A 2-1 night with the NHL Tips last night.

Scott liked the Leafs to bounce back from a slump and they were able to do that trampoline style with a big 7-2 win over the Devils. Some clinical finishing there.

With all the chances in Philly he liked the Flyers to snap their losing run and they were able to do that with a solid and hard fought victory over the Wings.

Both picks were in regulation.

He lost with Jets over Kings because the worst team in the West thumping the best team in the West is just your run of the day hockey variance.

A heads up that things may be a bit disjointed the next couple of weeks as I’m heading to Scotland for Christmas. So might be a bit hard in regard to the timezones – plus odds not being out etc – and just general Christmas plans. We’ll do our best but there may be days where we have very low write-ups etc due to time constraints.

Also if you caught my fireball popsicles post from the other day – the apple cider ones were the clear winners. 1/2 cup Fireball whiskey (maybe a splash more), 2 1/2 cups of apple cider and 1/3 cup of red/cherry Grenadine (mostly for the red colour). Absolutely incredible.

Two games tonight – Capitals look to make it 6 in a row as they host the Penguins, and the Habs and Avs both look to bounce back following a loss.

Capitals vs Penguins Betting Tips:

Just seems silly NOT to back the Capitals here. The odds are based so much more on the team names than anything else.

The Penguins do usually rise to the occasion when facing the Caps – both teams do. And even though the Penguins were struggling back in November they still made a game of it with the Caps winning that one 2-1.

It’s hard not to take the Capitals though. They’re on a roll, they’ll be up for this game and Penguins still look shaky away. Caps looked to have some issues in that Canes game but they managed to get the points in OT against Canes and Sabres.

They’re coming off a small rest that I think they needed. Penguins are looking better for sure but there is still issues there. Neither goaltender is really stepping up when they need to. Murray is projected to be in net and he hasn’t had it easy with the Caps – while he has logged 5 wins out of 9 games he’s rocking a .875 save percentage with 3.93 GAA.

Very possible the Pens offense step up which would make the over appealing but that Pens offense is iffy at times and I feel Caps are the play. Pens racked up 42 shots on Holtby last time out with just the one goal to show from it which is also a factor.
