Hi all,

A nice and solid 1-0 night last night. The LA Kings just came out firing on all cylinders right from the beginning and were relentless on their way to a 4-0 victory.

Yesterday was a very interesting day. I saw a lot of people who lost money on the Knights yesterday – but like I said, they had a players only meeting. That sort of thing can really work for some teams. They don’t have the worst schedule coming up so may be worth looking at. If they’re a decent underdog against the Jackets they may be worth the bet.

It’s one of those results where I am certainly looking back at and wishing I had rolled the dice on the Hawks. Have to wonder if Fleury being in there really helped too.

It was a good day of hockey yesterday. Lot of fun games.

Let’s see what we’ve got for today with only two games:

Ducks vs Red Wings:

Ducks are coming in off that Rangers loss. They’ve had mixed results since the Christmas break. Struggling to score a tad except for that Philly game. On a back to back from yesterday.

Red Wings also on a back to back. Since the break they have logged the one win against the Sharks but they did have tough games against Bruins and Capitals.

Ducks just have way too many players out right now to consider backing. Especially with Gibson out. I don’t really have faith in Detroit either so an easy no play.

Blues vs Stars:

I said yesterday that the Stars were a solid home team. They got the win over the Penguins and looked solid in doing so. I actually would have backed the Stars if they stood out more in the home metrics – but they were barely in the top 10 for Corsi, Fenwick etc.

Great home team, piss poor road team. On a back to back against a Blues team playing very well.

Stars will certainly be motivated for this one. That comeback yesterday was huge and it gives teams a lot of belief. They know if they go down here it’s not the end of the world.

The Blues of course are missing Tarasenko. But that didn’t seem to matter against the Caps. Actually I really liked that line shuffle and it looked very good out there.

As always right now – you may wish to wait until later in the day to see if there are any COVID pullouts. We saw Hornqvist a late pull out yesterday for the Panthers for example.

But knowing the way the Stars perform on the road, happy to back Blues in Regulation.

Going to try the over in that Blues/Stars game. Both teams clicking offensively and it feels like Holtby and Binnington may regress a bit.

Also how about dem Kings baby haha. 27 – 2 shots in 1st period. Yikes.

I gave you a hard time about the Kings but ended up tailing you, so thanks, good call. I was on the Rangers after I watched 5 minutes of the 1st. The Ducks didn’t even seem to be trying, fewer than 15 shots and only 3 in the 3rd? Embarrassing.
How about those Avs steaming back. Legit wagon at the moment.

Blues are a solid pick today. Not only is it a b2b for Stars but it’s an early game. Pretty hard to get pumped up when you’ve gotten in late AND have to go to the rink early. However, you know Stars have this one circled after getting shellacked 4-1 last time they played. Meanwhile, Blues are rested, got laid last night and had breakfast at home.

Graeme, with Tarasenko out, might there be a prop opportunity with some value on Buchnevich or someone else who needs to step up. Who do you see in that role?
