0-1 last night as the Wings/Canes game couldn’t really get going goals wise. Wings offense was very flat and mustered just a 1.52 xG so unfortunately, they look a team to avoid.
Leafs 5-0 down, mount a 5 goal comeback then lose in OT. Classic Leafs man. New coach syndrome worked for the Blues. Oilers and Tampa had a banger. And I am gutted that the metrics didn’t work out for backing the Canucks, as they got a convincing win over Florida.
Feeling a little bit cloudy today I must admit – celebrated the Glasgow Rangers incredible win over Betis a little bit too hard last night. So just a heads up about that ha.
Let’s look at todays six-pack:
Rangers vs Ducks:
Rangers come in off that Leafs loss. Not good results for them over the last 4. Ducks just be en getting crushed. Rangers -1.5 would be the play based on the odds.
Metrics wise – eh. Rangers goals against and xGA is shocking. That’s a big concern. Ducks however aren’t exactly an offensive juggernaut. But Rangers have covered the handicap once in 8 games.
Rangers haven’t played teams lately with metrics as bad as the Ducks but Capitals are close (although Caps are weird).
I dunno the data isn’t huge in favour of it, but with the Rangers facing Boston tomorrow I gotta think they focus big on this game tonight and see if they carry the momentum in. Quick might be in net which would be a good thing.
Ah – this one is very close for me. I’m going to make it goalie dependent and even then, I am not loving it. I just picture a sweat for Rangers chasing that clinching goal for the bet. To make it worse, Rangers have an absolutely brutal record against empty net with just 3 goals in 14 attempts. Bleh – going with it. Not overly happy about it.

Islanders vs Bruins:
Nothing for this one. Sight lean on Islanders but not enough to back.
Hurricanes vs Predators:
Canes on a B2B against a team I’m never happy betting on. Happy to skip. Data says Canes win but not taking them in regulation.
Stars vs Senators:
Stars coming in off the Wings win. Sens on a B2B losing to the Blues.
The data isn’t really there to take the Stars in regulation, and Oiettinger isn’t have the best of games right now. Sens offense should be performing better and scoring more so that’s a concern.
My gut says the Stars in regulation comes through here but the data and the Stars goaltending doesn’t back that up.
Annoyingly, I still want to back the Stars regardless. So Stars in Regulation for me – more just that whole gut/feeling play than actual data backing that one.

Coyotes vs Sharks:
The over immediately jumps to mind in this game. Both teams have good GF/60 but their GA/60s arent overwhelmingly bad. xGF/60 are low but xGA are high. This one is a bit too close for comfort. No bet.
Knights vs Sabres:
Knights are likely to cover the -1.5 but it’s not overwhelmingly so. No bet.
Rangers Kreider to score +140
Rangers K’Andre Miller to score +750 if he plays
Miller was out for personal reasons last game but may be back for this one.
Boston vs Islanders draw +350 quarter unit
Nashville to score First in 1st period (no draw) +160
