Another crazy night of hockey last night.  We went 1-1 with the tips.

Our win was the Bruins to win in regulation against the Red Wings and they did 3-2.  This was the 21st game in a row that Tuukka Rask gained a point.  He’s the 11th goalie to accomplish this and the 4th to do so with the Bruins.

We also had over 5.5 in the Flyers vs Hurricanes game but this one stayed low when the Flyers won 2-1 in OT.

During the Devils – Senators game there was some shady business.  Taylor Hall crushed Alex Burrows with a nice clean hit only to have Burrows jump Hall and punch and knee him in the head repeatedly.  I have never liked Burrows.   He pulls off this kind of bullshit all the time.  When someone wants to fight him he hides.  This should be a lengthy suspension .

Fleury made his emotional return to Pittsburgh when the Knights were in town.  The hometown crowd gave Fleury a nice ovation.  The Pens won 5-4

Only 3 games tonight and only one tip.

Bruins vs Rangers Betting Tips:

As we all know, the Bruins have been amazing recently.  They won last night which was their 8th win over their last 10 games.

The Rangers are struggling.  They have lost 3 in a row and 6 of the last 7.  They now find themselves in last place in the Metro division.

The Bruins get Brad Marchand back after he has missed the last 5 games after being suspended.

It’s hard to bet against the Bruins and now that they get Marchand back he’s only going to help them.  I would have gone with a regulation win but it’s the Rangers success against Boston over their last 10 meetings that has me off of that.

Leafs ML
Bruins reg
Kings reg

Marchand and Marner to score

timo likavčan

you sure about Kings ? i feel like oilers might be pretty hyped after lightings win

Matthew

Kings won at home 11 times in a row against Oilers, they are coming off a 6-0 victory and are well rested. They also need points in the tight play-off run in the western conference. I think they won’t miss 3 points at home game against very unstable Oilers. That’s enough for me to bet on Kings.

Matthew

3/3 🙂

Syd

Thanks Scott.
Preds/ Leafs tough to call.
Last 5 gms: Leafs 17GF/ 7GA Andersen btob shutouts; Nash 19GF/ 9GA Rinne 2SO; similar stats suggest a draw; GF suggest Over 5.5; Could be the battle of the goalies: Andersen 2.66/ Rinne GA or Saros 2.33 (Preds on a btob) Good luck tonight!

Western RattlersD

To WIN in reg: Boston
Lean: Toronto Over
Boston’s back-to-back road game situation I don’t see as a caution light. The Rangers are sluggish, having a very difficult time scoring more than two goals, and Boston is having a very difficult time scoring less than three, while also having strong defense. Very recent trends are for Toronto going Over tonight, but’s not a longer term trend, so not confident in it.

Thanks for a great site S&G !

Do you guys, or someone else here know about a good NHL podcast or talk show except “On the fly”. I’m looking for something to listen at while I’m driving my way to long drive to work every morning!

As for the tips tonight, I also want to go with Bruins, but the Rangers stats against them scares me off tonight.. They have to win sometime?

Syd

Hi Eivind,
You’re right, Rangers could win tonight when you consider, they’re 17-9-3 @home, Lundquist was better vs Dallas making 41saves and they’ve beaten them twice. However, those wins were in Nov 4-2 (empty netter) and Marchand was injured. In Dec 3-2OT and Marchand scored a goal; He obviously has an impact on their matchups in or out of the lineup. Khudobin is 10-3-4 and 2.33 GA. If you’re scared, then pass or consider a small bet ML. No need to put pressure on yourself:) Rangers may have a better chance with the Flames on Friday.

No NHL podcast in particular. The only gambling related podcast I listen to regularly are Against All Odds with Cousin Sal.

magus1349

Predators, Rangers and Oilers with 1.5u;
Subban, Hayers and Lucic with 0.5u.

magus1349

Also play a crazy combo.
Over 1.0 in first period Predators, Rangers and Oilers with 5u.

