Quite the day in the NHL, as both Tampa and the Islanders gave themselves lifelines yesterday. The Dallas Stars also pulled off an extremely impressive victory in Vegas, to breathe life into that series.

And although I got grannied, it was worth it just to see the Leafs lose. Legit; what a pitiful performance from that team, and I feel bad for Leafs fans. There is just no fight to that team at all, and it’s so disappointing to see. My Leafs fan friends aren’t even blowing up my phone complaining about the refs; they just sound so defeated, and really that sucks.

Busy day today with 4 games. Due to time constraints I’m just going to list the Bet365 odds for each and my write-ups will be short.

Avalanche vs Jets Game 4 Betting Tips:

Scott: The Jets were up 2-1 after the 2nd but the Avs scored 4 unanswered and added an empty net goal to complete the comeback and win 6-2. There was a line brawl at the end of the game and Jets defenseman Dillon had his hand cut badly and was leaking blood badly.

With this game still in Colorado the Avs need to get the job done before the series goes back to Winnipeg for the next game.

They looked good last time out so I like them to build off of that and push their win streak to 3 games.

Avalanche win in regulation 2.05

Graeme: The 5 vs 5 metrics for the Avs in the last game were actually a bit weak compared to the Jets. It was a closer game than the result suggests. In all situations though the Avs certainly have been the better team. Tight one, and No Bet for me.

Predators vs Canucks Game 4 Betting Tips:

Scott: The Canucks got it done without Demko. DeSmith made 29 saves and if not for a goal with about 3 minutes left he would have had a shutout.

They have a 2-1 series lead now and are in Nashville again tonight. The Preds need to get back to winning while at home as the series goes back to Vancouver here.

But for the Canucks the last game was a huge one and showed they can win without Demko. How often they do is still up in the air.

No Bet

Graeme: Impressive to see the Canucks get the W although it felt against the run of play there. Thought they were quite fortunate. I’m going with Preds incl OT here at 1.83. I’m close to a regulation play based on the data.

Capitals vs Rangers Game 4 Betting Tips:

Scott: Really what’s left to be said here.

The Rangers scored a powerplay goal and a short handed one in their last game.

The Rangers are just too strong of a team and Shesterkin has been great allowing only 5 goals over the 3 games.

Rangers win in regulation 1.83

Graeme: Really the only thing putting me off the Rangers is seeing how the two 3-0 series games went yesterday. A lot of the metrics actually lean towards the Caps who had a better xGF in that last game and so many more high danger chances. They are just struggling to convert.

The data is enough to put me off the Rangers but it won’t surprise me if they wrap it up here as the Caps offense just can’t convert which is concerning.. No bet

Kings vs Oilers Game 4 Betting Tips:

Scott: The Oilers responded well after taking that overtime loss and came out swinging and won 6-1.

McDavid got his 1st of the playoffs, Draisaitl scored 2 and Hyman scored twice and now has 6 already. Kane picked up the Gordie Howe hat trick too.

Now that they have their stars doing their thing the Oilers have a good shot at running away with this.

Oilers win in regulation 2.15

Graeme: A huge bounce back from teh Oilers. Their offense has been stellar all playoffs. I’m going with Oilers over 3.5 goals at 2.00 odds as that seems the best thing to back.

It’s an amazing thing to watch a Jets/Avs game and then watch some morbidly slow game after that. Is it even the same sport? I’m not a Leafs fan but was hoping they’d win the series. Boston’s won enough. Something is odd with Toronto right now, I don’t know what, I’ll let that figure itself out without worrying about it. I can’t see that it’s the coach’s fault. They can’t seem to even see the ice to organize anything in the offensive end, and that’s a constant series of player decisions and actions, it’s not on the coach. And this isn’t October, it’s freaking April and it’s the playoffs already. They need to start eating hot peppers and pump iron so they start willing their way to the goal light. Will the Leafs “be back”?

I’m looking for props in the Jets/Avs game because of the high speed. I think the Jets can win one or more games there yet, but not betting on that. Jets have the speed and depth for it, and Colorado can be scored on, I can’t see the Jets losing out without a major fight. I’m glad it’s going back to Winnipeg regardless, it’s great hockey, they’re playing with muscle and brains, unlike the shriveling Leafs.

I think the Oilers take this. They had an odd Game 2, but rebounded with a lot of intent. LA is 0/10 on the powerplay and the Oilers are 7/14, in this series. LA is taking a lot of penalties in this series and their penalty kill is obviously out to lunch on Rodeo Drive. Maybe some player props there too, for the Oilers.

To WIN moneyline: Rangers and Oilers
Full game OVER 6.0: Jets/Avs
Lean: puckline win by Rangers
