The Leafs live another day! It was a poor performance from Florida, who had a chance to wrap the series up at home, and now they have to go to Toronto in a critical Game 7.
If Marchand breaks their hearts man…..
Much to the chagrin of many Leafs fans, their captain stepped up (and won us both bets in the process!) as he finally inserted himself into the playoffs.
That game takes place tomorrow night. Today, we’ve got Game 6 of the Stars vs Jetse series as the Jets randomly showed up in the last game.
Stars vs Jets Game 6
Scott: The Jets found a way to pick up the win and force a game 6. They had lost the previous 2 games by a combined score of 8-3 but came back to win 4-0.
This was Hellebuyck’s 2nd shutout of these playoffs and this round. They followed up the last shutout with 2 straight losses. They can’t afford that this time.
I want the Jets to win the series but I’m not sure they can do it as they would have to win 2 games in a row to stay alive and 3 to win the series. They have won 2 in a row once in these playoffs and that was the first 2 games against the Blues.
Ehlers has been playing a big part for the Jets and if they are to win here then he will surely have a good game.
Ehlers over 0.5 points
Graeme: I just cannot figure out these Jets. Two wins, both 4-0 blowouts. Then just meh performances other than that.
Helly shows up, or the offense shows up. But just not consistently.
Let’s look at the metrics and maybe make a play based on that? By the overall metrics for this series – Jets better CF/60 and FF/60. Jets actually scored more, conceded less, creating more etc. I mean shit all the metrics are on the Jets side, and they did have backs against the wall and get the win last time.
If we look at the playoffs as a whole it’s a similar story except Stars with a better SCGF/60 and GA/60.
Eh. Based on that, I guess value on Jets. I personally don’t see it myself, but I’m fine making a data bet. I’d like to mention momentum, but unlike the Oilers, I just don’t have that vibe with Winnipeg.
But hey let’s trust the data.
Jets incl OT
With the death of Scheifele’s father overnight, it’s not known if Mark will play, but in that situation, if he plays or not, I’d expect the whole team to rally together. The shock and sadness will gradually hit, but already prepped for a road game tonight, I would suspect that lots of emotion is channeled into supporting each other and putting on a grand performance. All bets are off, but I’m expecting an extremely focused and relentless Jets performance. They need to stay loose and sharp, skate like mad and take over. Dallas will be there, but in this situation, some things are up in the air.
That can be an extremely galvanizing event… @western …. shit… the + on Jets makes me want to bet em ML now.
On another note… the SCGF/60 is an interesting stat i dont think ive ever paid attwntion to. Is it a ratio of goal for per scoring chances? How are you to interpret that one?