Why not, great combo, odds are nice.

good luck.

Rangers win Reg

Juri Safoshin

Thinking of:

Toronto Maple Leafs – Nashville Predators over 5.5
Rangers win with OT
Los Angeles Kings – Edmonton Oilers, taking draw here, so X fun stake, 0.25 units

AHL:
Rochester Americans and Rockford IceHogs

OHL:
Hamilton Bulldogs

Syd

Hi Judi,
Coaches tend to tell their teams to focus on defense after a high scoring gm, but that doesn’t always happen so this one could go either way.

Juri Safoshin

Fair enough, luckily put a small stake there, thank you.

Oliver Trigg

Hi Guys,

Been busy with uni work, so took a little break. Light schedule today so will include a few NBA plays too.

POTD – Bruins Reg (70%) – Marchand comes back from a 5 game suspension tonight, and you can expect the team to be fired up. I see the Bruins getting some revenge for their home loss to the Rangers earlier this season. The Rangers have had great success at home to the Bruins, but have won just 7 of their last 20. The Rangers are playing like the Sabres right now, and without Buchnevich, Kreider or Shattenkirk and probably no Vesey are not going to get much joy here. ML doesn’t really hold much value, and the great disparity in form between these two sides I’m happy to take reg. Bruins are just far too good.

Preds ML (55%)- the leafs are looking like a much better team having won 5 of their last 6 games, but the value is all on the Preds here. Preds have won 4 of the last 5 meetings in Toronto, and will want revenge after losing on home turf earlier in the season to the leafs. This Preds side has the capability to score a lot of goals, and the Leafs defense still has holes (the ducks putting 4 passed them). This is a pure value play.

Kings ML (65%) – I don’t trust the Oilers to string together wins and it’s as simple as that. The Kings responded to a shut out hammering by the Preds to inflict a shut out hammering on the Coyotes. Pressure is mounting for the Kings to get back in the playoff race, and they know they need to do it at home. As irrelevant as history sometimes is, the Kings have won the last 11 meetings at home to the Oilers and I’m not about to step in front of that. The Kings are the Oilers bogey team, with no Nugent-Hopkins and no motivation other than pride I won’t look at taking the Oilers. This Oilers side has flashes of greatness and then collapse again, I would bet on another collapse tonight against a motivated kings side.

NBA Picks –
Jazz -6.5 – only pick for now. Will add more later.

Oliver Trigg

Adding Cavs ML & Cavs +2.5

Eivind Kjartansson

Going to go for Hank and Rangers tonight. Feels like the air is cleared in the Rangers dressing room aswell with the trade roumurs. Nice odds at a home game against a team they have real good stats against. Marchand is back, maybe that interrupt their strike in some how..

Also going with Over 5.5 in the kings oilers game. Looking at their recent games and situations their in it might go to an high scoring one.

I’m also adding Houston win against Miami in NBA. Last time they played Houston won 99-90 (23jan)
Miami have lost 4 in a row and Houston have won their last 5.

Putting these three in a two of three system gives me a good feeling.

Good Luck!

Oliver Trigg

Bruins haven’t lost in regulation forever. Fading the hottest team in the league is a bad idea. Ride the hot hand.

Oliver Trigg

Also on Rockets- Miami have only lost their last 4 by an average of 4 points. I’m not completely sold on it.

Matthew

I agree with you on Kings and Bruins, however, I don’t see a point betting against a home team on fire, which is coming off a 7 goal victory…

Oliver Trigg

A four goal leakage and the inability to hold the lead most of the game. The Leafs wins over the rangers, hawks , isles, ducks and sens don’t impress me that much. Only Dallas was pretty good. Preds are better than all those sides.

Matthew

On the other hand, Preds allowed 3 goals in one period against Isles and were very lucky to not lose in regulation. So, I think you have to consider both sides.

Arto Reinikainen

Im going for the Leafs.. i think they’re going to follow up that Ducks game with a solid performance. Man they’ve been playing some good hockey lately.

