I will be covering who I think will win the Central Divison in this article.

There is a clear cut favorite to win the Central but this is the NHL and anything can happen.

There are 8 teams in the Central Divison. We’ll cover the average odds below and then give you the best odds for each team.

Central Divsion Winner Betting Odds

  1. Avalanche – 1.40
  2. Wild – 8.20
  3. Stars – 9.00
  4. Blues – 13.00
  5. Jets – 15.00
  6. Blackhawks – 21.00
  7. Predators – 39.00
  8. Coyotes – 151.00

Central Divison Winner Betting Tips

The Colorado Avalanche are our pick to win the Central Divison.

The won the Presidents Trophy last year for the first time in 20 years despite dealing with 2 Covid shutdowns which cause a break in their momentum.

This team has one of the best offenses in the league and their top 7 scorers from last season return.  MacKinnon between Landeskog and Rantanen are a money line.  With Kadri, Burakovsky and Nichuskin a strong 2nd line.

On defense this team looks set for a while.  Makar was a Norris Trophy finalist who is joined by Devon Toews, Byram, Girard and the newly acquired Ryan Murray.

Only questions I have about this team is their goalie situation.  They lost Grubauer to the Kraken and quickly went and overpaid for Kuemper.  If he and Francouz can stay healthy then they will be fine.

We honestly don’t recommend betting this one though. The odds are brutal considering what a long season it is and how injuries can affect things.

Central Divison Winners Betting Analysis

Minnesota Wild

The Wild have a lot of people excited about them this year.  I’m not one of them.

Kirill Kaprizov is great and will only get better but he has only one season under his belt and players tend to have a down year after winning the Calder Trophy.   They still don’t have a true number one center.

On D they are led by captain Jared Spurgeon,  Matt Dumba and Jonas Brodin.  The lost some players on the back end and brought in Goligoski, Kulikov and Merrill to fill their spots.

Talbot was great in his first season as starter for the Wild but they have Kahkonen ready to take over the starting role and that will be something to watch this season.

Dallas Stars

The Stars still have some big names on their roster but some of their best players are coming to the end of their primes.

Seguin is still amazing and healthy and he and Hintz are a good one two punch down the middle.   But Benn, Radulov and Pavelski are getting older and a full 82 game season may wear them out.

Heiskanen, Klingberg, Lindell and Suter are one of the best defenses in the league on paper at least.

Khudobin is the starter but they brought in Braden Holtby who will push for the starting role.

St. Louis Blues

The Blues got swept in the first round of last year’s playoffs, two years after winning the Stanley Cup.  They have some work to do to get back to where they were.

O’Reilly is still the main guy offensively and having Tarasenko have a bounce back year when he can stay healthy would help them big time. Perron and the newly acquired Saad and Buchnevich will add some much needed depth.

On defense the Blues need to get back to being one of the best in the league. Paraiso, Krug, Faulk, Scandella, on paper they could do that.

The biggest question this team has in goal.  If Binnington can return to his old form then the Blues can do some damage this year.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets are always a tough team to get a read on.

The have the offensive pieces that can get this team far.  Scheifele,  Connor and Wheeler are incredible.  Trading Laine helped give Ehlers and Copp bigger opportunities and they broke out.  Is Dubois can refind his game then they are set.

Defense needed work and they addressed it adding Schmidt and Dillon who join Pionk and Morrissey to four a solid top four.

In goal Hellebuyck is one of the best in the league.  He is going to play a bunch as they lack a true backup goalie.

Chicago Blackhawks

This is another team who will be hard to predict this year.

They have supposed to get Toews back which will help them.  Kane is still in his prime, DeBrincat is a player and Dach has the potential to become a new member of the Hawks core.

Keith is gone, Seabrook is gone and this year they have Seth Jones, his brother Caleb and Jake McCabe to try and fill the shoes of two future hall of famers so those are some huge skates to fill.

Adding Fleury was a nice addition.  He has made the playoffs in each of his years in the NHL.  But will this version of the Hawks be able to keep that streak alive?

Nashville Predators

The Preds need to embrace a rebuild and soon.

What will they get from Johansen and Duchene?  Does Forsberg have another level to his game? Is there any depth at the forward position?

On defense they are still strong with Josi, Ekholm and Fabbro and adding Myers helps them too.

In goal they have Saros as their starter.  He is 5 foot 11.  Rinne was 6 foot 5 and covered a huge portion of the net and could see over traffic.

Arizona Coyotes

The Coyotes we moved from a weaker Pacific Divison to a stronger Central.

Keller is good and will continue to be. Kessel is getting older but can still score.  Adding Dzingel and Jaskin will give them some badly needed depth.

They lost Ekman-Larsson, Hjalmarrson and Goligoski but Chychrun looks ready to take the next step in his development.  Bringing in Gostisbehere and Stralman add some veteran help.

Hutton is the new starter after Kuemper left for the Avs.  Hutton had Abad year last season in Buffalo but was that all on him or the terrible Sabres team he played for?  I guess we will see soon enough.
