A nice night with the betting tips last night.

The Capitals vs Rangers game ended up being a push at exactly 5 goals, however our value bet on the New York Rangers at 2.75 odds paid off as they won a hard fought game. That nice start for them was huge for us, because we had them to win the 1st period at 3.80 odds too.

We also went with the Blue Jackets in regulation, and they absolutely dominated the Oilers for a nice win there. The Devils fought well but unfortunately couldn’t get the win.

We won both our bets in the OHL with Owen Sound covering the spread and the game hitting over 7 goals.

If you bet everything yesterday we said, you would have went 5-1 for a nice 7 unit profit on the day.

Extra special nice day for me. I tipped Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson for a Top 5 finish at the WGC over at my Golf Betting Tips website, and after lacklustre first days from both of them, they both moved into the Top 5 yesterday so hopefully they can keep that form up.

Penguins vs Flames Betting Tips:

There are no easy games in hockey – well, except this one. You’d think anyway. The Penguins still hit a few roadblocks here and there but this just looks like a game they will dominate.

The Penguins offense is on fire at the moment, going up against Orto who has a 3.34 GAA and has yet to get a win this season.

This is one of those bets where if it loses you just laugh at how ridiculous hockey can be sometimes.

Penguins -1.5.

Canada: 2.20 Odds at Pinnacle Sports.
USA: +115 Odds at GT Bets
Everyone Else: 2.20 Odds at Pinnacle Sports.

Ducks vs Kings Betting Tips:

The line is 5 for this which is nice. The last 9 games between the two have been 5 or over. This should be a really fun game to watch and one of the best games of the night.

Kings are playing pretty tight lately but against a hot offense like the Ducks we see this as being a much more open game.

A bit surprised at the odds on this one – thought they’d be lower.

Ducks/Kings Over 5 Goals.

Canada: 2.05 Odds at Pinnacle Sports.
USA: +105 Odds at GT Bets
Everyone Else: 2.05 Odds at Pinnacle Sports.

Senators vs Leafs Betting Tips:

The Battle of Ontario is always a good one. Both teams out to prove something and with the latest trade involving Phaneuf, plus the young guys playing for Toronto this has the possibility to be more heated than normal.

We’re going to take Over 5.5 Goals.

Canada: 2.10 Odds at Sports Interaction.
USA: +110 Odds at GT Bets
Everyone Else: 2.00 Odds at Bet365 (Americans: We recommend http://www.bovada.lv.

Experimental Betting Systems:

With only 3 games last night I spent some time on the 1st period system – studying the data and results etc. There’s a few variables that are also producing a slight profit over the season although it’s much tighter – so I’ve added an additional “low confidence” system. I do have low confidence in it though so just a fair warning.

This is part of what I do when I am working on systems – throwing a lot of theories and formulas out there and seeing what sticks.

OHL Betting Tips: Hamilton Bulldogs -1.5. Peterborough/Mississauga Over 7 goals.

You can bet the OHL at:

Canadians: Bodog and 888 Sports.
Americans: Bovada.
Everyone Else: 888 Sports.

1st Period High Confidence: Penguins 2.28

1st Period Medium Confidence: Lightning 2.43

1st Period Low Confidence: Flyers 2.75, Panthers 2.70

Best place for first period betting is 888 Sports or for Canadians, Sports Interaction.

For Americans you can place 1st period bets at GT Bets

Don’t have much to add just feels like an off night … Maybe it’s just me.

One thing I did notice is the Leafs are playing before the Canucks on Hockey Night in Canada (CBC). There’s one thing for sure and that’s that CBC loves the Leafs and hates the Canucks (Western Paranoia?)

But I’ve noticed that if the Leafs have a good matchup or the Canucks have an anticipated game, the Leafs always tend to go long to steal the limelight from the Canucks. Now the game against San Jose is ho-hum, but Dion back in Toronto? That is must see TV. I highly suspect the Leafs/Sens game to go into overtime and cut coverage of the Canucks. I don’t bet OT’s but let’s see what happens.

CBJ/Philly under looks okay?

Canucks upset maybe?

SanDiegoBruinsD

Sorry for being late to the party, I’m working in Hawaii this week (poor me)

Not everything is still on the board, but here are my bets:
Cats-Yotes over 1.5 !st period – both teams have the ability to come out flying and neither the defense or goalies aren’t locks to shut things down.

Sens-Leafs over 1.5 !st period – I’m not sure this will go over 5.5, but I like the first period to be wide open.

CBJ-Flyers over 5.5 – Both teams have the ability to put up crooked numbers. The Flyers are scraping for a playoff spot and CBJ has been playing well and bringing high compete level. This will not be a low scoring affair.

CBJ-Flyers over 1.5 1st period – see above.

Caps-Bruins over 5.5 – Could be the best game to watch today. Bruins are going to be motivated with the best team in their conference in the Garden. Both teams will be playing at playoff intensity and it’s going to be a wide open, up and down game with lots of shots. Two good goalies, but when lots of rubber goes towards the net, things happen. Could be an OT candidate, but I see this one going 4-3. Coin flip on who wins.

Caps over 2.5 – Tuukka isn’t in Vezina form and the Bs defense is leaky. I don’t see how the Caps don’t score at least 3.

I wish I had jumped on the Big Salami over sooner, because there’s going to be a lot of goals scored today.

good luck boys