Same can be said about the Preds but they stole that game against Isles, Forsberg is out, Fiala might be out and the Leafs swept them last season. Im fine with a 2.40 price in reg

Syd

Hi Arto,
Still undecided on the winner in this one but Preds are bound to lose one game on this road trip playing 3gms in 4 nights. Between the Leafs, Sens and Habs, Leafs have the best chance. Sens and Habs could steal one if Preds are fatigued. GL

Bulletproof

Leaferzzzz look good??

Mark

really curious about Rangers and Bruins game.
Subban DeBrusk Doughty to score a goal.
GL all 🙂

Greyhound

Does anyone else also fancy Marchand to score after coming back?

Matthew

I bet on him

Mojo

TAKE A BOSTON/LA parlay and don’t look back!!!

Small lean to the Rockets -4.5 in the NBA

Bulletproof

Rangers ML +130
Rangers score 3 or 4 +149

Bulletproof

lol?

Oliver Trigg

Don’t know why you’d take a team that’s won just 6 games in their last 20 with key players out. I respect that it’s gambling, but I don’t understand your thinking on that one.

Bulletproof

I like the 3 goal play if I think the team has a shot. lol I actually thought Rangers might show up lol call me crazy but I really did. Boston on back to back, Rangers owning them. Yes, I’m very clear on Boston destroying teams. I play trends and inside info. Have a look back the last 2 weeks or so with my picks and ask me again if I think I know what I’m doing.

My bank roll can afford more than a few bad nights bud.

Graeme (BetNHL.ca)

I don’t think the Rangers were a bad bet by any means regardless of the result. Actually when I was discussing the tips with Scott in the morning, the Bruins were at 1.83 odds at the time and I was only willing to risk 0.5u on them. Part of that was due to Bostons struggles at MSG over the last little while and the Rangers always being up for games plus the Rangers history over the Bruins. It’s a bet that could have easily swung the other way if the odds were slightly different. I would have possibly taken the Rangers at 2.25 or 2.30 for 0.5u.

Oliver Trigg

Bruins also the best defensive team in the NHL… score 3 or 4 without key offensive players?? Why?

Bulletproof

lol. Really ? lol

K thx, you’ll be the first I ask when I need a heavy favourite lock !

Your clueless pal

I’ll start picking 5 games every night and hope 3 hit. Ok ? lol

All in fun.

Oliver Trigg

Funny how you say I always play heavy favourite “locks”. Never called anything a “lock” before. Also played reg so it wasn’t-140 actually. I got +130. I also pick dogs quite frequently. You on the other hand talk of ‘inside info’ and think you’re a godly handicapper when you hit a few dogs lol.

Bulletproof

lol. Ok… Thank you.

You can comment all you like and say what ever you like. I’m not a 18 year old teenager and have zero interest in continuing this with you. How ever I am pretty witty as I’ve been told so if your going to fire a comment I think it’s only fair I do respond if I feel the need.

Honestly, who isn’t hot and cold in this business, your full of shit if you stat other wise, the best of the best cap around 60%.

Water under the bridge with myself and you, id rather work with you and fu$k the books then caring on once a week and comment back and forth like little kids.

I love seeing people win, I’m NOT a pro capper, far from it. I’ve been at it a very long time and that’s all that needs to be said.

Cheerzzz

Oliver Trigg

Water under the bridge, yet you keep chatting sh*t. K.

Bulletproof

K… You win lol. Relax and enjoy the humour here. I’m NOT going anywhere and I’m assuming by your attention seeking stories you write your not either. So let’s call it a day on our litttle tiff with one another show some respect to the site and move on. Just so we’re clear, if you choose to make a comment on a losing wager that I make and I feel your challenging my intelligence with the sport of hockey be prepared for a smart azz remark back. This site rocks and it’s fun to chat back and forth.

Best of luck the rest of the way, you better go on a hell of a run because I’ll be watching your plays like a hawk lol

Cheerzzzz
