Only one tip yesterday and it was a win.

We had the Wild -1.5 if Nedeljkovic got the start for the Wings and he did.  This game got off to a quick start with the Wings needing only 4 minutes to take a 2-0 lead.  Another 4 minutes and the Wild had it tied at 2-2.  In the end it was the Wild winning 7-4.  Boldy scored a hat trick and Kaprizov scored twice.

The Leafs managed to score in the 1st,  3 times, and they best the Kraken 6-2.  Marner had a goal and 2 assists to reach 400 for his career.

Avoided taking the Jets which was a good thing as the Hawks won 3-1.  The Oilers won their 2nd game in a row when they beat the Sharks 3-0.  They outshot they Sharks 41-20.

9 games today.

Bruins vs Rangers Betting Tips:

The Rangers have won 2 in a row and are at home where they have gone 15-4-2.

The Bruins are still without 2 of their top line with Bergeron and Marchand out and are 1-2 over their last 3 games.

They played each other on November 26th and the Rangers won that one 5-2.

I’m going with the Rangers here.  They are at home and playing well and with the Bruins still without their guys it’s hard to back them at all.

Blues vs Senators Betting Tips:

The Blues are the favorites here.  The Sens have been playing some decent hockey going 3-2 over last 5 and two of the wins were against strong teams the Canes and Capitals.

Taking a Blues win in regulation is only 1.76 and with the way the Sens have been playing its tough to back the Blues -1.5.

I have to skip this game.

Islanders vs Sabres Betting Tips:

There is nothing I like for this game.

The Isles are on the road where they have gone 8-9-3, the Sabres at home have gone 7-12-4.

Just nothing jumps out at me for this game so it’s an easy skip.

Lightning vs Devils Betting Tips:

To get any value here we would need to take the Lightning -1.5 which would seem like the safe play.

But looking at the last few games for each team and I’m not so sure.  The Lightnings last 5 games were all decided by a single goal including just barely beating the Coyotes.

The Devils last 4 losses were by 2 or more so that works in the Lightnings favor.

I just have no confidence in them to win -1.5 for this one.  I personally will be betting it but I can’t make it a tip.

Flyers vs Penguins Betting Tips:

These are usually great games.

The Penguins are the favorites here and for good reason.   The Flyers have been bad all season and now have 11 players out.

I wanted to take the Pens -1.5 but the odds for that are only around 1.76 which just isn’t worth it.

Also thought about the over but the Flyers are ranked 27th in the league averaging only 2.51 per game. And the Pens defense has been solid allowing only 2.50 per game.

Capitals vs Predators Betting Tips:

The Caps have 61 points, the Preds have 60.

At home the Preds are 14-8-0, on the road the Caps are 14-5-4.

I feel like this should be a good game and it’s tough to call a winner.  The Preds have lost 3 of their last 4 but are at home here.  The Caps have also lost 3 of their last 4.

Just to close to call for me so I have to skip it.

Stars vs Avalanche Betting Tips:

The Avalanche continue to be a powerhouse.   They have won 2 in a row and have gone 9-0-1 over last 10.  They are at home here where they have been incredible this season going 21-2-2.

Like a lot of the games today, the odds make this almost unplayable.

These teams played on Sunday and it was the Avs winning 4-0 in Dallas.  With the way the Avs have played this season I’m comfortable taking them with the handicap here.

Avalanche -1.5

Everyone Else: 1.90 Odds at Bet365 (Americans: We recommend http://www.bovada.lv

Jackets vs Flames Betting Tips:

The Jackets have won 3 straight,  the Flames have won their last 6.

I like the Flames at home to win this game but the odds for that are shit. Regulation win is 1.52 and a -1.5 play is 1.83.

With the Jackets riding some momentum they should be able to keep this game close.

Oilers vs Kings Betting Tips:

Like Graeme, I also have a hard time betting on or against the Oilers.

They won last night so maybe they are about to turn things around and go on a run.  But I’m avoiding them until the give me a reason not to.

Scott, thoughts on Flames-CBJ Over? Thank you for the tips and insights.

To WIN on the Puckline: Flames
Lean to WIN Moneyline: Avs

A Flames win seems highly likely. Recent results show Columbus squeeking by the league’s worst teams for their win, and when facing offensively-talented teams, it’s a lobsided loss for them. Flames have legions of scorers, are going for the big season win and apply 60+ minutes of pressure. Not trying the Over, because can’t be sure Columbus will be allowed to contribute much.

Oilers are still trades away from hoping for consistency. As a better, they flat out scare me, similar to Winnipeg, Tampa, Toronto and sometimes the Avs when the Avs aren’t in tune. So no bet, even for O/U. Colorado is playing hot but plays down to poor teams, a bit of a worry, but Dallas should keep them attentive, resulting in an Avalanche win. RISK: Colorado is well rested and plays Vegas tomorrow (non-Division game in the same Conference) and then easy after that; so will they be 100% there tonight? Probably only 80%. I smell a risk. Avs have been known to take nights off.
