Stuart Skinner had a banger of a game last night, as he managed to record a shutout as the Oilers beat the Knights 3-0.
That was incredible.
Skinner at times can go in hot streaks and Oilers fans will be praying that is going to happen here. Not to take anything away from him – but the Oilers defense was a big factor there. Held the Knights to an xGF of 1.96 and 23 shots, which was the lost xGF of the playoffs for the Knights.
In the other game, the Canes took the 5-2 win to lead the series 3-1 and will go to Washington hoping to wrap it up.
Just one today which is nice – I like always having one game to focus and watch on. Two games of playoff hockey is too much – especially those late night West Coast games. Hate them.
Stars vs Jets Game 4
Scott: I said I was going to back the Jets until the Stars figured out a way to break Hellebuyck’s confidence. Well that took one game.
The Stars looked great. Rantanen has been the best player in the playoffs and he registered 3 more points, Harley 8 points in 10 games as a defenseman, Johnston has 4. Just the more I watch this team they get more complete.
Jets can tie the series up with a win and make it a best of 3. It’s time for Connor, Scheifele and company to step it up. If they lose this game I fear that it might be it for the Jets.
Jets win incl OT
Graeme: Things were looking okay for the Jets until a brutal 3rd period. To be fair to Helly, Stars racked up a big 4.54 xGF in that game and had the most high danger chances of the playoffs thus far. They were just on fire.
I truthfully am feeling completely lost on this series. I don’t think I can take hte Stars as they are floating around 1.74 but I don’t know if I can take the Jets as I am concerned for Helly.
Eh. The Jets HAVE restrained the Stars twice defensively – that as just a bad outing for them. Nope – that’s not enough to convince me damnit. Let’s go with Granlund Over 1.5 SOG. No real reason other than hey it’s been a quieter two games for him so maybe he’s due.
interesting and somewhat useless facts…
I am with you two… I dont see anything for this game other than the Jets adjustments to win are easy as far as i am concerned and they need to win otherwise this is over for them. I may play a Helle under 22.5 saves and that is it
That was definitely something I noticed with Rantanen and how player props are difficult – as I had backed him on the over on shots and then yeah he got covered well like you said and it went under. Just one of those little factors that again can make it very difficult to figure out player props.
100%
I can’t bet on this game, I can’t figure out how the Jets offense will show up on the score sheet. The Jets have scored 1 powerplay goal in 13 chances, while the Stars have scored 2 powerplay goals on 7 chances in this series. Considering that powerplays are more like shooting galleries than full 200′ game action, it leaves big questions about Winnipeg, when Dallas is taking twice as many penalties as the Jets.
The Jets are in a situation that dictates that they deliver their most adrenaline-packed performance and reach a higher plateau. They’ve done it before. Defense and depth scoring. But Dallas is showing too much talent and drive to think they can’t win this. I can’t see where bets are enticing.
Jets have lost ALL road games in the playoffs. By MORE than one goal in ALL of them. Dallas are one of the best home teams.
Stars ML, reg and -1 🥳
Great quick analysis and they all hit! Good shout.
LOL!! Holy shit dude! Apparently he got the shots on goal.. and was due for goals as well. ??? Hahha
Yeah I am actually testing out a bit of a new theory so it was neat to see that one come in. Whether I have props for tomorrows games I might post additional ones in the comments just based on this theory.
Thats hilarious.. I usually come back after the games play out to see how close you guys were in your speculation and dude covers the shot props with goals lol. Surprised Scott took Jets based on how the home teams have played in this series. I had Dallas ML, in Reg and team total 2.5 with Ranty to get a point and they all hit!
I’ve done best in these playoffs going off my gut and it says Edmonton and the canes wrap up the series tomorrow.
Much like in NBA no one saw Boston losing to the Knicks and Cavs losing to the Pacers but here we are.
