Was a busy night of NHL action and also for trades.
The Bruins beat the Leafs 4-1 to complete the season sweep. The Caps beat the Pens 6-0 and Ovechkin scored to give him 840 career goals which is 54 behind Gretzky.
The Jackets beat the Oilers 4-2. The Flames beat the Lightning 6-3. Meier scored a hatty when the Devils beat the Blues 4-1. The Flyers beat the Panthers 2-1. The Canucks beat the Knights 3-1 and the Wild beat the Coyotes 5-2.
Only 4 games tonight and its the trade deadline. Tomorrow’s tips are going to be short. I don’t get off of work until 1am and will fall asleep around 3. With games staring at 12:30pm on Saturday I’ll be pushed for time
Wings vs Coyotes Betting Tips:
Wings have lost their last 3 games. They are in the wild card and are 8 points back of the Leafs who are in 3rd in the Atlantic.
The Coyotes are 18 points out of the playoffs and basically out of contention at this point.
The Coyotes actually have better numbers in Corsi but also allow more goals per 60. I want to back to Wings here but with their recent play I have to pass.
Wild vs Avalanche Betting Tips:
The Wild played last night and won. The Wilds goaltending has been their issue. They are 7 points out and the teams in front of them are playing better. Plus their record against Central Divison teams is an awful 5-11-0.
The Avalanche have won 2 in a row and are 6-3-1 in last 10. They are in 3rd in the Central with 83 points in 64 games. The Jets are in 2nd also with 83 points but only 61 games played.
The Avalanche are ranked 1st in GPG and have better numbers in Corsi and GA/60. I’m a little worried about the new players and if it will slow them down at all. But they are at home and have been great there going 25-6.

Jets vs Kraken Betting Tips:
The Jets are in 2nd in the Central and tied with the Avs who are in 3rd but the Jets have 3 games in hand. They are 7-3-0 in last 10. They rank 17th in GPG and 2nd in GAPG. They also rank well in shots in goal allowed coming in at 7th.
The Kraken are currently out of the playoffs. They have gone 7-2-1 in last 10 and have won their last 2 games. At home they have gone 14-11-5.
The Kraken are playing pretty well at the moment so this could be a tough game for the Jets.
The Kraken have better Corsi numbers and also GF and XGF but the Jets are fighting for 1st in the Central so they should have a good game here. The numbers has me leaning towards the Kraken but the standing implications leans towards Jets. I have to pass.
Stars vs Ducks Betting Tips:
Stars have gone 4-3-3 in last 10 but have won 3 in a row. They are in 1st in the Central but have 2 teams only 2 points behind them. They are 2nd in GPG and 14th in GAPG.
The Ducks have moved out Henrique and Carrick and have accepted that this season is a loss. They are 24 points out of the playoffs.
The Stars really need to win this game against a team that has struggled all year when there is 2 teams right on their tail. If taking the Stars we would have to take them -1.5 on the road. With the last 2 games for them being against the Sharks and both needing extra time I can’t take the spread here.

Luckily, only 4 games today. As I type this, the Trade Deadline is still over an hour yet. I need time to see how trades will affect teams. Jets just picked up Toffoli, yet the Kraken are playing well. The Hurricanes got Jake Guentzel from the Penguins and Kuznetsov from the Caps. Florida picked up talent. Today will be Tanev’s second game with Dallas, no rush this time, and time to have practiced. Minnesota lost Maroon and are on a back-to-back against about the fastest team in pro sports. Why would Colorado lose this home game?
Gustavsson likely in net for Minnesota and he’s been below .900 in a bad way too often. Colorado is rested, at home a while and has three days off next, so they should be feeling focused and energized enough to take care of business without blinking tonight. Props?
What is “Props”?
Props are other options you can bet besides sides and totals. Player Props can include Over/Unders for goals,shots, points and,assists. Team Props can be Team Specific Over/Under goal totals. Game Props can also be first team to score, goal in first ten minutes, race to x goals and correct score.
You can play these instead of picking a side if you don’t trust a certain team or feel you can better odds than what they are offering you on the money line. Also if say you like Colorado today you can load up on props to get better value or if you feel like certain things will correlate in order for Colorado to win.
