4 games and no tips yesterday.
The Knights picked up a huge win when they beat the Caps 4-3 in overtime. They are now 2 back of the Stars for the wild card and 3 back of the Kings. Ovechkin scored twice to give him 50 on the season and he tied Bossy and Gretzky with his 9th 50 goal season which is the most in NHL history.
The Oilers beat the Stars 5-2. The Stars are still in the wild card but have only a 2 point lead now.
The Kraken beat the Avalanche 3-2 and the Hawks beat the Coyotes 4-3 in overtime.
It’s another busy night with 11 games. Just over a week left in the season.
Flyers vs Canadiens Betting Tips:
Nothing I like for this game.
Both teams are on 6 game losing streaks. The Flyers road record is 10-23-5, the Habs home record is 10-24-4.
And to make things worse, their records over the last 10 are also the same 2-8-0. Too close to call and both out of postseason.
Sabres vs Devils Betting Tips:
Both are eliminated so really tricky to try and predict an outcome.
The Devils are favored here and that’s because they are at home.
I really have no idea who wins this game.
Wings vs Panthers Betting Tips:
So the Panthers are the heavy favorites here and for good reason. They are tied for 1st overall in the league and have a game in hand over the Avalanche. They are also riding an 11 game win streak.
To get any “value” we would have to take the Panthers -2.5 and the odds for that are only around 1.80. To take a team to win by at least 3 goals and to have the odds so low make this unplayable for me.
Bruins vs Penguins Betting Tips:
The Bruins are only 1 point back of the Lightning for 3rd in the Atlantic so they need to win this game to get 1 step closer to a 1st round matchup with the Leafs.
The Penguins are in 3rd in the Metro but the Caps have the same amount of points as them and they are in the final wild card spot.
Big game for both teams. The Bruins have won their last 2 games and are 6-4-0 last 10, the Pens are 3-6-1.
I wanted to take the Bruins here but the Pens face dropping into the wild card with a loss. Should be a good game but I have to skip this one.
Jets vs Hurricanes Betting Tips:
It’s the Jets so no play here for me.
The Jets have lost 3 straight and have a tiny chance of making the postseason as they are 10 points out of the wild card with only 5 games left so they need to win all remaining games.
To get any value on the Canes it would need to be a -1.5 play and with the Jets backs against the wall who knows how they do here.
Rangers vs Islanders Betting Tips:
They have played each other 3 times this season with the Isles winning 2 of them.
Over the last 10 games the Rangers have gone 7-2-1 including winning their last 3 in a row and the Isles have gone 5-4-1 losing their last 2.
The Rangers are tied with the Canes for top spot in the Metro so they will be looking to keep their win streak alive here.
Plus the could even the season series against their rivals with a win.

Leafs vs Lightning Betting Tips:
The over/under is set at 7 and I expected that.
The Leafs have won 4 in a row and are in 2nd in the Atlantic.
The Lightning are in the 3rd in the Atlantic but the Bruins are right behind them.
Both teams are going to the playoffs and if they started today this would be a first round matchup.
This may have a playoff feeling to it with both teams knowing they could be playing at least 4 games in a row against each other in a couple weeks. I’m not sure who wins this one but I’m sure it will be a fun game to watch.
Canucks vs Wild Betting Tips:
The Canucks need any and all points they can get for the rest of the season. They are 4 points back for the Stars for the final wild card spot in the West.
The Wild are in 2nd in the Central but the Blues are in 3rd and tied with them for points.
I would lean towards a Wild win but the Canucks are in desperation mode and will be sure to go all out the rest of the way.
Stars vs Flames Betting Tips:
The Stars need points and their schedule isn’t going to make it easy for them. The play the Flames tonight then have a date with the Knights in a couple games.
The Flames are comfortably in 1st in the Pacific.
With the Stars needing points to stay in the wild card they should have a good effort here but it’s the Flames and they have been a strong team all season. With the Stars needing one final push to ensure they make the postseason they should make this a good game.
Blues vs Sharks Betting Tips:
The Blues need to win to stay in 3rd. With the Wild playing earlier in the night the Blues will be watching that before their game.
The Sharks snapped their losing streak at 10 games in their last putting when they beat the Jackets.
I like the Blues chances here but it would need to be in regulation and they are the visiting team so I’m not going to tip that as I always get burnt. I personally will be making that bet but I can’t have it as an official tip.
Blackhawks vs Kings Betting Tips:
If the Kings can win this game they would make the Knights playoff chances that much harder and force them to chase rhe wild card spots.
The Hawks have nothing to gain or lose here so they will be playing for pride.
This is the 5th and final game between these teams with both winning 2. 2 of the 4 games needed overtime.
To get any value on the Kings we would need to take them in regulation and as the previous results show that’s not a smart play.
Full game OVER 5.5: Flames
Play money bets only tonight.
Betting tip: When presented with the absurd, don’t be the better who tries to change the trend. Hence, a “tie in regulation” bet seems like an option for the Montreal game (laughter heard everywhere). Maybe the same for Buffalo.
I’m seeing nutso hockey; teams not taking opportunities when they REALLY should, and some play way over their head one day, collapsing the next game. Detroit comes out strong and wins recently against the best teams, and is shut down by the crap teams. Detroit at +2.5 is sitting around X1.90 right now. Detroit will either win or be destroyed, and Florida doesn’t show signs of taking it easy. Florida at home is a brick wall, but has nothing to play for of any meaning. The % of teams who win the Presidents Trophy who also win the Stanley Cup is very small. No bet there. Flames “should” win, they can clinch a Division title tonight, but beating any team who is desperate, is a different kettle of jambalaya, and Dallas? Flames top three players need one or two goals each to break 40 goal mark. Gaudreau is close to the NHL individual points lead; 5 pts behind. Oettinger was chased out early in the Vancouver game. Bad omen for Dallas. Tough call.
