Had 3 tips yesterday and went 2-1

Went with over 6 in the Kraken vs Lightning game and the Lightning basically win for us by themselves when they won 6-2.

Had the Capitals to win in regulation against the Blackhawks and they did 7-3. Ovechkin scored a hat trick which was his 800th career goal. He is now only the 3rd player in NHL history to reach that milestone. What an amazing career he’s had and is now only 1 behind Howe and 94 behind Gretzky. You know it was special when he got a standing ovation in Chicago and they threw hats on the ice for his trick.

I had the Bruins to win in regulation against the Isles. The Bruins had a 2-0 lead but the Isles scored 2 of their own. The Bruins scored again and the Isles answered back. They just couldn’t get away from them. In the end it was the Bruins who won 4-3 in a shootout.

The Leafs pounded the Ducks 7-0, the Panthers shutout the Jackets 4-0, the Sabres shutout the Kings 6-0 with Thompson scoring 2 and adding an assist, the Canes shutout the Wings 1-0 and the Stars beat the Devils 4-1.

It’s a slow night of hockey with only 3 games. With 12 games yesterday and 12 more tomorrow I’ll take the slow schedule today. I couldn’t come up with any tips for today.

Canadiens vs Senators

These teams have had similar seasons so far. The Habs are in 5th in the Atlantic going 14-12-2 and the Sens are in 7th going 12-14-2.

On the road Habs have gone 7-5-2 and the Sens home record is 7-8-0. The Sens are ranked 17th in GPG, the Habs 27th. For GAPG the Habs are 23rd and the Sens 19th.

All signs point to a Sens win using the stats but if they do is another story. It’s usually a good game when these teams meet but I’m not sure who wins it so I’m skipping.

Red Wings vs Wild

The Wings are on a 3 game losing streak and the Wild have won their last 2.

They played once this season and that was back in October and the Wings won that one 2-1.

Both teams are scoring more than 3 a game and are allowing 3 or more too.

At home the Wild have gone 8-6-1 which isn’t strong enough to help me make a pick here. The Wings road record is 6-4-3.

I’m fine just skipping this game.

Canucks vs Flames

The Canucks lost their last game, have gone 6-4 over last 10 and are on the road where they have gone 7-6-2. The Flames have dropped their last 3 games, have gone 4-4-2 over last 10 and are at how home where they have went 10-5-1. Against Pacific Divsion teams the Canucks have gone 6-2-0 and the Flames 3-2-0.

I want to take the Flames to win here and to get value it would have to be in regulation but their last 2 games needed extra time and for the Canucks 3 of their last 4 games needed overtime.

I feel better skipping this one.

Win moneyline: Minnesota
Flames have a lot of injury issues right now, which probably means substitute players and line changing. No idea what that produces, and it’s the Canucks in town, so even less of a clear picture.

Detroit’s on a back-to-back, suffered a shutout yesterday after a 4-day break. They’ve racked up good stats against very poor teams, but Minnesota’s stats should prevail. Minnesota should see themselves taking 8 points in a series of games against lesser teams, at home, no back-to-backs. I don’t see the Puckline as safe here.

looking ahead to tomorrows games i like Boston -1.5 at +110

While I am impressed with the Kings offensive play their defense makes way too many mistakes that should play right into Bostons hands. The goaltending of the Kings also continues to be their biggest weakness and is a huge mismatch. We all know by now how good Bostons goals against has been especially at home. They also have the 3rd best Power Play percentage and the best PK% in the league. The Kings have allowed 13 power play goals over the last 10 games. The Kings definitely have an offense that needs to be respected but I think this is a really bad matchup for them. Looking at the Kings road results, their best win was probably vs the Oilers. They have yet to beat a team ahead of them in the standings on the road. Looking at the results vs top teams on the road they lost by 5 to Pittsburgh, lost by 3 to Dallas and lost by 5 to Toronto. A similar fate could be in store vs the Bruins tomorrow. I am not an expert on line movement, but like the +110 here in case Boston gets more expensive.

Bos -1.5 at +110 tomorrow.
