Well yesterday sucked big time for the tips.  I lost all 3.  With the way things have gone this season I should have went with only one tip.  I figured that if I went with 3 maybe I could pick up a nice winning night and grab some momentum.  Boy was I wrong. Sorry everyone.

I had the Leafs to win in regulation against the Habs but the Habs won 3-2 in overtime when Caufield scored the game winner again.  This was a huge win for Montreal as they are now tied with the Jets for 3rd place in the North.

Speaking of the Jets, I had them to win in regulation against the Sens but the Sens won 2-1.  The loss pushed the Jets losing streak to 7 games.
The final tip was the Predators to win in regulation against the Jackets.   The Predators won but it was in overtime 4-3. With the win the Preds are still in 4th.

The Bruins beat the Devils 3-0 and clinched a playoff spot. The Sabres beat the Islanders 4-2.  With the Bruins winning and the Isles losing, the Bruins moved into 3rd place in the East with a 1 point lead and a game in hand on the Isles.

The Capitals beat the Rangers 6-3.  Wilson punched Buchnevich in the back of the head when he was down and then in the ensuing quarrel he body slammed Panarin.  Wilson picked up 16 minutes of penalties for his actions but was back in time to score an empty net goal.   Wilson will be suspended and Panarin is now done for the year.  Sucks for the Rangers to lose Panarin but they have been eliminated from the playoffs.

The Oilers beat the Canucks 5-3 and became just the 2nd team in the North Divison to clinch a playoff spot. McDavid picked up 2 goals and 2 assists and now has 91 points.  He still has 6 games left to reach 100 in the shortened season.  It is just incredible how amazing he has been this season.

The Blues beat the Ducks 3-1.  The are in 4th in the West Divison.  The Kings beat the Coyotes 3-2.  With the Blues winning and the Coyotes losing the Blues have a 5 point lead over them with 3 games in hand.

There is one spot left in the Central Divison with the Preds and Stars fighting for it,  the East is set,  the North has 2 spots left but the Canadiens and Jets have a decent lead for the remaining spots and the West has 1 spot left with 3 teams left fighting but the Blues have the edge for the final spot.

After 14 games we are back to a normal night with 5 games.   All 5 games are back to back, head to head matchups so no tips today.

Penguins vs Flyers

I expect the Penguins to pick up a win after losing yesterday to the Flyers.  Its a pride thing as the Flyers put 7 on the board so the Pens were embarrassed.  But no tip.

Blackhawks vs Hurricanes

The Canes won yesterday and could use another win to strengthen their lead in the Central but the Hawks keep games close so no idea who wins this one but would lean towards Canes.

Islanders vs Sabres

The Sabres won yesterday so I expect the Isles to respond in this one.   The Isles were passed in the standings by the Bruins so they’ll be looking to regain their position and I expect them to win this game.

Bruins vs Devils

The Bruins are catching fire at the perfect time.  They clinched a spot and have won 4 straight.  They have only a 1 point lead on the Isles so they will be looking to maintain that lead and I expect them to win this game easily.

Oilers vs Canucks

The Oilers clinched a spot and although McDavid says he doesn’t care about reaching 100 points in a 56 game season, I think he really does and how could you not.  The Canucks have lost 5 in a row.  I expect the Oilers to win this game and push the Canucks to 6 game skid which would really hurt their slim chance at the postseason.

So no tips but I’m leaning Hurricanes, Penguins, Islanders, Bruins and Oilers.

Western Rattlers

Little time today to check into this, so going light.
To WIN: Edmonton, Islanders, Bruins

This seems like yesterday’s list. A lot of back-to-backs today, so things could go WACKY. But the Canucks, Devils and Sabres are just not major threats this year, and the opposition teams are on a roll at the right time. Not going for Carolina, same reason as yesterday, they’ve had problems with Chicago before.

How are the Isles letting the Sabres back into these games?
