We had 2 tips yesterday and we went 0-2.

The Knights should have won against the Devils and we took them -1.5.  The Devils played like a team fighting for a playoff spot, something the Knights should take note of, and won 3-2.  The Knights are still 3 points behind the Kings for 3rd in the Pacific with only 5 games remaining.

We also had over 6.5 in the Avalanche – Capitals game but it stayed under when the Caps won 3-2.  The loss stopped the Avs won streak at 9 games.  Ovechkin scored his 48th of the year.

The Canucks beat the Stars 6-2 for their 6th win in a row and are now 4 points behind the Kings and 5 back of the wild card spots.

A busy night of NHL action so let’s get to it.

Jets vs Rangers Betting Tips:

The Jets are still a team I’m nervous to bet on when they are playing.

The Rangers are on a 2 game win streak and with the Canes winning last night they are 2 points back for top spot in the Metro.

The Jets have lost 2 straight and are without Scheifele who stayed home for this road trip.

The Jets have their backs against the wall.  They still have a slim chance of making the postseason but they are 10 points out with only 6 games left so they have to win all remaining games but their schedule is looking rough with games against the Rangers, Avalanche, Hurricanes and Flames still to go.

Wings vs Lightning Betting Tips:

We would need to take the Lightning -2.5 and even that is only worth around 1.90.  Certainly not worth it when we are saying a team will win by at least 3 goals.

I like thier chances but I can’t pull the trigger on a -2.5 play so I have to skip this game.

Wild vs Canadiens Betting Tips:

The Wild are still fighting to move up in the standings.  The trail the Blues by 1 point for 2nd place in the Central.

The Habs have lost 5 straight and just want this season to be over at this point.

I would need to take the Wild -1.5 and if they were at home I would have no problem with that.  But they are on the road here and that’s a tricky bet to make for a visiting team.

Flyers vs Leafs Betting Tips:

Just like the Lightning game,  I would have to take the Leafs -2.5 which is a risky play.  They have won 3 in a row but 2 of them wouldn’t have covered.

I looked at the Over/Under and it’s at 7 which is too high.  Once the Leafs get the lead they may play it safe the rest of the way.

I like the Leafs to win but can’t bet them to win by 3 or more.

Panthers vs Islanders Betting Tips:

I want to take the Panthers to win here but it would have to be in regulation.   I don’t like to take the visiting team to win in regulation as it has burned me a bunch of times this season.

The Islanders are out but haven’t giving up.  They still play competitively going 6-4-0 over last 10.  I could see then having a strong finish to the year and use that as momentum for next season.

The Panthers have won 10 in a row and are only 2 points behind the Avalanche for top spot in the league.

I can’t make a play here.  I do like the Panthers to win and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they won it in regulation by more than 2 but I just can’t get behind it enough to make it a tip.

Bruins vs Blues Betting Tips:

The Bruins are in the 1st wild card spot but are only 3 points back of the 3rd place Lightning.  The Blues are in 2nd in the Central but they have only a 1 point lead over the 3rd place Wild.

The Blues are rolling right now winning the last 9 games straight.  And they are at home which will also work in their favor.  But it’s the Bruins and they are a good team.  They have played each other twice this season with each team winning once.

This should be a good game and I can’t pick a winner.  If I had to pick I would say the Blues as their play of late has been great but the Bruins are always a pain in the ass to play.

Flames vs Predators Betting Tips:

It’s the Preds so I won’t be tipping this game.

The Flames have been great this season and have all but officially clinched top spot in the Pacific.

The Preds are still fighting to stay in the playoff picture.  They are 10 points behind the Wild for 3rd in the Central but are in the wild card spot with teams only 4 points behind them.

Kings vs Ducks Betting Tips:

Another game where I would have to take the visiting team to win in regulation

The Kings are in 3rd in Pacific and have a  3 point lead over the Knights and a 4 point lead over the Canucks.

They have played twice this season with each team winning once.

If the Kings were at home I’d have no problem taking them in regulation but they’re the visitors so I have to skip this
one.

Senators vs Canucks Betting Tips:

The Sens are out and are just trying to get through this year.

The Canucks still have a shot and need to win against teams like the Sens to help their chances.

They have won 6 in a row and are only 4 points back of the Kings.

With the way they have been playing and with them playing this game in Vancouver I do like thier their chances here.  They played back in December and the Canucks won that one 6-2.

Canucks in regulation

Jackets vs Sharks Betting Tips:

Both teams are eliminated so it’s tough to predict who will win here.

There isn’t anything I like here.  I mean if I had to pick a team to win here it would be the Jackets as the Sharks have lost 10 straight but they are returing home after playing their last 5 on the road so they may have a better effort.   Still have to skip this one.

To WIN puckline: Canucks, Rangers
To WIN moneyline: Tampa, Leafs
Full game OVER 5.5: Blues/Bruins

Not touching the Wild for a bit, they’re getting fatigued and the OT’s and back-to-backs aren’t helping. Plus, Price is back in the twine and the Habs have no real pressure and lots of enthusiasm. St. Louis could have the same complaint, they’ve had three back-to-backs in the last 10 games. Crappy schedule season. The wins for Toronto and Tampa seem very likely, but both teams can fail at bizarre times, especially the Hogtown Hooligans.
