Another tight game in the Jackets vs Bruins series, with the Columbus Blue Jackets taking a 2-1 lead. Bobrovky set a new career high save percentage in that one for the playoffs, with .973. Impressive stuff.

In the Sharks vs Avs game, Couture scored a hat trick as the Sharks ran out 4-2 winners in what was a big victory.

Looking forward to the Game 4s!

For now, we turn our attention to the other two series.

The Carolina Hurricanes, minus an injured Mrazek, are at home as they host the New York Islanders. The Canes are up 2-0 in the series.

The Dallas Stars are 2-1 down and look to tie it up before heading back to St. Louis.

Here’s our thoughts:

Hurricanes vs Islanders Game 3 Betting Tips:

Graeme: With Petr Mrazek out, there’s no better chance for the New York Islanders to win.

As far as I can see it’s not 100% confirmed yet. In saying that, Curtis McElhinney isn’t a bad backup to have by any means. I rate him fairly highly in the world of backup goalies.

Mrazek has been playing incredible. If he plays he won’t be fully healthy or up for it. Might be a bit shaken up. If he doesn’t play – it’s a boost for the Islanders.

Either way this is a must-win game for the Islanders. I think the Hurricanes have proven they are the better and more hard working team, but it’s do or die for the Islanders with the Canes goalie situation at the moment.

0.5u on Islanders to win incl OT

Scott: The Canes have a 2-0 lead and the series now moves to Carolina for the next two games.

The Islanders need to take advantage of the Hurricanes injuries and pick up a win here. Goalie Petr Mrazek, van Riemsdyk and Maenalanen join Svechnikov and Ferland on the injured list.

With all the injuries the Isles need to win this game. They can’t go down 3-0.

Islanders win incl OT/SO – 0.5u

Blues vs Stars Game 4 Betting Tips:

Graeme: This is an incredibly hard series to call. We take a more casual approach to the NHL tips in the playoffs but even with that, I just can’t lean one way or the other on this one.

I think Stars win and tie the series up but I have absolutely zero reasoning to back that.

No Bet for me.

Scott: The Blues have been amazing on the road during the playoffs. They have played 4 games away from St Louis and have won all 4 of them.

The Stars have already been in this situation once in these playoffs. They were down 2-1 in the series against Nashville but came back and won the next 3 and the series.

With the Blues road success you have to like their chances but the Stars have already faced this situation and come out on top. This is a tough call.
