick Kane.

4 games on the board tonight – all game 5s. Let’s get to them:

Flyers vs Capitals Game 5 Betting Tips:

Graeme: After their shenanigans in Game 3, I’m surprised the Flyers were able to pull off the win in Game 4. I just can’t see Neuvirth pulling off the same heroics. Capitals in regulation.

Scott: The Caps can finish the series tonight.  Even though they won the last game, the Flyers haven’t really been able to beat Holtby who has allowed only 4 goals in the 4 games in the series.  But the Caps at home should close this out tonight.

Capitals in regulation

Islanders vs Panthers Game 5 Betting Tips:

Graeme: It was a massive win for the Panthers last time out to tie up the series. The Islanders are battling well but watching the 4th game I just really liked everything the Panthers were doing. I’m taking Panthers win here.

Scott: These teams have traded wins and the series is tied at 2 making it a best of 3 series.  This has been a close series with 3 of the 4 games being decided by a goal.  If the trend continues tonight then the Isles will win.  But I can’t tip that as this game is too close to call.  2 of the 4 have gone over 5 so I’m going with over for this one

Over 5

Quick Note for Americans: For Euro 2016 Betting, go toBovada who offer a 50% to $250 bonus and the best markets for Euro 2016.

Wild vs Stars Game 5 Betting Tips:

Graeme: The Stars just can’t take their foot off the gas. I loved the game on Wednesday and how seriously the Stars took the Wilds power plays. That’s the sort of thing that they need to step up on. Their rotating goalies situation is something that seems to be working out for them too – sometimes that affects confidence in a negative way but if anything it’s empowering them. Have to go with Stars in regulation as they continue their home streak.

Scott The Stars lead the series 3-1 after bouncing back and winning the last game 3-2.  The Stars are at home where they have won 9 straight and can finish the series off tonight.  I like their chances.

Stars in regulation

Sharks vs Kings Game 5 Betting Tips:

Scott: The Sharks have a strangle hold on this series and are up 3-1. They now are back on the road for this game where they have been unreal and can move on to the 2nd round with a win. I would say the Kings win this game but I am not sure with how well the Sharks play on the road. I have no idea how this game is going to go. No Bet.

Graeme: The Sharks got a huge win last time out and with how good they are on the road, plus the odds here – win or lose, I think Sharks to win in this one is one of the most obvious bets we’ve seen yet in the playoffs. I just can’t ignore their road form.

Quick Note for Americans: For Euro 2016 Betting, go toBovada who offer a 50% to $250 bonus and the best markets for Euro 2016.

How come ? I went for the Sharks in regulation in the first 2 games and have them winning the series as well. Been rooting for Blues-Sharks WCF for a few months now.

Then again im not sure what i’ve posted here. At times i take a break from posting and those could be the nights where i bet against the Kings.

Sorry if it seems that way lol, interesting observation.

Arto Reinikainen

That being said, here’s an interesting stat:

“Since 2013, the Kings have been involved in 9 games in which they could be eliminated in that time–Including 5 against the Sharks–and have only lost 1, to the eventual cup champion Blackhawks.”

Sharks have a mountain to climb tonight. Im fully expecting the Kings to play their best game of the series in front of their fans, and i had that mindset before seeing this stat.

Arto Reinikainen

I guess the Sharks are winning the cup ;D

John

I will put money for them on all their road games

I dont know.
Until now all my play off prediction was results of moment inspiration. Not statistics, not players form, nothing. Only inspiration. And if you look at my previous predictions i have a good rate.

John

I got a feeling that really few games went to overtime during playoff 2016…Does someone have some stats from the previous years?

John

Playoff 2013 : 17 in overtime of those came in Round One, outstripping last year’s record-breaking total of 16 in the first round
