0-1 last night in what waa a brutal loss by the Canucks.

I had the Canucks to win in regulation against the Sens but the Sens won 4-3 in a shootout.  The Canucks blew a 2-0 lead and hurt their slim playoff chances.  The loss snapped the Canucks win streak at 6 games.  When they are fighting for a playoff spot they should have had no problem beating a team who is so far behind them in the standings.  It’s frustrating for betting when a team is desperate for points and on paper should have won no problem to have them blow a lead and lose.

The Bruins beat the Blues 3-2 in overtime snapping the Blues win steak at 9 games.  The Rangers picked up their 3rd straight shutout when they blanked the Jets 3-0.

The Panthers beat the Islanders 3-2 but needed overtime to get there. The Wings upset the Lighting 4-3. The Preds kept the playoff hopes alive when they beat the Flames 3-2 in a shootout

A slower night with only 4 games and I’m ok with that.  With not much longer until the season ends finding tips will be harder each day.

Stars vs Oilers Betting Tips:

The Stars are in the wild card spot but have only a 4 point cushion so they need points.  The Oilers have won 2 straight and are 8-1-1 over last 10.

They have played twice this season with the Stars winning both.

With the way the Oilers have been playing I do like their chances in this game but the Stars have had success against them.  If we were to take the Oilers it would need to be in regulation.  With the Stars needing all the points they can get this could be a good game.  I feel it safer to skip this game as it could go either way.

Capitals vs Knights Betting Tips:

I have put the Knights on the list of teams I’m not touching joining the Jets and Predators.

In saying that, if the Knights are to somehow make the postseason they need to win.

There is value in taking the Caps to win here but again it’s the Knights and who knows how they perform here.  Another game where I have to skip.

Avalanche vs Kraken Betting Tips:

The Avalanche lost their last game which snapped their win streak at 9 games.  The Kraken are way out of the playoff picture but have won 2 in a row.

To get any value on the Avalanche we would need to take them in regulation.  Their last 2 games on the road were decided in extra time so it makes this a little tough to call and I’m fine skipping this one.

Blackhawks vs Coyotes Betting Tips:

There is nothing I like for this game.

The Hawks have lost their last 2 games and are 1-8-1 over last 10.  The Coyotes have lost 7 straight and are 2-8-0.

Both have nothing to gain here so it’s a hard game to predict and I’m not going to try.

Scott, good read on these games. Yeah, fuck the Knights. What happened to that team went to the Finals? Exactly.

Lean: to WIN moneyline: Oilers
PREDICTION: Vegas misses the playoffs

Dallas off losing to Vancouver 6-2, at Alberta foothills elevation, vs the Oilers on three days off (a bit of a worry that they’ll come out slow against a Stars team good on defensive shutdowns) and playing hot. I think the Oilers take it. Both need points, considering the remaining matchups between now and the end of the season, but the Oilers have very few “easy” games left and will have prioritized this one. Dallas shouldn’t panic that they face the Oilers and Flames in a back-to-back, after that they still have Arizona, Anaheim and Seattle on tap. Vegas’ list of matchups is far tougher, I see two more games Vegas might win. Nashville has a tougher remaining list of matchups but it’s sitting 6 points up on Vegas. Vegas won’t make the playoffs. Easy to think that the rested Flames win tomorrow against a probably exhausted Stars team and Calgary still needing more points to lock things up.
