Only 1 tip yesterday and we won it.

We had the Blues to beat the Oilers and they did 4-2.

The Canucks beat the Ducks 2-1 in overtime to extend their win streak to 7 games under new coach Boudreau. Boudreau is the 3rd coach in NHL history to start 7-0 with a new team.

The IIHF announced they the remainder of the 2022 World Junior Championship has been canceled due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19.  This is terrible news for all the players.  This is a huge moment in any hockey players career and one not all can experience.

A busy night of hockey with 7 games.

Canadiens vs Hurricanes Betting Tips:

There really isn’t any play for this game.   The Hurricanes are the heavy favorites.

The Canadiens have a long list of players out with Covid and other injuries.  They have gone 2-6-2 over their last 10 games.  The Canes have win 2 in a row and will ne looking to extend their home win streak to 4 games.

To get any value at all on the Canes we would need to take them -1.5 and even that is just above our minimum coming in at around 1.74.  An easy skip for this one.

Lightning vs Panthers Betting Tips:

These are always good games.

The Lightning have been a decent team this year despite having a bunch of their stars miss time with various injuries.

The Panthers are at home where they have been money going 15-3-0.

Normally I would take the Panthers as they are at home.  But it’s it’s Lightning and it’s tough to bet against the defending back to back Stanley Cup Champs.   Skipping this one.

Predators vs Jackets Betting Tips:

The Predators had their win streak stopped at 7 games last night when they lost to the Capitals.  The allowed Saros to get worked over in the 1st period giving up 3 goals and that’s a tough hole to climb out of.

The Jackets are 2-7-1 over last 10 and have 9 players out with injuries, 4 of them on the Covid protocol list.  They haven’t played since the 16th so thats a long break they are coming off of.

I think the Predators will win this game and they owe it to Saros to have a better start.

Sabres vs Islanders Betting Tips:

Both teams have had bad seasons so far.   The Sabres sit in 27th overall, the Isles 29th.

Tough game to call here when both have been bad and I have no confidence in either team to back them.

Flames vs Kraken Betting Tips:

Both teams on losing streaks.  The Flames have lost 4 in a row, the Kraken have dropped their last 3.

I would lean towards a Flames win as they have been a good road team this season going 11-4-2 away from Calgary.   But their recent results have me worried about taking them.   Another game I have to skip.

Flyers vs Sharks Betting Tips:

Flyers are the underdogs here and it may be worth it to throw a little something on them.

But the Sharks are a streaky team.  They will lose 3 or 4 in a row but respond with a shot winning streak. I can’t make it a tip but am leaning towards a Flyers win.

Canucks vs Kings Betting Tips:

It’s hard to bet against the Canucks right now.   They have been amazing since Boudreau took over and it’s only a matter of time until the take a loss with him as head coach.

The Kings haven’t been very good of late going 5-4-1 over their last 10 games and when at home they have gone 8-7-2.

I feel like the momentum the Canucks have going for them will give them the push needed to extend their win streak to 8 games.

I hope everyone has a Happy New Years this year! So frustrating for hockey players and fans with all the tournament and game cancellations.

Today; Nashville to win, moneyline

If the public is all over a game, it’s likely to be a bad bet, so being very cautious. Can’t trust the Carolina game enough to bet, or Vancouver or Calgary, so will watch games and not worry about it.

Basketball: Brooklyn can cover 5 points today.

Any thoughts on the Over in Habs v Carolina?
