Lost both of the tips yesterday.  But lots of the results yesterday were unexpected.

Had the Flames to beat the Canadiens but the Habs won 2-1.  With the win the Canadiens now have a 6 point lead over the Flames for the 4th spot in the North Divison.

The other tip was the Hurricanes to beat the Stars but the Stars won 4-3 in overtime.  With the win the Stars are now only 2 points behind the Preds for 4th in the Central.  With the point gained in the overtime loss the Hurricanes clinched a playoff spot becoming the first team to do so who doesn’t play in the West Divison.

The Blues beat the Avalanche 4-1, and the Sharks beat the Coyotes 6-4.  With the Blues winning and the Coyotes losing the Blues moved ahead of them in the standings with 48 points to the Coyotes 47.  The Blues also have 3 games in hand.

The Sens beat the Canucks 2-1 and with the Flames losing it would have been a huge win for the Canucks.  But they are still 10 points behind Montreal with 5 games in hand.

The Predators beat the Panthers 4-1 which was a crucial win with the Stars also winning.  The Predators have a 2 point lead for 4th place ahead of the Stars.

The Oilers pounded the Jets 6-1.  McDavid scored his third hat trick of the season in the win.  With the win the Oilers moved ahead of the Jets for 2nd place in the North Divison.

The Kings beat the Ducks 4-1 and as our friend Western Rattlers mentioned in the comments yesterday their schedule moving forward is good for LA so that’s something to keep an eye on.

Add the Red Wings to the list of eliminated teams.  We have 8 games scheduled tonight.  There wasn’t anything I liked from tonight’s games.  Just over 3 weeks left of the season.

April 27th, 2021 NHL Betting Tips

Flyers vs Devils

The Flyers mathematically still have a shot at the playoffs but its going to take a lot of work and for the teams in front of them to loss.

The Devils have already been eliminated so they now are considered spoilers who can mess with a team fighting for a spot.

No idea here

Islanders vs Capitals

This is a big game.  The Caps are in 2nd in the East Divison with 66 points in 48 games, the Isles are in 3rd with 63 points in 48 games.

The Caps have won in 5 of the 7 games against the Isles.  But the Isles must feel the pressure that the Bruins are putting on them who are only 3 points back of them.

Was leaning towards a Caps win but the Isles need this win so I’ll avoid a tip here.

Bruins vs Penguins

The Pens have won 4 in a row and are leading the East Divison.   The Bruins are in 4th but only 3 points behind 3rd and 4 points ahead of the Rangers.

These teams have traded wins all season so if that continues than this should be a Bruins win.  But I don’t have confidence in making a play on this game.

Sabres vs Rangers

The Rangers should win this game.  But to get any value it would have to be at least -1.5 and even that has odds of about 1.80 and that is just to low for me.

Red Wings vs Blue Jackets

Both teams eliminated so nothing for this game.

Panthers vs Predators

Yet another back to back, head to head.   No thanks

Lightning vs Blackhawks

I mentioned to Graeme that in their last game, the Hawks needed to win as their schedule gets tough moving forward.  He said the Hawks will loss that game, which they did, and win against teams they should lose to.  He’s not wrong as thats the way the Hawks have been all season.

They have played 7 times this season with the Lightning winning 6 of them.  I would say let’s go with the Lightning but again who knows what the Hawks will do here.  They are still clinging on to a playoff spot but just barely.   I’ll avoid this game.

Hurricanes vs Stars

Back to back, head to head.  Skipping this one but I would lean towards a Canes win after they lost last night

Western Rattlers

To WIN: Rangers moneyline (and puckline; less $ on PL)
Dallas on the Reverse Puckline of +1.5
Lean: Detroit to win on the Puckline

If Detroit wins, and they should (Columbus is in tatters and the Wings have been scoring and showing effort), they’ll likely win by the puckline. Dallas isn’t likely to lose by more than a goal, and may win it, as the team with a critical game tonight for playoff standing. Rangers really need this particular win, and win is likely to arrive on the puckline, but taking moneyline as the basic but too.
