Only 3 games yesterday and I had 1 tip.
I had the Leafs to win in regulation against the Sabres. The Leafs were up 2-0 early in the 2nd so of course the Sabres would go on to score the next 4. They ended up winning 4-3.
The Avalanche pounded the Habs 8-4 amd the Stars beat the Kraken 5-2.
A busy night of action with 12 games for us. With it being March Break here for the school kids, I have some things planned for them today so I have to keep these short as we are loading up the car now to head out for the day.
Capitals vs Rangers
The Caps are 5 points out and have gone 4-5-1 over last 10. The Rangers are in 3rd in the Metro and will be there win or lose after this game. They have also gone 4-5-1 over last 10.
On the road the Caps are 17-15-3 and at home the Rangers are 17-11-4. They have played twice this season with the Caps winning both.
I could see either team winning and could make a case for both too.
Knights vs Flyers
The Knights have won the last 3 games and are in 1st in the Pacific with a 3 point lead over the Kings. The Flyers have dropped 3 in a row and are 17 points out.
I want to take the Knights and it would have to be in regulation. That’s not a bad play but the goalie situation in Vegas has me put off.
Canadiens vs Penguins
The Habs are coming off of getting destroyed last night.
In games played where they had no rest the Habs are 5-5.
The Pens are 7-2-1 over last 10. I do like their chances to win this game but it would need to be -1.5. 4 of the 6 games they played this month have needed overtime so I have to skip
Lightning vs Devils
The Lightning have been struggling of late going 3-5-2. They are in 3rd in the Atlantic and points behind the Leafs.
The Devils have gone 7-2-1 including winning their last 3 games and are tied for 1st in the Metro.
With the Devils at the top of the Metro they need to keep winning to move into 1st but the Lightning aren’t an easy game.
Jets vs Hurricanes
The Jets are hanging in there despite going 3-5-2 over last 10. They have won their last 2 game and are in 3rd in the Central with 79 points in 67 games.
The Canes are tied with the Devils for top spot in the Metro. They have dropped the last 2 games. They do have a game in hand on the Devils though.
The Canes head out on the road for the next 3 after this and have some tough games coming up to end the month; the Bruins, the Rangers twice and the Leafs twice.
I think they need to have a big game here with their upcoming schedule.

Wings vs Predators
The Wings are 7 points out and the Preds are 5.
I’m skipping thanks to the Preds being involved.
Bruins vs Blackhawks
The odds for this are horrible. We would need to take the Bruins -2.5. It’s an easy pass.
Senators vs Oilers
Both teams are 6-4 over the last 10 games.
The Sens are 6 points behind the Isles but have 2 games in hand on them.
The Oilers are in the first wild card spot and are 1 point back of the Kraken for 3rd in the Pacific.
The Sens can’t afford to take any more losses at this point. Those two games they have in hand over the Isles will mean nothing if they don’t finish strong. But it’s the Oilers who also need points.
Flames vs Coyotes
The Flames still have a shot but it’s going to take a bunch of luck on their side for it to come through. They are 5 points out and have played 3 more games then the teams in front of them.
The Coyotes have the same record over last 10 as the Flames of 4-4-2.
I want to take the Flames here but it would have to be in regulation. And with them the road team and their play of late I’m passing.
Stars vs Canucks
The Canucks have won the last 4 games against the Stars including the one they played this season.
Both teams are 7-2-1 over last 10 with the Stars on a 3 game win streak and the Canucks 4.
I want to take the Stars here as they won last night. Plus they have only a 3 point lead over the 2nd place Wild.

Islanders vs Kings
The Isles are in the final wild card spot with 76 points, the Kings are in 2nd in the Pacific 3 behind the Knights and 4 ahead of the Kraken. The Isles are 6-3-1 and the Kings 6-2-2 over last 10.
I expect this game to be low scoring so there really isn’t much I like here.
