It was a push last night with our lone unanimous pick. We had the Penguins/Flyers Over 6 goals and they hit that exactly.

In individual bets, Graeme went 1-0 and Scott went 0-3.

It was another fun day of hockey action. The Penguins/Flyers series continues to have lopsided victories either end and it’ll be interesting seeing if that continues, or if like the Penguins/Rangers series in 2016, the Pens now take over.

At home, the Wild played a lot better and got a dominating victory over the Jets to make for a very interesting Game 4.

The Capitals are now 2-0 down after another OT loss. They absolutely hammered the Jackets net but it wasn’t enough.

And the Knights made it 3-0 with a huge 3-2 victory in LA. They are the overwhelming favourites now and could be the first team in the next round of the playoffs. What an amazing time to be alive.

It’s Monday, April 6th and we’ve got 4 Game 3s on the board as we get to see how the Leafs, Devils, Avs and Sharks perform at home. 3 of those teams are down 0-2, while the Sharks are up 2-0 and are looking to also wrap the series up in 4.

Let’s get to it:

Leafs vs Bruins Game 3 Betting Tips:

Scott: The Bruins have dominated this series.  They have outscored Toronto 12-4 and chased Andersen from the crease last time out.

With the series now in Toronto the Leafs will need to show up tonight or face going down 3-0.  Matthews and Nylander will need to show up tonight too.  They are two of the best players on this team and they rely on their offense.

I do expect a better effort from the Leafs in this one.  They can’t have yet another piss poor outing in front of their home crowd and expect to have any success.

Over 5.5 incl OT  –  1u

Graeme: This is a tricky one. The Bruins have been absolutely incredible so far in the first two games. However I said yesterday when I tipped the Wild – in the playoffs it’s best not to react to what’s happened after 2 games. That’s why despite the two games in Winnipeg I went with the Wild. The question is – removing those first two games, do I have confidence in the Leafs at home?

It’s not that I don’t have confidence in the Leafs at home, however I do worry about the Bruins on the road. They were excellent on the road with a 22-12-7 record and 3 of those losses came in April.

Goaltending for the Leafs has been poor so far, however I expect to see a good offensive production from them at home. For them to stand any chance they can’t play tight – they need to loosen up and play fast and furious. I’m going to back Over 5.5 Goals for 1u. They’re without Kadri for sure and possibly Komarov but they still have more players who can put the puck in the ol onion bag.

Lighting vs Devils Game 3 Betting Tips:

Scott:  Like the Leafs – Bruins series, this one has had plenty of goals with the Lightning outscoring the Devils 10-5 over the first two games.

And like the Leafs – Bruins series the Devils are  now at home and will come out swinging in this game.

Tampas depth has been on display so far and I expect that to continue.  I can’t predict a winner but I like I the offense to continue into game 3

Over 6 incl OT – 0.5u

Graeme: This is an easy no bet for me as it’s too conflicting. Tampa are a tremendous road team however the Devils are no slouch at home. I like Tampa to win as I don’t think the Devils can keep up with them, but the odds just aren’t there for me to back either team. It’s one of those highly conflicting ones – I’d like to be on the home underdog in the playoffs especially considering how solid they were at home all season – but I think Tampa win and so I’m just going to sit back and enjoy this one.

Avalanche vs Predators Game 3 Betting Tips:

Scott:  The Preds have owned the Avs.  They have won the last 12 in a row against them including this series where Nashville is up 2-0.

With the series moving to Colorado I expect the Avs to show up.  Last game they managed to score 4 times but still lost.

The Preds are so good that it’s hard to bet against them but the Avs looked better in game 2 and will be better in this game.  I can’t back either team as I’m not sure.  All signs point to Nashville with their record against them but I’m not confident enough to tip them.

No Tip

Graeme: THIS is a hell of a game. The Preds have did what we expect but man the Avs are a feisty bunch. Their production has been impressive. Now they’re at home. The Preds are the better team but the Avs refuse to give up and I dig that. Avs goalscoring production during the regular season at home was excellent and the Preds can score on the road too. I’m good with Avs/Preds Over 5.5 for 1u.

Sharks vs Ducks Game 3 Betting Tips:

Scott:  The Ducks are down 2-0 but they shouldn’t be surprised.  They have lost the first two games at home 3 times in their last 5 playoffs.  So this is familiar territory for them.

The Sharks must feel good about their lead but know they can’t take it easy with the Ducks in this situation.

This has been a low scoring series so far with only 8 goals scored over the two games.  With Anaheim being in the place they are I like them to come away with the road win in this one.  I only went with a half unit as the Sharks have looked good and this should be a  good close game.

Ducks win incl OT – 0.5u

Graeme: Man who would think the Ducks would lose two on the trot. This is one series where I feel I’m weakest on – I’ve watched both games and I’m yet to fully comprehend why it’s happening. To be honest, I was all ready to come in here and back the Ducks however when I saw the odds, that changed my mind. Sharks won two huge road games and yet they’re still a nice price. I’m happy with risking 0.5u on Sharks OT/SO.
