A great night last night as we went 2-0.

The first tip was the Devils to beat the Bruins and they did when they won 2-1.  The Devils still have a shot at the postseason but it’s getting down to the end of the season and they only have 5 games left and they trail the 8th place Flyers by 5 points with the Flyers having 2 extra games left to play.

The other tip was over 5 in the Penguins vs Sabres game and the Pens won 5-4 in a shootout.  The Sabres jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the 1st and the Penguins came back in the 2nd with 4 of their own. The Sabres tied it in the 3rd and the Pens came out with the win in the shootout.

The Hawks lost to the Wild 4-2 to continue their rough play of late, the Habs upset the Wings 4-3 which hurts the Wings chances, the Blues beat the Avs 3-1 and the loss now has the Avs 5 points behind the Wild for 8th in the West and the Stars beat the Preds 5-2.

It’s a Wednesday so as usual there is only a few games on.  We couldn’t find any tips that we could agree on. Graeme liked one and I liked another.

Capitals vs Flyers Betting Tips:

Scott Over their last 10 meetings these teams have averaged 6 goals with the Flyers going 7-3 over those 10.  The 3 games they have played this season have had goal totals of: 5, 7 & 7

The Caps have won the Presidents Trophy and have been amazing all season long.  The Flyers are in a tough fight with the Red Wings for the 8th and final slot in the East playoffs.

The Flyers will be going all out to try and keep ahead of Detroit. To win this game they know they will have to score lots of goals to keep up with the high powered Caps offense.

I like this game to be a high scoring one so I’m going to go with Over.

Flames vs Ducks Betting Tips:

Graeme: This is a very hard one to bet.  There’s probably value in the Flames to win but I just can’t bring myself do that the way they’ve been playing lately.  So erratic.  Instead I’m going to go with Over 5.5 Goals because win or lose, there’s always a lot of goals in Flames games lately.  However this is the type of bet I wouldn’t really recommend – I can’t say it with too much confidence.

5-3 last night (also went for pens-sabres OT but didn’t post it here so can’t count that one)

Tonight i’ll go with:

Senators to win @ 2.10

– This is a bit risky, because the Jets will want to win this game and if the Sens don’t give a F then they will lose. But as long as they care they should win. The way i see it, they had 3 days off to accept the fact that they aren’t making the playoffs and hopefully that time off makes them want to win a hockey game for a change.

Flyers to win @ 2.00

– I love this game from the Flyers pov. Hockey players love challenge and here’s one for them: up against the best team in the league, tied with Detroit in the Playoff race with 7 games to go & in front of your home crowd ? I mean what better can you wish for really. The Flyers should see this game as 10x more important than the Caps, and i think they can do it.

Ducks-Flames Over 5.5 @ 2.10

– Happy to see S&G agree with me on this one. I was seriously considering OT, but look at this Flames record in the Honda Center:

Arto, way to go last night. where did you get the stats above?

Arto Reinikainen

sportsbettingstats.com / useful tool but im sure there are other sites as well

Tyler

One interesting thing about that is they hit the over 8/20 times.

Tobias Pettersson

I was planning on going with exactly this as a triple but was a bit unsure about the Sens pick so i went on here to see your (and others) thoughts, that triple is played now 🙂

My one single is the Over 5.5 in Flyers-Caps.

SanDiegoBruinsD

Arto, I changed my mind and I’ve come around to your way of thinking on the Caps-Flyers game. If Philadelphia wants to make some noise in the playoffs they need to be able to win games like this at home. Philadelphia is one of only five teams to beat the Caps in Washington over the past four months in a 4-3 overtime stunner. They are 8-4 over their last twelve games and Mason continues to be on point in-between the pipes. He has a 1.76 GAA over his last five games and should be starting tonight. Good chance that Caps take the night off. .

Arto Reinikainen

Yeah i mean the Flyers should see this as a Playoff game whereas the Caps have already clinched the Presidents trophy. I doubt the Caps sleep on this game though as they know how good the Flyers have been recently, but still i don’t think they quite match the determination the Flyers have. They have the confidence and form to beat the Caps.

If they lose it’ll come to down to goal scoring.

SanDiegoBruinsD

After thinking about it and getting some more input I decided it was the way to go. I’ve actually made a substantial wager for me on this game.

Arto Reinikainen

Hopefully they pull through. Im a bit afraid of Holtby stealing the game and the Caps stars potting in a few after the Flyers can’t use their chances, but we’ll see what happens.

Eduardo Caldeira

IMO and as a Calgary Flames fan it depends who is in the net… If it’s Ortio a believe it’s gonna be hard to be an over game unless Calgary puts up a ver good offensive game tonight

Like that over 5 of the Flyers and caps

SanDiegoBruinsD

thoughts on PL-either way? Looks like Flames are really nicked up which would tilt towards Ducks.

Eduardo Caldeira

I like the PL it’s hiller the goalie that goes to church lol (always on his knees xD) so the over 5.5 is a good pick also in this case

Eduardo Caldeira

SanDiego Like I said I know well that freaking goalie hiller is a good goalie haha to give cash

SanDiegoBruinsD

thin pickings indeed. However, I’ve placed a bunch of micro bets to make it fun. total of $25 pending

Ducks -1½ +120 – Ducks won ATS 3 of 4 games this season. Let’s see if they can do it again vs a very nicked up Calgary team. good odds here

Capitals/Flyers ov5 -130 – hard to see this game going under 5

Flames/Ducks ov5½ +110 – Again, O/U was 3-1 this season. Good odds here

Capitals(Team Total) ov2½ -109 – Caps have not exactly been a scoring machine of late, but they scored at least 3 in each of the three games vs Flyers this season.

Capitals(Reg 60 Min) -½ +144 – great odds on Caps to win in reg which they did twice in three games vs Flyers this year. Flyers are playing for a lot, but this is always a huge rivalry and Caps will be up for this game and tuning up for playoffs. Don’t expect to see them glide.

Ducks -1½ +120 – not great odds, but Ducks PL was 3-1 in past four games this season and Calgary is pretty banged up at both ends and are without top scorer Gaudreau and contributor Frolik.

Senators/WIN Jets un5½ -125 – O is 1-9 for Jets and 5-5 Sens, both tenders are in positive territory for U. Neither team has been lighting up the scoresheet, surprised this is not a O/U 5 game.

Jets(1st Perd) -½ +160 – Jets have scored well in first

Senators/WIN Jets(1st Perd) ov1½ -110 – first will be a little wild then things will settle down.

Capitals -110 – The better team wins, as they have done all season.

no non-NHL tip of the day.

good luck boys

SanDiegoBruinsD

Looking at tender stats for Sens-Jets I have to go with O5.5. Also, pretty comfortable with Ducks PL: Hiller in net for Calgary with his 3.39 GAA and Ducks PP 23.4% (1st) vs Flames :PK 74.5% (30th). Now there’s a parlay for you guys.

Hey guys, where do you go for your stats? One of the first places I turn to is donbest.com/nhl. They do a great job of analyzing the day’s match-ups. For starting goalie assignments I usually turn to leftwinglock or dailyfaceoff.

Tobias Pettersson

I’ve just started doing serious betting on the NHL, thanks for these sites, i’ve been using Flashscore for now just to get a grasp along with this site and it’s readers.

SanDiegoBruinsD

Holy shit, what a game

Arto Reinikainen

HAHAHAH oh my god
