Well I went with the Flyers to win in regulation against the Sabres. The Flyers trailed 3-0 after the 2nd but they managed to score 3 straight in the 3rd to tie the game and force overtime where they won it when Provorov scored for the Flyers. I mentioned that of the Sabres 17 straight losses only 2 were in extra time and one was against the Flyers and of course this one did too. The Sabres have now tied the longest losing streak in NHL history with 18 games.
The Sharks beat the Wild 4-3 in overtime and for Patrick Marleau this was his 1757th game played which moved him past Mark Messier for 2nd place for games played in league history. He is now only 10 games behind Gordie Howe for 1st all-time. Anytime your name can be mentioned with guys like Messier and Howe then you know you have had an amazing career.
The Penguins won their 4th straight when they beat the Islanders 2-1. The Oilers beat the Leafs 3-2 in overtime in a battle between two of the top teams in the North Divison. Scheifele scored twice and added an assist when the Jets beat the Flames 5-1.
For today we have 7 games scheduled.
March 30th, 2021 NHL Betting Tips
Capitals vs Rangers
At first I was leaning towards the Caps taking this one. But the Rangers have had success against them playing 5 games this season winning 3 of them. I have no confidence in taking the Rangers so I’ll skip this one.
Red Wings vs Panthers
Another game where I was leaning one way until looking deeper at it. The Panthers Ekblad is done for the year with a leg injury, Hornqvist and Barkov are both out too. I’ll stay away from this one.
Devils vs Bruins
Graeme went with the Devils in the last meeting between these teams and that came through for us. I’m not sure I have the balls to do it again. The game was really close and if not for a last second “save” by Blackwood this could have went differently.
Jackets vs Lightning
To get any value here we would need to take the Lightning -1.5 and the Jackets do matchup well against Tampa Bay so no bet.
Oilers vs Canadiens
Not touching this game. The Habs just got off of their Covid stop so not sure how that will affect them.
Stars vs Predators
This is a close game to call. The Predators have won 5 in a row but the Stars seem to give them problems when they play. They have played 4 times this season and have split the games. The Preds won the last 2 but both were in a shootout.
