Well I dropped the ball with my tip yesterday.   I went with the Knights to beat the Wild but the Wild won 2-0.  The 2nd goal was an empty netter.   I didn’t realize that the Knights were without Stone and Pietrangelo as they were scratched just before the game.  If I had known that they would have been out I wouldn’t have went with the Knights as Stone and Pietrangelo have been playing amazing with Stone earning player of the month and Pietrangelo having a goal and 5 assists over his last 7 games. Should have made it a conditional pick – from what I was reading early in the morning it sounded like both would play.

The Sens made a late push but the Oilers held on for the 3-2 win.  The Coyotes goalie Kuemper left the game in the 3rd period and Raanta was called in and stopped all 16 shots he faced and the Coyotes held on to beat the Avalanche 3-2.  The Coyotes only had 14 shots on goal but still picked up the win.

The Sharks beat the Blues 3-2 in OT when Kane scored, the Ducks beat the Kings 6-5 in OT and for the Ducks this was the 19th game of the 26 they have played this season that was decided by one goal.  The final game of the night was the Canadiens vs the Canucks and the Canucks won 2-1 in a shootout for their 3rd straight win.

9 games scheduled for us but only one tip. We could only find one tip that we both agreed on and that had good odds.

Bruins vs Islanders

The Bruins aren’t playing their best hockey at the moment.   They have gone 4-5-1 over their last 10 games.  The Islanders have gone 7-2-1 over their last 10 and have won 5 in a row.

The Bruins are without Carlo and Rask so they need to get their shit together or risk dropping even further in the standings.  These teams have played each other 3 times this season and the Isles have won all 3.

The Islanders are also playing incredibly at home going 10-0-2.  All signs point to a Islanders win yet they are the underdogs for this one.  We really like their odds and chances here so we we are taking the Isles.

Islanders win incl OT/SO

Agreed, 2 units here… it’s as close as you’ll get to a “sure thing”… but as we know, sure things don’t exist… happy to look like an idiot if you and I are wrong

Good times for betting? The half-way point of the NHL regular season arrives for most teams, just about this weekend. Typically, the playoff race gets serious just after the All-Star Game break. With a shortened, 56-game regular season, we’re seeing some teams show signs of wanting to make the most of this season, or at least prevent catastrophe when they show persistent failings other than related to COVID (Montreal and Calgary turfing staff). Between now and May 1 should show the usual scramble for playoff positioning.
