9 games yesterday.

Had the Sens vs Habs game to over 6.5.  The Sens did their part but the Habs did not when Ottawa won 4-1.

Also had the Flyers to beat the Lightning.  Before the game started Hart was granted an indefinite leave of absence for personal reasons which really hurt the Flyers.   The Lightning won 6-3.

Hintz scored twice and added an assist when the Stars beat the Wings 5-4.  The Oilers beat the Jackets 4-1 for their 14th straight win.

We have 7 tonight which is busier than the usual Wednesday.

Jets vs Maple Leafs Betting Tips:

The Jets lost their last game but are still 8-2-0 last 10.  They are 1st in goals allowed, 7th in shots allowed and 12th in GPG.   On the road they have gone 14-5-2.

The Leafs are 5-4-1 in last 10.  They are at home for this one where they have gone 10-9-2 which isn’t exactly encouraging.   They’re 5th in GPG,  7th in SOG and 21st in GAPG.

With the Jets ability to play strong defensively it has me worried about taking the over in this game.  And Samsonov got his first win in a long time in his last game which the Leafs may rally around.  And the Jets play of late is also something that is hard to overlook.

Coyotes vs Panthers Betting Tips:

These teams played on January 2nd and the Panthers won that 4-1.

The Coyotes are on a 2 game win streak but are 4-5-1 in last 10.  They are 19th in goals, 30th in shots and 13th in goals allowed.  On the road they are 8-10-3.

The Panthers won their last game and are 6-2-2 last 10.  They are 15th in GPG, 2nd in shots, 4th in GAPG and 2nd in SOGA.  At home they have gone 13-7-2.

I think the Panthers would win this home game but it would have to be in regulation and 3 of their last 6 needed overtime so not for me.

Hurricanes vs Bruins Betting Tips:

The Canes are 7-2-1 in last 10 but 12-10-1 on the road.  They rank 9th in goals, 5th in shots, 14th in allowed goals and 1st in shots allowed.  On the road they are 12-10-1.

The Bruins are on a 5 game win streak.  They’re 16th in goals, 17th in shots, 4th in goals allowed and 24th in shots on goal allowed.  At home they have been great going 16-3-3.

I would think that with the win streak they are on the Bruins should win but I think these teams matchup well and I’m passing.

Capitals vs Avalanche Betting Tips:

The Caps played yesterday and lost to the Wild 5-3.  They have lost 2 in a row and rank 30th in goals,  29th in shots and 12 in GAPG. On the road they are 9-10-2.

The Avalanche are 7-3-0 in last 10 and rank 2nd in GPG, 9th in shots, 20th in GAPG and 9th in SOGA.  At home they have gone 18-5-0.

The Avs are favored here so much that we would have to take them -1.5.  But looking at their numbers I think they can do it.

Avalanche -1.5

Blues vs Canucks Betting Tips:

The Blues played yesterday and beat the Flames 4-3.  They’re on a 2 game win and rank 26th in GPG and 18th in GAPG.  On the road they have gone 9-12-1.

The Canucks have won 3 in a row and are 8-1-1 last 10.  They are 1st in goals per game and 2nd in goals allowed.   Both stats are a huge reason they are the top team in the league.  They are at home where they have gone 17-4-1.

With the Blues picking up the win yesterday they might build off of that and keep this game close.  I do lean towards the Canucks but I’m staying away.

Blackhawks vs Kraken Betting Tips:

An easy pass for me here.

Sabres vs Kings Betting Tips:

Sabres played yesterday and lost 4-2 to the Ducks.

The Kings continue to struggle.  Over the last 10 games they are 2-4-4.  They’re 14th in goals and 3rd in shots and have had good defensive numbers ranking 3rd in both GAPG and SOGA.  At home they have gone 8-8-6.

With the Sabres playing on a back to back and the Kings recent play and home results I’m passing on this game.

Seattle win

WesternRattlerD

To WIN moneyline: Canuckleheads
Full game UNDER 7.0: Buff/LA
Prop: Chicago’s Blackwell, Over 1.5 shots

I’m off the Avalanche game because they have a few high talent players out and Washington won’t interest them. They should win, but the All-Star break is coming up and the Avs only have 1 more game, so they at some point may decide to siesta in the interests of recovering from injuries. The moneyline is probably safe because the Caps just don’t have it this year, and the Avs can outskate them to such a margin, but I’m avoiding it. Good news for Colorado is that Landeskog was seen skating with the team, but as yet still no news about a return date, and commentators aren’t expecting anything soon. Maybe by the time of the playoffs?

Blackwell should have opportunities to shoot, as the Kraken aren’t defensive brick walls. That doesn’t mean high danger shots or goals, but chance to take shots, yes. Some kind of extra opportunity on offense should be there a while with Bedard out, and Blackwell should be one of the beneficiaries. His shot counts are consistent and most over 1.5. in the last 10 games.

Can’t take the OVER or the puckline with the Canucks because they may simply get a lead and then put the clampdown on St. Louis, and it goes Under. Too iffy. I don’t see St. Louis’ win over Calgary as a sign of strength, as the Flames give away the puck far too often and the Blues simply showed up to play, and took some shots for the win. The Canucks are an entirely different beast.

I’m monitoring the Hockey Canada/London Ontario police legal case against 5 players, as that is sure to be sending a shock wave through associated teams this week. As of this morning’s news release, the players names haven’t been confirmed by the police. I’m not joining in on the gossip about that, but some players getting quite rattled and distracted could happen. It’s early stages as of this morning, regarding the news.
