Oh Toronto.

I mean – I just can’t see it happening. I really can’t. But boy do I want it to happen so bad – it would just be so funny. Stolarz looked shook right from the beginning of the game. What a hilarious collapse that would be.

Carolina made it through to the next round – albeit with a LOT of effort to get there. Massive comeback then the double OT win. That was something. Knights got a tight 3-2 win over the Wild to take the lead, and the Oilers carried their momentum into Game 5.

We have three games today and I am writing these while in the car on my laptop so my own write-ups will be short and I’ll skip best odds again.

Capitals vs Canadiens Game 5

Scott: The Habs were able to pick up a win in Montreal in game 3 after putting Xhekaj into the lineup. That boost wore off in game 4 as the Caps won 5-2 in game 4.

I just don’t think the Habs have a shot anymore. I did originally think they had a shot at being this year’s Cinderella team but after game 4 I’m not so sure.

I have enjoyed watching Suzuki in the postseason. He has 2 goals but he does keep firing the puck. His shot totals have been 7, 0, 3 and 1. With their backs to the wall I expect him to be involved.

Suzuki over 2.5 shots

Graeme: As much as I would love the Habs to mount an epic comeback – I think Game 4 showed they just don’t have the experience for it yet. A clutch game like this – I just don’t see it. Caps in Regulation

Lightning vs Panthers Game 5

Scott: The Lightning scored twice in 11 seconds in the 2nd to take a 2-1 lead into the 3rd. The Panthers scored 2 of their own also in 11 seconds late in the 3rd. They added an empty netter at the end and now have a commanding 3-1 lead.

With how the Panthers never gave up they are dangerous and with them winning the Cup last season their experience is also helping them. I’m not picking a winner here.

The Panthers need to end this while they can. Verhaeghe has been a consistent threat in the playoffs for them going back to 2021-22.

Verhaeghe Over 2.5 shots

Graeme: I think the Panthers have just overall shown a lot more, and being able to come back like that in the last game – I think they carry the momentum on. Panthers incl OT

Jets vs Blues Game 5

Scott: The Blues have went off in the last 2 games. After scoring only 4 goals combined in the first 2 games of the series, both losses, the scored 7 and then 5 in 2 wins.

The chased Hellebuyck from the net in back to back games which is saying something when you can do that to one of the leagues best goalies.

With the series tied 2-2 I think the Jets will have to have a big game. The Blues just kinda of embarrassed them over the last 2 games. I expect Binnington to be busy.

Binnington over 23.5 saves

strong>Graeme: Jets had the goaltending going for them. They don’t anymore. It’s a huge variance mark, but the Blues being 2.50 make me happy. Great odds considering goalie variance – if Jets get it going tonight so be it but I think that’s a good value play. Blues incl OT

I forget exact numbers, BUT Toronto has blown 3game series leads x amount of times in last 30years, x being not good. Have not close out a series in 5 games since the 1960’s. If you dont believe in ghosts of Christmas past and superstition…. i dont know, LOL

  • MTL/WAS Under 6.5
  • Bobrovsky under 22.5 saves
  • Thompson over 22.5 saves
  • St-Louis over 2.5 goals

all over the map, with these… no guarantees and betting 1/4 to 1/2 units that is how uncertain I am, LOL

I figure the Caps take the game today. I also put some cash down on Strome OVER on his points prop, and Beauvillier OVER on his points prop and a few dollars for OVER on his assists prop.

That being said, I also expect Montreal to put on a good show, they’ve had a very good year and I’m glad they got a playoff win at home. Great hockey fans, great hockey town, the way it should be.

The other two games are far too up in the air for me to want to bet in any way.

Hey guys just wanted to come back retroactively and say thanks for the prop on Bennington saves over 23.5. It’s about to cash with 14 min left. As much as I respect you don’t force a tip it’s cool you pivoted to have some kinda action by using props. You made me a few units tonight!
