Well that was a frustrating night for the tips.  Both tips had teams who needed to win their games and both teams lost.

First I went with the Coyotes to beat the Sharks.  The Sharks won 4-2.  I figured that with the Sharks losing 4 in a row at home and the Coyotes in desperate need of wins that they would have took this one.  Heading in to this 2 game series against Arizona the Sharks had lost 8 straight.

The other tip was the Kings to win in regulation against the Ducks but it was the Ducks coming out 3-2 winners.  The loss really stung the Kings as they currently sit 8 points out of the playoffs.  They have a couple more games against the Ducks before their schedule gets tougher.

The Blues beat the Wild 4-3. The win snapped the Wilds win streak at 7 games. They were down 3-1 to start the 3rd but stormed back scoring 3 unanswered in the final period to win.  With the win the Blues now have 50 points which is 3 more than the 5th place Coyotes but have 3 games in hand on them.

The Leafs beat the Habs 4-1 and the win clinched a playoff spot for Toronto.  The Leafs are in 1st in the North Divison and the Canadiens are in 4th.  They play each other 3 more times before the playoffs.  And it looks like they may meet in the playoffs for the first time since 1979.

The Sens beat the Canucks again and won this 4 game series 3-1.  For the Canucks having played so few games due to an outbreak among the team, losing to weaker teams like this really hurts their chances.  Their remaining schedule sees them play the Leafs twice, the Jets twice, the Flames 4 times and the Oilers 5 times.  With lots of points to make up the Canucks competition is going to get harder.

The Oilers beat the Jets 3-1 and have a 3 point lead over them in the North.  The Knights beat the Avalanche for their franchise record 10th straight win.

10 games for us tonight.  A few of the games are mismatches and the odds reflect that.  But there are also some big rivalry games so it should be a good night

Flames vs Oilers

This is always a great game when its the Battle of Alberta.

The Flames have a small shot at catching the Canadiens but they now have to take on their biggest rival who would love nothing more than to make it that much harder for them to make the playoffs.  The Oilers are rolling at the moment going 11-3-2 and return home looking for revenge after losing their last game against the Flames 5-0.

With the Flames fighting for their lives the Oilers are going to make it tough for them.  They would love being a part or helping to eliminate them.   This season they have played 8 times and the Oilers have won 5 of them.

McDavid is playing arguably the best hockey of his career and when hes rolling like this the Oilers are a tough team to beat.

Oilers win incl OT/SO

Western Rattlers

To WIN: Boston
Boston has something to play for and is peaking and full of talent.

No other bets tonight. Flames are out no matter what. Wild/Blues I can’t trust. I got stung with LA losing last night, but that just repeats an old lesson; never expect a bottom 30% team to make you money, because they’re weak and inconsistent. They’re bottom 30% for a reason; they’re not capable of controlling how a game goes, so predictability is at a low level!
