It was a 1-1 night for a small profit as the Washington Capitals got us the win in a convincing fashion.

Overall it was a pretty damn good night of hockey with a lot of exciting games. The Islanders put up another high scoring one as they lost 6-4 to the Jackets. The Blackhawks make it 4 in a row with a big 5-1 win over the Jets.

The Oilers got thumped at home by the Predators. I said I liked the Predators there and surprisingly they won – I guess lightning can strike once.

The Knights got another big win as Fleury faced his former club and in a tight one, the Knights won 2-1.

It’s Friday, December 15th 2017 and we’ve got 5 games on the board. Was really hoping to back the Canes but the best odds I can see for the money line are 1.64. They’ll probably cover but I can’t back at that price.

Stars vs Devils Betting Tips:

This was a weird one where I saw the odds and had to message Scott and ask if I was high – I’m very surprised at how big an underdog the Devils are.

Vegas knows better than me but the Devils just seem too good value to pass up. I mean the Stars road form is better and all that but it’s not like they’re uber dominant or anything. The Devils are a very hard working team lately. Even in some of their losses they have looked good out there.

Hall might be out. Lehtonen is starting and has a good record against the Devils and is playing well at the moment.

I mean I can see the Stars being favourites I guess – but it just seems too big a price for me for a home team going up against a team with little consistency such as the Stars.

Canucks vs Sharks Betting Tips:

It isn’t the easiest bet to make here but I’m going to take the Sharks.

I’m wary of the Canucks who have had some big thumpings in their 4 game losing streak. You just know a team like that is going to turn it around at some point in a big way.

But the loss of Horvat appears to be huge and Tanev looks to be out too.

Sharks have Jones in net, Donskoi is back. Jones is from Vancouver so it’s a big game for him.

Think there’s just enough to tilt this one in the Sharks direction. If Canucks make this the game they turn around then so be it – but they’re really looking lost out there and demoralized.

I like McElhinney in net vs Detroit.

any toughts about rangers to win ? odds are nice and they are a big team at home .

Sacha-raphael Gagne

and they will want to come out strong has they loose against the sen’s last game

Oliver Trigg

I would nervous of taking the Rangers today, the Kings will also be looking for a bounce back and have lately been much better than the Rangers. Rangers have only won 2 of their last 5 and their stats have taken a serious dip. This isn’t a game I would bet, and if I was going to I would consider the Kings at the plus price.

SanDiegoBruins

I have watched the Rangers’ last two games and they suck right now. I am 90% confident that Kings win this game.

Oliver Trigg

Man no disagreement there- the scores don’t even reflect how bad they’ve been. Senators weren’t even good the last game, and the Rangers just had tendencies to zone out. I bet them last game, even though I really felt funny about it after looking at their advanced stats, and I’m jumping of the bandwagon tonight.

Finally stopped the bleeding last night. Among the bets that worked out were Ducks and Preds. You can analyze stats all you want but it comes down to the talent and human factors like motivation and chemistry.

Speaking of chemistry, I really like the Kings today over the Rangers. The Rangers are having a tough time right now, they got spanked by the Stars at home and picked up their sluggishness in Ottawa where the lowly Sens (sorry Sens fan, but your team stinks) broke a long losing string. Maybe they are taking a break from all the winning they’ve done or maybe the loss of Zibanejad has really upset their chemistry. Whatever it is, Blue Shirts are just not showing up for games. On the other hand you have the Kings who are ripping up the West and are one of the hottest teams in the NHL. Sure, they had a rare hiccup vs the Devils, but expect them to be ready to play tonight at MSG against the lethargic Rangers. Kings are 10-5 on the road, scoring 3.2 in last 5 and they are the NHL stingiest team with a 2.28 GAA. I like the ML and TT for the Kings today.

more coming…

Oliver Trigg

I’m with you on Kings so far. Again plus money on a team who can easily win this game. Look at how they handled the Caps who were a home favourite.

