It was a night of good action in the NHL.

After some solid performances, the Kings got beaten by the Stars who were the better side overall. Stars won 2-0 to halt the Kings winning run.

That “great road team” The New York Rangers lost to the Habs and are now stats wise the worst road team in the NHL.

Mrazek had a rather quiet night for the Flyers as they beat the jackets 2-1, and Taylor Hall continued his run but it wasn’t enough as the Wild beat them 4-2. Devils pounded Stalock to no avail.

The Preds handed out a 7-1 pounding on the Sharks and it could have been more. Dell made 39 saves in that one.

Much quieter night tonight with just 5 games on the board. We were close to taking the Wild but their offense is what has been winning games for them on the road at the moment. and on the 2nd leg of a B2B I’ve noticed the offense takes the night off. So just the one play.

Penguins vs Hurricanes Betting Tips:

The Penguins are absolutely roasting hot right now. They can’t stop the goals going in but they’re outscoring their opponents most games.

At home they’re a beast and their road form is fairly good too.

Statistically this one is a real tight one and the Hurricanes get the edge on a lot of the home/road metrics, but the way the Pens are surging I’ve got to believe they’ll do it here.

Pens Money Line – 1u play.

I love the pens to win tonight. They are 5-1 on the road when favorited between -101 and -140. While Carolina is a horrible 1-7 at home when they are -120 to +120.

I am going ML (-120) . I with a little sprinkle on reg (+140)

TMLnation

Bad losses yesterday, luckily I cashed out tampa -1.5 and washington reg bets for a small profit, lost columbus, colorado and san jose, in played calgary reg and dallas reg when games were tied (ended up even on the night), today I like Minnesota reg, Pitts reg, Winnepeg reg, Sharks reg. Only concern is the lack of line movement with heavy public money on Pittsburgh and san jose. Anyone have any incites as to why the line isn’t moving???

Oliver Trigg

Because Hawks have a backup backup backup goalie in net lol. With regards to Pens, well they’re just a far better outfit than Canes.

TMLnation

Ya I was wondering why the odds were not worse on the two teams. Thought pens would be at least -130 and san jose -130 as well

Oliver Trigg

Only reason I can think is Pens aren’t as good on the road, and San Jose off a heavy loss and b2b spot.

TMLnation

Thanks man, was just wondering if I was missing something, apparently not I feel like San Jose will be motivated after 7-1 loss and Chicago isn’t the same team they used to be. And yeah Pens not always motivated but at those odds I’m going to let it ride

Oliver Trigg

I think this is the time of year you’ll see less teams taking the night off so to speak. Points matter so much right now, Pens 1 point below Caps, San Jose got 3 teams who could take their place etc. And I’ll say it again, an awful Hawks team with a rookie goalie. San Jose SHOULD NOT be a dog, even in a b2b. Tonight is going to be a good night, got a feeling 😉 !

Syd

Think the bookie looks at a team on a winning or losing streak too. Pens have won 5 so the longer the streak, the closer to even or plus the odds get.

Syd

Hey G, Habs won!
Both Pens & Canes have had 4 days off and on a btob.
Stats: Pens: 3.16 GF/ 2.92GA
vs Canes 2.65GF/ 2.95GA
Last 5gms: Pens 5W, 23GF/10GA Murray (not confirmed) 4-1-0;
Canes 3L, 14GF/15GA Ward 2-3-0 (dailyfaceoff)
Season series: Pens 3-1 Jan, Canes 4-0 Jan, Canes 2-1 Dec
*Like the Pens chances & ML odds
make it worth the risk.
No doubt the Knights are heavy favourites vs Canucks. Odds in Reg (not available yet) may not be worth it, but-1.5 is definitely possible. GL tonight!

Western Rattlers

To WIN in regulation: Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Vegas
Lean: Minnesota Over

Vegas is rested; they had their day off, are on a long home game stretch and have been laying on the lumber to weaker teams recently, and without Neal (back soon), they’ve been winning. Vancouver has beaten Boston and Dallas recently, but is inconsistent and has poor defensive. Wild against Rangers, both teams leak goals.

Syd

May have to rely on the Wild to get ‘Over’6 (Bodog)
NYR only scored 1 on Niemi late in the 3rd P and that took a PP. In their last 5gms Rangers are 10/GF and Dubnyk is 11GA. On the flipslide, Lundqvist (notconfirmed) is 19GA & the team 22GA. Good luck!

