It was a tight Game 3 in Florida. Both goalies channeled their inner Hellebuyck and let in some soft ones in a 9 goal thriller, with the Panthers getting the win off a lucky bounce.

A crucial Game 4 will take place tomorrow. Will be interesting seeing if that is a momentum swing for the Panthers. Bob really needs to step up although he made a couple of solid saves in overtime which he may carry on to the next game.

Leafs realllly need Auston Matthews to step up, and show why he is worth so much. Feels like every playoffs he doesn’t and the excuses about injuries roll out. Suck it up dude.

A massive game for the Winnipeg Jets, and Hellebuyck had a shut out which is awesome. I feel bad for the shit he has taken during the playoffs. I backed the Jets to win that series in the hope that he could come good, so I’d love to see it for that reason too! Although I felt the Jets defense were a big factor in that one too.

Two games tonight.

Hurricanes vs Capitals Game 3

Scott: After being heavily outshot in game 1 the Caps were able to keep the shot count within 7 shots.

They lookedch better and comfortable playing their style of game. They weren’t getting stuck in their end. McMichael scored his 4th of thr postseason after recovering a puck that went off of Gostisbehere’s face.

Wilson has been great. His shot count over the last 4 games has been 3,1,2,3. The game with 1 shot was the game the team was held to 14 total.

Wilson over 1.5 shots

Graeme: Must admit I was quite surprised by the last game and how easily Washington adjusted. Goaltending certainly helped them too.

Feels more like a blip to me – but it means we get better odds on the Canes, so I’m going to roll with that. My bet here is based on reactive odds due to Game 2 and pushing it into what I feel is a value spot which we certainly wouldn’t have had if the Canes won that last one. Canes in Regulation

Oilers vs Knight Game 3

Scott: The Oilers are up 2-0 in the series and now head to Edmonton for 2 games. Pickard has been great since he came in for the struggling Skinner.

I didn’t see this series going this way which has been all Oilers. I do think that if the Knights are to win a game it has to be this one. They are far to good of a team to be the first team to get swept in this year’s playoffs.

Graeme: I’ve been happy to ride Edmonton and their momentum. This is a bit of a tricky one though because I wasn’t impressed with either team that much in Game 2, and the Oilers were quite fortunate at the end with that no-call on the blatant tripping penalty.

So it makes it feel a bit more 50/50 which means the Knights might be worth the play based purely on value.

But I was never a fan of betting the Knights on the road in the regular season, and their defense and goaltending just can’t stop the Oilers offense.

So to me this is a very 50/50 game, and based on that, by pure value the Knights are maybe worth the play. But I just like the Oilers momentum, offense etc and while I’ve seen enough to know the Knights can at times match the Oilers, I haven’t seen them show that they can best them.

Props that look intriguing:

McDavid OVER 2.5 shots
Hanifin OVER 1.5 shots
Strome OVER 0.5 points

Oilers at home, up 2-zip; Vegas will be forced to open up at some point, probably in the third where the Oilers are getting huge points and the speed is maximized. That also gives me a full game OVER 5.0 bet to add as a parlay odds booster. I’m expecting great hockey in that game. Both teams are spreading around the goal scoring but the usual suspects are still collecting assists. Hanifin is getting a lot of ice time and gets shots too.

Strome of Washington (sounds like an apple orchard!) to get 1 point, having got at least 1 in 9 of his last 10 games, seems good here.

I can’t see other bets with the Caps/Canes, with the Canes scoring low and the physical playoff style. I agree with Scott that Wilson prop bets are tempting but I’m holding off. Wilson is throwing himself into plays and being effective but also pulls goofy bully stunts that don’t help the team, so I’m out with the jury on that one.
