Hi guys,

Well we’re getting close to the NHL season kicking off. The pre-season has already started and we get to see the teams in action.

The NHL season kicks off for realsies as the kids say on October 8th, 2014. We’ve got 4 games that night – the Montreal Canadiens vs the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Philadelphia Flyers vs Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks vs Calgary Flames and finally the Stanley Cup Champions, the Los Angeles Kings, take on San Jose.

Not too much longer now!

Champions Hockey League, the major European League, is also back this week with Game Day 5 taking place over the 23rd-24th of September. The next time they play will be Game Day 6 on the 7th of October.

As a reminder with 4 games gone – the group winners qualify for the playoffs and then the top 5 runners up also qualify. So with 2 games left this is time for some teams to throw caution to the wind, others to try and get a lead then settle. Should be interesting.

Before I get onto this I just wanted to let you know that we are contributing betting tips to another website as well. The website is SportsBettingTips.org. That site covers a wide variety of sports, and they just this past week picked a 40/1 golf winner, a 12/1 golf winner as well as +670 in WWE Betting. So yeah all the tips are free so check them out.

Right – on with the CHL Tips and remember to bet these at Bovada(USA) orhttp://www.bet365.com (Everyone Else)..

CHL Betting Tips: Villach SV vs Geneve-Servette

Alternatively, they may be listed as VSV vs Servette GE.

Geneve-Servette lead Group C tied with Frolunda on 9 points, with Villach SV on 6. In the previous game Geneve-Servette won 4-2. Geneve-Servette are always involved in high scoring games winning or losing, with tallies of 7, 6, 10 and 9. Villach have had 2 games against superior opposition such as Geneve, and in both games it went over.

Geneve-Servette will probably get the win here – but I like the Over 5.5 goals. 1.72 is decent value.

Bet this at Bovada(USA) orhttp://www.bet365.com (Everyone Else)..

CHL Betting Tips: SC Bern vs Stavanger Oilers

A big game here. Both teams are in 5 points. We are surprised at the odds, which has Bern as massive favourites and Stavanger at 3.50 to win.

Bern were absolutely dominated by Ocelari Trinec 7-0 and 4-0, and struggled against Tappara. Stavanger meanwhile got a big win over Trinec on the road and battled well with them last time out.

This one Over 5.5 is a good bet at 1.88. But we’re going to be doing a value bet ourselves – Stavanger to win, 3.50 odds.

CHL Betting Tips: SaiPa Lappeenranta vs EV Zug

A big game between these two teams. If EV Zug win they will win the group. So Saipa need to win to stay in with a chance as a loss and I get the feeling they won’t qualify as best runner up.

Last time they met, SaiPa beat them 2-1. They are going into this game as favourites, and we think they deserve that tag.

We’re going to take them to win WITH the handicap. They looked great against ERC and we’re seeing a more cohesive team.

Bet Saipa -1.5 at Bovada(USA) orhttp://www.bet365.com (Everyone Else)..

ERC Ingolstadt – Vitkovice

Ingolstadt had an average start of the DEL season, after initial 2 losses they have added 2 victories. Their opponent Vitkovice is in a much better form, they are currently 2nd in Czech Extraliga with 4 victories out of 5 matches played. Tomorrow the teams will battle for 3rd place in the H group. The main reason why I will back up home team is becase away team is going on the road without many standard players – Szturc, Kovar, Strapac, Dolejs, Burger, Kana, Stencel, Stehlik, Huzevka… young players will get the chance instead. I think the odds will drop alot.

Pick: ERC Ingolstadt

Trinec – Tappara

Important match for Finnish team but interesting enough Tappara will start young goalie from youth team Dominik Hrachovina. Also some important missing players – defensemen Aalto and Mantyla. I’m a bit confused but according to their website it seems Kuusela and Peltola might play in defense. Anyway, the predicted lineup is pretty weakened. Trinec on the other side is first in the group. If they win tonight, they have secured playoffs spot so some motivation should also exist. If the lineup listed on their website is correct, they will play with their standard team so I think they should win this match.

Pick: Trinec
