The Blue Jackets did the business last night as we hoped.

A large part of that pick was Torts reading them the riot act. You see a lot of teams respond well when that happens. It’s not like it’s an instant formula for winning or anything, but we saw the drive out of the Jackets in that game.

They went down 2-0 in the 1st and the last thing they wanted was another tongue lashing. They were motivated and they kept fighting hard and they beat a damn solid Devils team for the W.

Speaking of fighting hard, the Vegas Knights managed to get a huge 4-3 victory over the Predators. The other day I said I thought the Preds would take that one so hopefully you did the right thing and bet on the Knights. I think any time I have a strong feeling about the Preds, even though I won’t tip them in any games probably for the rest of the season, I’ll mention it so you can bet the opposite.

A couple of hours after sending out the tips, Crawford was announced as in net for the Blackhawks. I posted in the comments and edited in the post that I’d advise taking them based on that. Although the Blackhawks didn’t win in regulation and had to fight from behind twice, they still threw in a damn good performance against the Sabres. Really they should have been up about 3-0 in the 1st not down 1-0. And I can’t believe Sharp didn’t wrap that one up right at the death.

It’s Saturday, December 9th and quite a few good games tonight. Canadiens look to turn their woes around as the Oilers visit. Jets take on the Lightning in the game of the night and the Knights visit Dallas looking for revenge and a 4th win in a row.

There’s really not much we like tonight to be honest. We’re flirting with unit betting for the tips and while we’re not ready to roll with it yet, I’m thinking that 0.5 unit, 1 unit and 2 unit bets are the way to go. Tonights would fall under the 0.5-1 unit range.

No tips for the early game although Wings seem to be a decent team momentum wise – they win a game in regulation they usually win the next one too. Wouldn’t hang my hat on it though.

If you’re a fan of historical data, Sens/Sharks the last 7 have went over 5.5. One of those that based on current form I wouldn’t advise but I’ll be chucking a small bet on it.

Canucks probably worth a small bet at that price and with their road form.

Quick write-ups today as I want to get these out before the early game so people can chat about it:

Coyotes vs Jackets Betting Tips:

We like the Jackets to remain focused after last nights game and come out on this one with the win. Their back to back stats are fairly underwhelming this season – most of them on the 2nd leg seem to go to OT. But mentality wise the way last nights game went, we like the Blue Jackets to log a convincing win here.

Jackets in Regulation

Panthers vs Avs Betting Tips:

Reimer in net for the Panthers again. I think we’ll see a similar performance from them as we did the Jets game while the Avs despite the losing run have generally fought hard. Reimer isn’t that hard to beat.

Avs offense has been good for a few goals lately and we’re going to back Over 6 Goals incl OT/SO in this one.

Lightning vs Jets Betting Tips:

The Jets bounce back streak came to an end but that was due to their goalie situation. Going to be interesting to see how things go here.

I believe Hellebuyck is in net but not many people can stop either of these offenses when they’re clicking.

Regardless of who is in net, we’re taking Over 6 Goals incl OT/SO.