Oliver Trigg

Hiya guys,

A decent night last night with my plays on Habs and Flames coming through. Unfortunately, Leafs didn’t manage a reg win and Kings winning run ended. I ended up actually playing Wild and Flyers, but my bankroll didn’t allow for a very big play so I ended up with a small loss due to over confidence in the Kings and some poor NBA plays. However, today is a day fro profit.

Wild Reg (75%) – Unlike S&G I love the Wild tonight, and point to their 7-2 record versus the East, and Rangers 1-7 record against the central. The Central is so tightly contested right now, and the Wild need points. The Rangers are likely again with the rookie Georgiyev in net tonight, no Grabner (their top scorer) who has now gone to the Devils and missing a fair few other keep parts. Both sides are on back to backs, and honestly if the Rangers can manage to lose to the awful Habs they’ll manage to lose again this season to the Wild. Rangers right now are resigned to losing, in the name of rebuilding. Everything points to a wild win here, and I’ll happily play it.

Pens Reg/ML (65%/70%) – The Pens are back looking like a team that can challenge for the SC, and have lost just 5 of their last 20. The Canes are going through their little habit of win three lose three, and although that should point to a Canes win then tonight, with the way the Pens are playing they’re the play. The Canes have lost their last 3 to rather poor teams in the Devils and Isles, and the Pens won the reverse fixture 3-1 back in July. The Pens are just 1 point behind the Caps for 1st place in the Met, and they’ll take it tonight.

Sharks ML/Reg (65%/60%) – Honestly, the Sharks are dogs here? Yeah they got thumped last night by the Preds, but the Hawks are no Predators, they’re more like pigeons. A humiliated team is a dangerous team, and with the Flames and Kings just 3 points behind them, and the Ducks 1 point behind them the Sharks will be out to save face and stay in playoff contention tonight with a win. The Hawks managed a penalty shootout win over the Sens, but asking them to win 2 games in a row is asking a lot right now, even with more rest. The Sharks went into St Louis as a dog and won it, and if they can do that they can definitely beat the dismally bad Hawks who are of course still without decent goaltending. Great dog play.

Vegas Reg (75%) – The Canucks can be problematic, and have illustrated that with recent thumpings of the Stars and Bruins. That being said, the Canucks have won just 5 of their last 20 on the road, and 6 overall of their last 20. The Knights have faced the Canucks twice, once in preseason and once in November and won by a combined 8 goals between the two matches. In a nutshell, Vegas is never a team I really want to bet against and that especially true at home. The Canucks CAN be feisty, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they will be, better teams have come to Vegas and tried and failed. Vegas should sweep the Canucks quite easily, to extend their lead over the Preds by another 2 points in the West.

GL! (May add NBA tips later)

Oliver,

Where can you find record of teams against specific divisions like rangers against central? I know odd shark just does east, west and division. Did you go through the entire schedule and do it on your own? Always wanted to find a site that broke it down like that.

Oliver Trigg

Lol yeah, I often do just do it myself if I can’t find any relevant stats. A few sites such as winnersandwhiners and statsalt give a few stats like that (although be warned sometimes they are wrong).

Syd

Can see why you like the Wild tonight. Rangers are a mess. 2-8-0 and 10GF last 10 gms; Organization is dealing with trades, trade rumours, injuries
Unless the Rangers dig deep, this a big opportunity for the Wild to get the win in Reg.

Lendo

Rangers also just traded away Grabner to New Jersey I believe. I have no hope for NYR for the rest of the season.

Syd

Ditto:)

Oliver Trigg

In full tank mode. No Nash, Grabner, McDonagh, Krieder, Staal, Shattenkirk…… skeleton team

Lendo

How does Vegas -1.5 sound?

I’m seeing 2.1 here.

Oliver Trigg

I reckon its a good play!

Benson

Agree.

Lendo

Decent play. Would’ve been a neutral night otherwise.

Marius Larsen

My bet for tonight is Wild, Vegas -1.5, Stockton and Silvertips all to win in reg! Good luck guys

Lazzo

This Wild/Rangers Total of 6 is too high IMO. Oddsmakers basing this off Minnesota’s last couple games. But tonight, Doobie is back in net for Minnesota & King Henrik for the Rangers. Both teams played last night. I honestly don’t believe this reaches past 6 goals. Minnesota isn’t a high scoring team, last two games are a rarity. Rangers have key players injured and not starting(coach’s decision.

