Welcome to what could be the last time we write here all season.
Hopefully not. While we both picked the Florida Panthers to win the series and Stanley Cup, we’re also of course rooting for the Canadian team, and more importantly, hoping for a Game 7. Nothing beats that.
After a huge win in Game 4 in OT, the Oilers couldn’t handle the Panthers in Game 5. Florida dominated, and got the 5-2 win to take a 3-2 lead back home.
Pickard struggled big time, letting in 4 goals in 18 shots on net.
If this is the last time we’re writing this season – it’s been a blast, and we’ll be back in October to cover the new season of the NHL. This season has marked the 13th season we’ve been doing tips on here, and it’s been wonderful to log another profitable betting season.
Scott: Pickard didn’t look good making 14 saves on 18 shots. Not sure who the Oilers are going to go with now that Pickard didn’t work out. The Panthers took the 2-0 lead in the 1st and kept going and in the 3rd they outscored the Oilers 3-2 for the win.
Marchand has been incredible with 6 goals in the Finals, Bennett has 15 goals and this team is just too deep to contain.
With this game in Florida and the Panthers having a shot at winning the Cup at home I’m taking them as they were my pick to win the series and as we can see they are the better team.
Panthers win in regulation
Graeme: Well the Oilers did the right thing; they went with Pickard. Alas, it didn’t work out but they had to do that.
It was a poor performance both from Pickard, and the Oilers as a whole. However I don’t want to take anything away from Florida. They are a heck of a team. Yeah they definitely get away with a lot when it comes to penalties etc and are a rough bunch – but they are still such a well-run team. That Marchand pickup has been huge for them as one example.
The Oilers still have a higher xGF and HDCF. Panthers had a bit of puck luck. But it’s primarily the Oilers goalie situation haunting them again.
I think the Panthers are the better team, but man when douing my research today I was reading so much from Oilers fans and there were just so many things sticking out that has me wanting to back them. I mean I like the odds first of all. Panthers have struggled in clinching games. Skinner sometimes shows up when its clutch time. McDavid scored so he’s going to get on a roll. Oilers in the McDavid era are 8-1 at Game 6’s.
Blah blah blah. The phrase “grasping at straws” pops right into my head. But hey, the NHL will take that extra revenue right?
Oilers win
Very difficult to see anything clear with typical approaches, so I’ll go with a player prop, Mr. Playoffs, Corry Perry, OVER 1.5 shots. That looks like a winner no matter what else happens.
Go Oilers!
Yep… I feel bad for the Oilers, Panthers are so damn good. Friggin Marchand, heard a rumor he is going to Toronto! LOL!!
I can’t bet for Oilers and WILL NOT bet for Panthers so i will go Neutral as well.
Bob has had over 26 saves for 4/5 games
Skinner has had over 24 saves for 4/5 games
Damn glad I found this little site this year, hope you do it next season and many more, ill be back!~
I think Panther both have the mental and physical upperhand an Will play in their favour – again tonight. HOWEVER, the first blood tonight Will play into account, and could create some hope for Oilers if they strike first. BUT what we have seen the Panthers have the depth and have been close in ALL the matches (even the two games they narrowly lost). So I expect this to be the last game of the season.
Panthers ml, reg, -1, -2 🏆🥳
Thanks for a sensational playoff. Both the actual Series and the betting! Think I Will from now on call it puckline playoff. This has been the best I ever had. After the CF (as i recall, of 80+ games there were Only 17 that did not get a puckline score!!!!!) and even more so with the finals now.
Thanks for all the input and effort put into this site!
Have a great summer and we’ll catch up in september. 🥳
