We went 2-1 with the tips yesterday.

Our first win was the Blackhawks to beat the Blues in regulation and they did but this was a close one. This was tied with just over 5 minutes left but Anisimov scored to make it 3-2 and Kero added an empty net goal for the Hawks who won 4-2.

Our other win was the Flames to beat the Hurricanes.  The Canes scored first but Calgary scored the next 3 and held on for the 3-1 win.  The Flames are now in 7th place in the West with 70 points, 3 points ahead of the 8th place Blues and 6 points ahead of the 9th place Kings.

Our loss was our tip of the Rangers to beat the Jackets but the Jackets kept scoring, like the night before when they put up 7,  and won 5-2.

The Lightning traded Ben Bishop to the Kings for Peter Budaj, a prospect and a draft pick.  Budaj had played well in Quicks absence so now the Kings have a two headed monster in goal.  It makes you wonder why the Kings felt Bishop would be a better backup than Budaj. It may have something to do with the upcoming expansion draft.

The Wild acquired Martin Hanzel from the Coyotes for a 1st and 2nd round pick.  The Wild were already strong down the middle and just got better with the 6’6″ center who is strong on faceoffs.

Canadiens vs Devils Betting Tips:

The Canadiens are playing through a rough streak right now going 3-6-1 over the last 10 games.

The Devils are also struggling and are on a 3 game losing skid.

The Canadiens have had success against the Devils going 7-1-2 over the last 10 against them including their 3-1 win on January 20th of this year.

Despite their struggles the Habs are a decent team and I like their chances in this game.  They’re currently in 5th in the East but are only 5 points ahead of the 8th place Maple Leafs.  It’s that time of year where the wins are much more significant than at other times and the Habs know that.  So when they take on a team who the have success against they need to jump all over it to ensure a postseason for them.

Canadiens win incl OT/SO

Not bad at all for yesterday.
I went only 1 bet and it brought me + 2.22 units.
Though I was sure in PL, but odds didnt changed, so it was only 2.50 with no reason to bet.

Tonight only one small bet, due to lack of matches:

Devils – Canadiens Over5 OT SO @ 1.85 (1 unit)

Johnny Hockey

Hmmm… Montoya will start. Thoughts?

Henry Del Valle Sr.

Montoya is actually not that bad. I smell an under for some reason. hmmmm…

SanDiegoBruinsD

Montoya is very inconsistent. He shutout Penguins but gave up 10 to the Habs. In between he’s usually good for 2+ goals, with a lot of 3 and 4 goal games this season.

Johnny Hockey

Pretty tough tonight. Also I’m thinking about Tampa…

Henry Del Valle Sr.

I like Tampa but do not like the odds. Drouin is back for TB and that’s huge.

Johnny Hockey

Yeah. Tough night. Maybe better to stay away…

Henry Del Valle Sr.

I’m keeping it simple tonight with 2 units on TB TT over and 1 unit on the Over 5.

Henry Del Valle Sr.

Montoya gave up 10 goals to his own team????? LOL He definitely stinks!

SanDiegoBruinsD

Doh! I meant to say CBJ

Henry Del Valle Sr.

lol yes.

Smoking Barrel

What about Wild win?

Henry Del Valle Sr.

It’s a tough call, well…tougher than normal. Wild with a terrific home record, very good history against Kings too. But you have the Wild coming off their bye week and the Kings coming in with Johnny Quick back in goal. I know it was only one game but the Kings really seemed energized at their goalie’s return. This is a stay away game for me.

SanDiegoBruinsD

I like LAK for the reasons you mentioned, plus the added value

Henry Del Valle Sr.

And that big trade with AZ…that could spark them too. Not that they didn’t need a spark. Now the line has dropped to -125 on Minny I think there’s enough value. I didn’t like it at -160 when it opened.

LendoD

I’ve quickly realised that NHL provides unpredictable results. I’m joining you on Wild first period using a free £5 ($7ish) bet.

SanDiegoBruinsD

Parise and Pominville out sick

why such high odds for ottawa?

Steve Dimase

NJ ML. Tampa PL. not sure but thinking of taking LA

Mojo

Habs feel like the best play for a win.
Interested to know thoughts on LA/Minny. I have a feeling the Kings get a big win
TB/Ottawa feels like a complete stay away

Feeling a Habs and Under 5.5 Kings and Under 5.5 is the play today?

SanDiegoBruinsD

Zach Parise and Jason Pominville out sick tonight, Hanzal in. Quickie back for LAK which could give them boost.

it’s a weird night

Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

Hoffman and Stones are back playing tonight for the sens and Andrei Vasilevskiy is net for tampa tonight, they traded bishop to the kings, there is value on Sens (ML) in my opinion, but with Condon in net, I’m not so sure.

LeDemonBlond

Kings ML
Habs ML

LostRebel

With Montoya in the net for the habs, im going for devils and over!

SanDiegoBruinsD

This just in: Zach Parise and Jason Pominville out sick tonight, Hanzal in. Quickie back for LAK which could give them boost.