I also would not risk laying -170 on the Wild on the road. Sure they have a couple game winning streak going but so did the Kings and look what happened last night. I know the Stars are better then the Rangers but I don’t like going against a club that’s lost several games in a row and at home.

I wouldn’t be shocked at a Rangers win at all.

Penguins seems like a trap at -110, canes have won 2 out of the 3 games they played this season and desperate to climb back into wild card contention. Even thought Carolina 0-6 SU, 0-6 ATS in last 6 vs division, they will be putting out an A+++ effort tonight at home.

I think the Knights in regulation or puckline seems the best option. But we’ve seen vancouver dismantle elite teams the past couple weeks. They smoked Dallas and Boston by several goals.

Wouldn’t be surprised if St Louis gets off the losing streak tonight at home. Their coach bit into them last night, losers f 4 straight I believe as well. Jets aren’t the same on the road and are coming off a 10 game homestand.

Since the Pens and Blues aren’t expensive at all it wouldn’t be a terrible idea playing them.

Gonna dig in some more to see my final Card but it will probably involve MIN/NYR U6, Blues, Vegas Reg/PL. I have a odd feeling not to touch pittsburgh tonight.

My overall NHL Picks are 148-110 on the year.

I post my plays on twitter for free @themikeypick

Syd

Canes definitely need the win and had 4 days off to work on their game. If the Pens are overconfident, the Canes could get lucky;

Oliver Trigg

Berube in net tonight for Hawks, last (and first) appearance in relief he allowed 2 goals on 14 shots and has a .899% save. Dont understand why on earth hawks are dogs. I’m going to jump all over Sharks. Sharks will want to prove a point tonight.

Lendo

Im with you on this. I don’t have massive confidence in San Jose, but 0.5u might do the trick. ML, of course.

Western Rattlers

Chicago wins it 3-1. I lose this bet. I didn’t have “massive” confidence in San Jose, but I do expect them to show up to win. I’d love to see the strategy planning for teams now, heading into the heart of the playoff race. A game with a lot of chaos in it now takes on more unpredictability to season’s end, for many reasons. The NBA is looking so reasonable, and soccer too! LOL

Lendo

My lack of confidence is precisely why I didn’t play the bet!

Western Rattlers

I’m really liking the Sharks to win this. Could be trade considerations rattling Chicago’s lineup. Crawford is out with “vertigo”. Sharks were just trounced by Nashville. Losing was excusable, but a 7-1 result is angering, and the playoff race, etc., yes, Sharks take it!

Oliver Trigg

And again, how can anyone put Hawks as a favourite right now lol

magus1349

Rangers ML, Penguins, Blues and Sharks with 1u.

John Uduak

Please what do you mean’MONEY LINE
Thank you

magus1349

Kris- -na

1 eur, wow, you are the real deal lol

Ben Rowland

where are your bet slips?

Oliver Trigg

Ugh not you again mate, come to give someone else shit. What is your issue ?

Ben Rowland

a bloke posts proper bank roll management and gets grief?

Lendo

Ben

It’s someone’s own choice as to whether they post proof of bets or not.

Kris-na gave his comment in jest.

This is an area for open discussion on teams, matchups and likelihood’s of match outcomes + odds.

Here’s my daily tip – stop asking for proof. It makes you look silly, to be honest.

Lendo

It’s GBP actually, if you look carefully.

Oliver Trigg

I don’t like the Blues in that parlay…

Lendo

Yeah. I hear you. It was only £1.

I had a balance of £21, so after using 2u on other wagers I figured hell, this is 0.1u. Worst that could happen is I lose. Turns out I did, on more than just StL!

Mark

Coyle, Stastny, Tierney, Letang to score GL all 🙂

Geir Aage R Jensen

Blues win Reg

Beth

Knights game to go over???
Anyone else feel that
Maybe 4-2
Better yet 5-3 ?
I would love some feed back

Oliver Trigg

Yes easily. Canucks know only way they win is outscoring Knights. Their D is prone to leakages, and the Knights also are not a defensive minded team.

Beth

Thanks Oliver!!
I think I’ll take the over and the knights for my late bet
Took Penquins and Wild! If that goes well I’ll spend some on the knights ?
Good luck tonight ?

Oliver Trigg

It went well ? On to more cash with the Knights.

Beth

Here we go!!!

Beth

???

Mark

St. Louis 0:3 amazing 🙁

Calle Medin

Sharks will be my tips tonight – 2u.

InkedFive0
