A 1-0 night last night with the NHL Tips.

Despite the Habs snapping their 8 game losing streak, we just felt there was too much value on the Avs not to take them last night. The Avs bounced out to a 3-0 lead halfway through the game and the Habs just didn’t have it in them to overcome that. Was nice to see Landeskog scoring too.

It was an interesting night of hockey. There wasn’t too much we liked yesterday and I’m glad we decided to leave the Bruins game alone. We’ve been disappointed with the Hawks offence lately but had a feeling they might come to play here. Not enough to back but they were able to get the job done with a big 4-3 win in OT.

It’s Friday, December 6th and we’ve got five games on the board. A very interesting slate today with some tough games.

Canadiens at Rangers Betting Tips:

Man if the Habs win tonight then so be it but I gotta take the Rangers in this spot here.

Great price for a team who has only lost once in regulation in their last 7 games against a Habs team who – well we all know their record. Habs lost last night while Rangers are riding that nice win over Columbus. Good to see them bounce back.

Rangers have had a tough schedule lately but they’re loving it. This will be their third back to back set of games in 2 weeks and they’ve passed the 2nd leg both times. That first time was against the Habs 6-5 in Montreal.

The over is tempting here however I prefer to go with the value on the Rangers instead.

0.5u on Rangers to win incl OT/SO

Here are other game thoughts:

Coyotes at Penguins: I like the value on Arizona today at about 2.60. However they are on a back to back, and this will be their third road game in a row on the road. I believe they have only won one game in regulation on the 2nd leg of a B2B. Penguins are a team I just don’t have the confidence to back in this type of spot at the moment. Hope Kessel scores. I do think minimal value in that Coyotes line.

Blackhawks at Devils: I initially wrote this one as a tip on the over but decided against it. Here’s my thoughts:

This is a close one but I think there are just enough reasons to back the over here.

Blackhawks – we know how their offense is. They can be lethal. Then they just disappear. We saw this a lot in the 2nd half of last season and we’re seeing it again here. It’s a case of really just hoping they turn up. Against a team with the 2nd worst GAA I’ve got to think they do.

Then you have their opponents. Neither team has high scoring this season and are in the bottom 10 for that however Devils are refreshed, and have Alain Nasreddine in charge. That usually spells a fresh outlook. Unlike some coach firings though, the players seem quite unhappy at this one.

Kings at Oilers: I can’t advise it, but with a team like the Oilers my general rule is to bet on the best side of the coinflip. Kings are about 2.50 which is a nice price. I think Oilers probably take it but Kings have been solid lately and trounced the Oilers 5-1 back in November so I’ll probably back that myself.

Capitals at Ducks: Caps should take this one the odds just aren’t good enough for me. Ducks will be nice and rested and prepared for this one.
