Only 3 games yesterday.
The Leafs beat the Sabres 2-1 in overtime with Matthews getting his 54th to win it. Makar scored a hat trick and the Avalanche beat the Wings 7-2 and the Ducks beat the Sens 2-1.
The Sens traded Tarasenko to the Panthers for a couple draft picks. The Sabres traded Mittelstadt to the Avalanche for Byram. The Avs also traded Johansen and a 1st for Walker and a 5th. The Oilers got Henrique and Carrick in a 3 team trade with the Ducks and Lightning. The Knights got Hanifin. The Rangers got Wennberg from the Kraken. I love this time of the season to see what moves teams make to help themselves for this season or the future.
Back to a busy schedule with 12 games tonight.
Capitals vs Penguins Betting Tips:
Good rivalry game here. Both teams are on the outside of the playoffs. The Caps have 65 points and the Pens 64. The Lightning are currently in the last wild card spot with 72 points.
The Caps have already started moving players out and the Pens are expected to follow suit with Guentzel’s name popping up in rumors.
The Pens are on a 3 game home win streak so I would lean towards them to win. But with Guentzel’s name out there as a possible trade candidate you have to wonder if they have thrown in the towel. With that said I want to wait and see what happens before I tip them.
Leafs vs Bruins Betting Tips:
These teams just played each other on Monday when the Bruins won 4-1.
The Leafs played yesterday and won.
The Bruins are 4-1-5 in last 10. 8 of the Bruins last 12 games needed overtime.
They have played each times this season with the Bruins winning all 3, 2 of which required extra time. With this being the final regular season game between them the Bruins could sweep the season series but the Leafs can also avoid getting swept if they can pick up a win. With them just playing a few days ago its tough to call a winner.
Blues vs Devils Betting Tips:
The Blues are in 9th and need to gain 6 points to catch the wild card. They are 4-5-1 last 10 and 14-16-2 on the road.
The Devils are struggling at the worst possible time. They have lost 3 straight and are 3-7-0. The are 8 points back of the wild card.
Both teams have failed to live up to their expectations this season. I would lean on the home team Devils to win here but I can’t with their recent play.
Canadiens vs Hurricanes Betting Tips:
The Habs are coming off of that crazy comeback win against the Preds. They are 14 points out. Their last 3 games have needed extra time.
The Canes are in 2nd in the Metro and are at home here where they have gone 19-8-4. They are 6 points behind the Rangers and 6 points ahead of the Flyers.
I like the Canes to win here. It would need to be -1.5. Looking at some stats the Canes have better Corsi for and against, the Habs are scoring more per 60 and also allowing more but both teams are close in XGF and XGA which had me off of the -1.5 play.
Flyers vs Panthers Betting Tips:
The Flyers are in 3rd in the Metro and have a 4 point lead over the Isles. They’re 4-4-2 in last 10 and 16-10-5 on the road.
The Panthers are in 1st place in the Atlantic and the League. At home they have gone 20-8-2. They are on a 6 game win streak and are 9-1-0 last 10.
With the Panthers adding some depth in Tarasenko they seem to be ready to make another push this year. And looking at their GA/60 numbers they are playing well in that department.

Flames vs Lightning Betting Tips:
The Flames are in 11th place and 8 points back of the final wild card spot. They had their 5 game win streak snapped in their last game. On the road they have gone 14-12-4.
The Lightning are in the 8th and final wild card spot. The team they are chasing is the Leafs and they have a 6 point lead over the Lighting with 2 games in hand.
Would have to take the Lightning in regulation and I’m not feeling it after looking at their stats.
Oilers vs Jackets Betting Tips:
The Oilers are in 2nd in the Pacific and on a 5 game win streak. They are 7-2-1 in last 10 and 18-12-0 on the road. They are 4th in GPG, 3rd in shots, 10th in GAPG and 4th in shots allowed.
The Jackets are 5-5 in last 10, 10-15-6 at home and 20 points behind the final wild card spot.
I like the Oilers here but we would need to take them -1.5 on the road so I’m passing.
Sabres vs Predators Betting Tips:
The Sabres are 10 points out of the playoffs. It’s a long way to go catch the teams in front of them. It possible but it’s going to take them playing almost perfect moving forward.
The Predators are in the final wild card spot in the West. They are 8-1-1 in last 10. They had their win streak snapped at 8 games in their last game.
The Preds are scoring more goals than they are expected too and the Sabres are allowing less. I want to see how they respond after having their win streak snapped.
Wild vs Coyotes Betting Tips:
The Wild are 5-4-1 in last 10. They are 9 points out of the wild card. On the road they have gone 14-15-2. They rank 18th in GPG and 23rd in GAPG.
The Coyotes ended their 14 game losing skid and won 2 in a row but lost their last game vs the basement team the Hawks. They’re 2-7-1 in last 10 and 15-15-0 at home. They rank 25th in GPG and 23rd in GAPG.
With both teams on the outside of the playoff picture it’s a tough call to predict a winner.
Canucks vs Knights Betting Tips:
The Canucks have won their last 2 games and are in 1st in the Pacific.
The Knights are in 3rd in the Pacific but have lost their last 3 in a row. They are tied with the 3rd place Kings for points but have played one more game then them which has them in the 1st wild card spot.
The Knights have brought in Mantha and Hanifin as valuable pieces and I’m sure there is more coming. The Canucks are expected to add too before the deadline. I feel for these teams it’s better to wait until the dust settles from the trade deadline before tipping either.
Islanders vs Sharks Betting Tips:
The Isles are on a 4 game win streak and are in 9th in the East 4 points back of the Lightning who are in 8th.
The Sharks are just trying to get through the season at this point as they are over 30 points out of the playoff picture.
Would have to take the Isles -1.5 on the road which isn’t bad but the odds for that aren’t worth it.
Senators vs Kings Betting Tips:
The Sens are on a 5 game skid and are so far out of the playoffs that it’s time to accept this wasn’t their year. They moved Tarasenko so I’m sure there will be more moves made before Friday.
The Kings are in 3rd in the Pacific but the Knights have the same amount of points as they do but have played 1 more game. They need to win games like this one against struggling teams.
I want to take the Kings here as they need points. But they’re home record hasn’t neem very good going 12-10-7 and we would have to take the in regulation to get any odds.

It’s a 66%, 33% situation, where it’s 33% likely St. Louis wins.I just can’t believe it. Normally the odds on Jersey should be higher, right? I don’t understand how they come up with that. I’ll have to think about it some more.
Okay, 1 unit on Devils ML at 1.52
My actual bet is Devils ML combined with tennis atp indian wells Alex Michelson to win @ 1.33. This game should start about 30 minutes before the NHL game.
I wouldn’t bet on the Devils with those odds, so I told you what I’m really doing this time 😉
