Only 5 games last night and there was 1 tip.
Had the Panthers to beat the Red Wings in regulation which they did 5-2.
The Sens beat the Penguins 2-1. Dylan Ferguson made his first NHL start are was phenomenal making 48 saves in the win.
With the Panthers winning and the Pens losing the Panthers are now in the wild card and the Pens are in 9th.
The Oilers beat the Sharks 5-4 in overtime to give themselves some breathing room in the Pacific where they now have a 5 point lead over the Kraken.
As usual, it’s a busy Tuesday with 13 games. At this time of the season it’s hard to find bets. The odds are tricky and teams motivation can change each night.
Wild vs Devils
Big game between two 2nd place teams.
The Wild are in 2nd in the Central with 88 points. They are 1 behind the Stars and 2 ahead of the Avs.
The Devils are in 2nd in the Metro with 97 points. They are 1 behind the Canes and 5 ahead of the Rangers.
This could go either way. Both teams know how important 2 points would be in the standings as it could push them into 1st.
Senators vs Bruins
The Sens played, and won, last night. They are still 6 points out of the playoffs. Their schedule is going to make it very hard for them. The Bruins tonight then the Lightning, Devils and Panthers coming up.
As always when the Bruins play they are favored. And with them at home it’s even more lopsided for the odds.
I want to take the Bruins but the Sens have their backs against the wall so they will be going hard in this one. I would have to take the Bruins spread and it probably will come through but the Sens are hard to bet against right now.
Hurricanes vs Rangers
This is going to be a great game.
The Canes are in 1st in the Metro but the 2nd place Devils are only 1 point behind them. Thankfully for the Canes they have 2 games in hand.
The Rangers are in 3rd in the Metro and only 5 points back of the Devils and 6 behind the Canes. They have won their last 4 games and look to be making a push
I can’t find a tip I like here. Both could win and I could make a case for each.
Lightning vs Canadiens
The Lightning are chasing the Leafs for 2nd place in the Atlantic and home ice in the first round. They are currently 3 points back.
The Habs continue to stink. They have gone 1-7-2 over last 10 and are in front of only 4 teams in the league.
I would need to take the Lightning -1.5 here and with their road record, 17-16-1, I just can’t do it.
Predators vs Sabres
Either team gives me reason to back them here.
The Preds are 5 points out and have gone 5-3-2 over last 10 including dropping their last 3.
The Sabres are 6 back and have lost their last 3 as well. But going 2-6-2 over last 10 certainly killed the small postseason hopes they have.
I’m passing on this one.
Panthers vs Flyers
The Panthers won and are in the playoffs for now. They will need to take advantage of games against weak teams like this game to better position themselves.
The Flyers are stinking it up as has been oar for the course for them this season. They have gone 2-6-2 over last 10 and rank near the bottom of the league in most major stats.
They have won 3 in a row and will be playing the Leafs and Rangers after this. With the tougher games coming they need to win here.

Jackets vs Capitals
Much like Graeme, I have trouble betting on games with the Capitals involved and will easily skip this one.
Leafs vs Islanders
Both teams have gone 6-3-1 over last 10 and both have won their last 2 games.
The Leafs are in 2nd in the Atlantic with 93 points in 69 games. The Lightning are in 3rd with 90 points in 71 games.
The Isles are in 7th in the East. There is no way they can catch the Rangers who are in 3rd in the Metro and have 12 more points than the Isles do.
Samsonov is awaiting the arrival of his child but is expected to start. That may change depending on if the baby is late or not.
I feel safer passing on this game.
Coyotes vs Jets
There really isn’t any way I can even think of taking the Coyotes. They have won 4 in a row but there’s no way I’m taking them.
The Jets have gone 4-5-1 and are in the 8th and final wild card spot in the West. They are 5 back of the Avalanche who are in 3rd in the Central but they have played 2 fewer games than the Jets. They are only 2 back of the Kraken for 7th and that’s a more realistic goal for them at this point.
I want to take the Jets but it would need to be -1.5 and with their play of late I can’t do that.
Wings vs Blues
Either team gives me any confidence so it’s another easy pass for me.
Kraken vs Stars
Kraken are fighting to get out of the wild card spot and into 3rd in the Pacific. The have to gain 5 points on the Oilers and they have one game in hand.
The Stars are in 1st in the Central but the Wild are only 1 point behind them. They have gone 7-3 over last 10 but will need to continue playing well as not only are the Wild right there but the Avs are in 3rd also 1 point behind them with a game in hand.
They played each other twice this season and that was earlier this month with the Stars winning both but 1 needed OT.
If the odds for a win including overtime were better I would take the Stars but I would have to go regulation and with the Kraken desperate for points I can’t do that.
Knights vs Canucks
Knights still in 1st in the Pacific but they are trying to hold off the Kings who have the same number of points but have played one more game.
The Canucks are out of the playoff picture but have been a better team with Tocchet. They have won their last 2 and are 8-2 over last 10.
The Knights need to win this game but the Canucks are turning into a tough team. The Knights have been a good road team going 21-7-5. If they want to stay in 1st they need to win as the Kings are rolling going 8-0-2 in last 10.

Flames vs Ducks
The Flames played last night and got beat 8-2.
The Ducks are the Ducks and there isn’t much to say.
The Flames should win this game but with the way they have been playing I don’t have any confidence in them.

Lots of back-to-backs and inconsistent teams today. How the Flames play today will tell us how it goes from here on; either their flop against LA yesterday was strategically intentional regarding the playoff race, or they really haven’t turned a corner and are the weak and fickle offense they’ve been for most of the season.
Rangers are on a heater and Carolina hasn’t looked particularly strong in their last 10 games. The Jets I can’t figure out. Florida should take it moneyline; they may be on a back-to-back tonight but they’re reasonably well rested otherwise and they need points to get distance from Pittsburgh.
Can’t take the OVER with the Canucks as they’ve been better with their new coach.
Tampa Bay Point to score -120
Slight concern with his recent low shot total, but I think he’ll get some opportunities to score. You can also take a chance on Hedman at +390.
