We had only one tip yesterday and it was a loss.

I had went with the Lightning to win in regulation against the Predators but the Preds made me look like an idiot.  Nashville scored 3 times in the 1st and didn’t look back when they won 7-2.  McElhinney started for the Lightning and allowed 7 goals on 22 shots for an incredible .682 save percentage.  Coming into the game the Lightning had won the first 3 games in Nashville by a combined score of 13-2 and were tied for 1st overall with the Leafs and Avs for wins.  It sucks but I felt like it was the right tip to make. The Predators have now won 5 of their last 6 games.

The Flames beat the Leafs 3-2 in overtime and it was former Flames goalie Rittich who got the start for the Leafs.  Lucic played in his 1000th game and had an assist and a fight which was a perfect way for him to celebrate his achievement.

The Capitals beat the Flyers 6-1 and in his debut for the Caps Mantha scored and had an assist.  The Rangers beat the Devils 3-0 and it was Shesterkin picking up his first NHL shutout in the win.

The Bruins beat the Sabres 3-2 in a shootout and in his debut for the Bruins Hall took 3 shots.  The Panthers beat the Stars 3-2 in overtime and with the win the Panthers are tied with the Lightning and the Canes for 1st in the Central Divison.

6 games scheduled for us today.  Not much out there that looks good but did find one I liked.

Coyotes vs Wild

The Coyotes have lost their last 4 games, the Wild have lost their last 2.  On the road the Coyotes are 9-11-2 and the Wild are 14-4 at home.

The Wild have beat the Coyotes in their last 3 meetings and have gone 4-1 against them this season.

With the Coyotes having both Raanta and Kuemper on the IR I like the Wilds chances in this game.  They are in 3rd in the West Divison but the teams in front of them are pulling away with the Knights currently holding a 7 point lead for 2nd place.  So they should view this game as a way to climb up the standings a little bit.

Wild win in regulation

What’s the locks

SanDiegoBruins

locks in hockey? bahaha

Richard Daley

U gave me a lock yesterday with the caps

SanDiegoBruins

No such thing as locks brother. See above for my play

Richard Daley

What u like today?

Western Rattlers

The locks in hockey are “inconsistency”. Consistency in hockey only happens in short intervals and often under the most unpredictable situations. By the time it shows up, it’s often half over. A “lock” situation does happen sometimes, but it’s usually rare factors combining to affect the outcome of one or two games. You’d be lucky to find 10 of those in a regular season.

You have more patience than me

Western Rattlers

Locks are so incredibly rare in hockey that I can’t take them seriously. I remember a lock with San Jose a year or two ago and thinking how rare it was. I think it had to do with injuries, fatigue, strategy, just everything was for them and everything against their opponent, just an extreme situation. 1 in 500 are like that.

SanDiegoBruins

No such thing as locks in hockey (or in any sport) which is why I flat bet, unless I don’t, which is usually when I lose. I remember a game a couple of years ago, Pens v Preds I think, and the Preds bench was decimated by the flu, Rinne was out as were some top 6. Anyhow, I bet Pens hard (visitors) and got burned b/c Preds rose to meet the challenge. You just can’t overlook how adversity is a motivator.

As crazy as it sounds i think you gotta ride the Ducks.

They’re on the same pattern as the Red Wings who just beat the Canes b2b. And ANA outscored the Sharks 9-1 in the last 2 games.

No doubt the Sharks want to push but i’d imagine the room is very negative right now. Sellers at the TDL. Blues figuring themselves out. No crowd in the stands either.

Great value.

SanDiegoBruins

Avs reg – Blues are massive home dogs for a reason: the Avs are a juggernaut and trying to stop them is like, well, trying to stop an avalanche. They just added some depth with Dubnyk and Soderberg so the JoJo experiment is over thank god. The stars are healthy and it’s full steam ahead as they try to cement their hold on the one seed. Blues are desperate but they don’t have the fire power to keep up. Binnington can always steal one but I will take my chances.

How about that Caps call yesterday, hope someone tailed my tip. Bs barely got by the Sabres, even with Hall in the line-up, so that’s a concern.

The Padres melted down yesterday big time but I expect a bounce back today.

U like under 6 goals in Canadiens game?

Western Rattlers

Full game UNDER 5.5: Flames/Habs, and Avs/Blues
TIE in regulation: Annie and Sir Jose.
Risky Lean to WIN: Vegas

Scanning game results and removing Overs from games against porous teams like Ottawa and high scorers like Toronto, Flames vs Habs looks like a 4 or 5 goal game. Good goalies, with frustrating action. Avs will probably win, by shutting down the Blues again, EXCEPT, that St. Louis has won their last three games, including over Minnesota and Vegas! Under, but no bet on the side winner.

LA just isn’t doing good and Vegas still needs points and didn’t play yesterday. However, LA has a pattern of playing much better in Game 2 of a 2-game series, and Vegas the opposite, so definitely scared of this one.

I like Flames! 2,5 U
