We had one tip yesterday, the Islanders to beat the Rangers,  and they did winning 3-2 in overtime.   Kyle Palmieri opened the scoring for the Isles which was his first with his new team.

The Sabres beat the Flyers 5-3.  The Flyers we up 3-2 but the Sabres scored 3 unanswered to complete the comeback victory.  Man it must be tough to be a Flyers fan right now not only did they lose to the Sabres but they were also the team that lost to them to end their 18 game losing streak. Graeme said he liked over 1.5 goals in the 2nd period and that came in for anyone who bet that prop.

The Capitals beat the Bruins 8-1 and Ovechkin didn’t score despite taking 10 shots.  The Knights beat the Coyotes 1-0 and with the win Fleury tied, my favorite goalie, Ed Belfour for 4th on the all-time wins list with 484.  The Preds beat the Stars 3-2 in a shootout.   This was the 4th time in 7 meetings this season where the game needed extra time.

Today is the Trade Deadline, which is like Christmas morning for NHL fans, and there has already been some big moves made with plenty more to come.

The Avalanche got some much needed help in goal when they got Deven Dubnyk,  the Lightning picked up help on defense with David Savard, Braydon Coburn and Brian Lashoff.

The Leafs showed everyone that they are all in this year when they grabbed Nick Foligno and David Rittich. Rittich is a great goalie and makes me wonder how long Andersen is out for, Foligno can play anywhere and gives the already deep Leafs forward group more depth which makes them a scary group to play against.

The Penguins brought in Jeff Carter which was a good move for the Pens.   Carter has won two Cups and can still put up points and now that he has lots of talented teammates surrounding him he shouldn’t have a problem putting up numbers.

The Bruins got help on the backend when the brought in Mike Reilly and won the Taylor Hall sweepstakes.  The Bruins needed help on offense and the certainly got that with Hall.  Behind the perfection line they now have Hall to play with Krejci and whoever else they want.  This move is going to help the Bruins big time and I’m sure our friend SDB is loving it.

With all of the moves that have happened already and with many more happening today we feel it’s best to avoid having any tips until the dust has settled.
