2 series are over with already in the NHL playoffs, as the Tampa Bay Lightning and Pittsburgh Penguins both got eliminated. Both teams were swept.

The Tampa one was obviously a big shock but in retrospect, the Penguins one really wasn’t a surprise. While it’s a surprise that they got swept, this was a team that had many issues throughout the season they couldn’t seem to shake, and it all came to a head in the playoffs.

The Winnipeg Jets tied their series up 2-2 while the Vegas Golden Knights came one step closer to the next round. Fleury pulled off a shutout as the Knights won 5-0. The teams now return to California, where the Sharks will be hoping home ice helps out.

Three games tonight and no series will be decided tonight as all three series sit at 2-1.

Let’s get to it:

Leafs vs Bruins Game 4 Betting Tips:

Scott: The Leafs beat the Bruins in game 3 but what is better news for the Leafs is that Matthews scored his first goal of the playoffs. If he gets going thats only going to cause problems for the Bruins.

But the Bruins are a good team and I expect a good bounce back from them. I was thinking about going with the over but its 6 and each game has hit only 5 so a little nervous about that.

I have so many questions about this game. With Matthews scoring and the Leafs still at home do they take advantage and keep rolling? The Bruins face going down 3-1 so do they put out a crazy effort to even the series. I still expect this series to go the distance so I’ll go with the Bruins.

Graeme: It was a much better performance from the Leafs in Game 3. Both teams had the chances though and this is going to be a tight game. Very nice to see Matthews score – if only so the Canadian media can stop going on about his contributions.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Bruins up the aggression again. Leafs will hopefully fight hard in this one to take a 3-1 lead to Boston. Bruins top line didn’t do the business in the last game and that’ll be a concern for them.

I could go either way on this one. No Bet

Predators vs Stars Game 4 Betting Tips:

Scott: The Stars lost their last game which was their first playoff game at home since 2016. The Preds lead 2-1 thanks to Rinne’s strong play.

This series has been a close one so far with each game being decided by a single goal and one of the games needing overtime.

I think I’ll avoid a tip for this game as its been such an even matchup so far.

Graeme: It’s only three games in but the Predators are already giving me that vibe of a team who just feel like they’ll backdoor it into the playoffs. They’re still struggling to score. They relied heavily on Rinne in the last game. I can see them at least getting to the next round with similar results.

The Stars performance being at home for the first time in the playoffs was disappointing and their power play unit just isn’t performing.

I’d like to take the under but 5 is such an ugly line. No Bet

Flames vs Avalanche Game 4 Betting Tips:

Scott: The Flames got their asses kicked in game 3 and I expect that to wake them up. Makar had a great debut for the Avs becoming just the 7th player in NHL history to score a goal in the playoffs in his NHL debut.

The Flames have now lost 8 playoff road games in a row dating back to 2015. They need to fix this and now or face heading back to Calgary down 3-1 with game 5 back in Colorado.

Flames win incl OT/SO – 0.5u

Graeme: A massive 6-2 win for the Avs saw them take the series 2-1. Again – props to the Avs. After Game 1 it was easy to write them off. Calgary had a ton of great chances in Game 3 but weren’t able to capitalize.

Avs offense is confident and they can be streaky. Flames know they have to leave it all on the ice tonight. As we’ve learned during the regular season, Flames know they can’t rely on their goaltending or defense. 0.5u on Over 6 Goals