SanDiegoBruins

All signs point to a Kings win. Rangers are slumping and have no answers. The local press is calling for a “fire sale” https://goo.gl/TMbZe9

At first glance I like Over SJS-VAN and TOR ml

Are you “nucks”? Vancouver is terrible and their #2 and #4 point leaders are injured. I’m 95% certain that Sharks win this game

Oliver Trigg

Congrats on your wins!

Preds, Avalanche, Jackets, Tampa and Capitals cashed me in last night. Jets let me down, but after I finished watching the Preds game I switched over to the Knights game and I liked what I saw of the Knights at 1-1 so placed an in play on the Knights and about 5 seconds after I placed it the Knights scored. Funnily enough I was tempted to place quite a large stake on the Knights, and regretted not doing so. That being said, doing things like that in the long run will shoot you in the foot- choosing teams whom you’ve not looked at closely and suddenly playing a high stake on them. Discipline is essential and I would generally advise staying away from betting in play. All in all a good couple of days. On with today-

Sharks ML/Reg (95%/90%) if you’ve been following me you can’t be shocked that I’m tipping against the Canucks at the moment. They’re injured and struggling mightily with 31% of their firepower not on the ice. The Sharks are a great defensive team, and are playing well on the road with their only loses coming to strong home sides who are in better shape that the Canucks. I won’t over analyse here – the Sharks are in better form and have owned the Canucks having won 9 of the last 10 meetings. Just go look at the H2H it’s crazy how consistently the Sharks have beaten the Canucks. Betting against the Canucks right now is the sensible thing to do.

Kings ML (70%) this is a value pick. I’ve watched the Rangers closely and boy they’re dipping at the moment, and their corsi stats say it all. They’re giving away so many turnovers, struggling to hold the puck, so often going down first etc etc. Rangers have been a great home side, but the Kings have been a great road side. The Rangers are struggling with out Zibanejad and have only won 2 of their last 5. From what I’ve seen the Kings look the better side right now, especially on the defensive end of the ice. I am more than happy to risk it on the Kings at an underdog price considering they’ve won 4 of their last 5 on the road. Either side could take the win here, but I think the Kings have the slight edge and are at a plus money price so I’ll take them.

Canes ML (70%) The Canes are a much better team than their record shows, and they’re win over both Vegas and the Preds proves this team does have talent. The Sabres well are the Sabres and have won 5 of their last 20 games… Canes are just the better choice here they should be feeling better about themselves after beating the Knights and have had more rest than the Sabres. This pick is a gut pick- I just feel like the Canes will take this. Do with that what you will.

Here’s to a another night of profit hopefully!

SanDiegoBruins

Did you look at the Stars-Devils game?

Oliver Trigg

I probably won’t bet it the odds aren’t good enough. But still think they win. Will 100% bet Sharks and will put a decent play on Kings. I’m not sure about the Devils – stars , I just know Devils can put up a hell of a fight but I think stars win- might add a play later.

POTD (pick of the day)
Sharks ML/Reg (PL if your bankroll can support it)
Vancouver has gone 2-8-0 in their past 10 games versus the Sharks (0-5-0 in the last 5 games played) Sharks are hungry for points and will feast on a Canucks team that is without their #2 and #4 point scorers. Sharks just got back Joonas Donskoi who is their #2 goal scorer. In his first game back he scored and assisted on another. The Sharks are a deep team with great special teams: 2nd in PK and 12th in PP.

Sharks PL

Does anyone have thoughts on games hopeful for overs proposition ? I prefer overs to ML or reg win bets. Thanks !

i think the toronto game will be a fun game with a lot of goals today. think o 6 is a good play, also the under in buffalo.

SanDiegoBruins

You might be right, but lately these two teams can’t buy a goal

Tonight’s tips:

Devils – Stars over 5,5 goals
Wings – Leafs under 5,5 goals
Hurricanes ML

SanDiegoBruins

Another reason I like Stars tonight…Ken Hitchcock will try to become the third coach to reach 800 NHL wins tonight.

He would join Hockey Hall of Famer Scotty Bowman (1,244 wins in 2,141 games) and Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville (867 wins in 1,571 games). Pretty good company.

You can bet the team will be trying to get that W for him. By the way, New Jersey, who is missing Hall, has lost three of its past four games (1-2-1).
