No tips yesterday. The Wild got the big win they were hoping for, and the Oilers also got a nice win over the Avs.

The Senators got the road victory over the Jackets in OT.

It’s the last big Saturday in the NHL regular season. We are one week away from it ending and then the playoffs begin. I cannot wait.

Let’s see if there is anything worth playing today (one play – Panthers/Leafs over)

Sabres vs Islanders:

Sabres come in with a 3 game winning run one of which we backed – but I mean it’s the Devils & Flyers. Islanders I think the magic is wearing off and not a fan of them on the road anyway. Easy skip.

Devils vs Canes:

Canes with two wins in a row against the Coyotes and Jets. Figure they will maybe want to do a nice push for the next week. The amount of goals they are conceding is concerning me though.

The way they came back against the Jets though was good to see.

I think Canes in regulation is probably fine here. I’m just a bit hesitant to advise with the Devils racking up some good results in the last couple of weeks. Devils only have three home games left so you’d expect extra effort as well. I do like Canes in reg though. This was close to a bet as I do feel like they are going to play hard and go strong into the playoffs.

Red Wings vs Penguins:

Would have to be Pens -1.5. No thanks.

Bruins vs Rangers:

Boston come in struggling big time. Rangers on a great run with three shutouts. On paper, the Rangers are solid value here. Thing is it’s not against the best teams that they’ve been winning. Boston are beatable but I’ve seen the Rangers blow spots like this in the past.

Lightning vs Predators:

Would have to be Tampa in regulation and I don’t have enough confidence in them to back that. Incredibly inconsistent. Plus it’s the bizarro Preds.

Panthers vs Leafs:

On paper this will be a banger of a game. We just saw that earlier this month as it was a 13 goal thriller.

Leafs will be motivated to come back strong from that Tampa game. Panthers are generally scoring goals for fun.

Panthers going for a 13th victory in a row. Yeah I think you have two teams who want to win here, who play very offensive hockey, and the over is fine.

Often when a team gets battered like the Leafs did, they close up ranks the following game but I mean the Leafs just don’t have the goaltending to do that. They will likely just aim to score more than Florida.

Everyone Else: 1.80 Odds at Bet365 (Americans: We recommend http://www.bovada.lv

(Odds correct as of 2022/04/23 7:25:42 AM EST but are subject to change.)

Senators vs Canadiens:

My god the Habs are so terrible right now. Sens would have to be in regulation and not enough confidence.

Stars vs Kraken:

Stars -1.5 would have to be the play. It will not be a play due to their inability to cover that in previous games.

Sharks vs Blackhawks

No play here. Just two dumpster fires.

Coyotes vs Blues

Would have to be Blues -2.5 and no thanks.

Flames vs Canucks

I hope the Canucks get absolutely destroyed. Flames probably do the job. Would have to be the -1.5. Despite the Canucks blowing their playoff hopes they have had some good results. Mathematically they can still get in and that little bit of hope is enough to put me off this one.

Kings vs Ducks

These two just played and I always avoid those. Kings probably get the job done.

The four obvious favorites I’ll try two of.
To WIN on the puckline: St. Louis
To WIN 2nd Period moneyline: St. Louis
To WIN moneyline: Calgary
Full game OVER 5.0: Calgary/Canucks

Problem with LA and Dallas is they don’t overwhelm with offense, so should win, but not putting money on them. A Dallas win today and Dallas knows it’s probably the last straw that breaks Vegas’ chances of making the playoffs. That should provide the highest level of motivation for Dallas so far this season. It’s only Seattle. I’m talking myself into betting it.
