Well the Knights might feel a bit hard done by last night. It was a penalty at the end that wasn’t called, and the Oilers got the win. Sucks when a game ends in that fashion, but the refereeing has been poor all playoffs (as per usual). Teams just need to try and adapt.

Washington got a big win to tie up their series with Carolina, in what was the second lowest shot count for the Canes throughout the entire playoffs. They still had the chances and the high xGF and Corsi etc but also rocked up their lowest HDCF of the playoffs.

Leafs vs Panthers Game 3 today as they travel to Florida, and Jets host the Stars in Game 2.

Panthers vs Leafs Game 3

Scott: The Leafs are getting help from some of their depth guys which makes things easier for them. Pacioretty and Domi both scored their 2nd of the postseason.

Woll had a decent game stopping 25 of the 28 shots he faced. With the next two games in Florida I would expect them to come out swinging.

Has been a high scoring series so far so I’ll back that

Over 6 incl OT

Ontario: 2.02 Odds at TonyBet

Everyone Else: 2.01 Odds at BetOnline.

Graeme: I do like the appeal of the over as well. The xG isn’t really there for it but I see the merit in it – especially with the penalties racking up. Very close to that play.

But eh – at the odds we’re getting for the Leafs, I’m happy to back them. They went on the road twice in Ottawa and did the job. Florida are going to be feeling the pressure. Toronto have looked up for it. And it’s just very solid value. I’ve liked a lot of what I’ve seen from the Leafs in this series even if I hate to admit that.

Leafs incl OT

Ontario: 3.03 Odds at TonyBet
Canada: 3.03 Odds at TonyBet
USA: +195 Odds at Bovada
Everyone Else: 2.95 Odds at Bet365 (Americans: We recommend http://www.bovada.lv

Jets vs Stars Game 2

Scott: Niederreiter opened the scoring to have Rantanen score a natural hat trick. Scheifele speed after but that was all the could get.

The Jets were in this game they just couldn’t control Rantanen so I do expect Arniel to come up with a different game plan.

Can’t head to Dallas down 2-0.

Jets win incl OT

Ontario: 1.82 Odds at TonyBet

Everyone Else: 1.76 Odds at Bet365 (Americans: We recommend http://www.bovada.lv

Graeme: Rantanen is on a hot streak, I’m happy to bet on that. Rantanen scores a goal.

some times its hard to not believe the mandate isn’t right from the NHL and Bettman to alter officiating for controversy and ratings..

I feel for the players cause they have no idea what’s right or wrong and coaching has to adapt after an entire season, refed a certain way.

Leafs just keep finding a way… truly unreal to watch. If Matthew’s finds his aim soon (he is playing great in other ways), this is going to end well for Toronto.

Risky bet.

Denmark – U.S.A

The Danes will play in front of their home crowd, and in the opening match they will have to face the world hockey powerhouse – the U.S.A.

The U.S team was last year’s quarter-finalist in the elite World Championship. Coach Ryan Warsofsky is counting on something more this year, although the task will not be easy.

Both teams have not played each other in the previous elite World Championship. The last time they competed in this competition was two years ago, when the United States team won 3:0. However, the Americans scored goals in this match only in the third period.

The Danes last won their elite world championship against the U.S.A in 2010, defeating them 2:1 after overtime. This scenario should also be expected now, but the US team is the favorite in this confrontation.
Denmark will fight on their own ice, but the final victory in this clash will be won by the U.S.A.

Tie in regular time.

Good luck !

I’m looking at some kind of parlay that looks like 100%, possibly including two of these (I rarely bet a 3 or 3+ pick parlay).

Toronto: full game Over 5.0
Lean: Winnipeg game: 3rd Period Over 1.5
Toronto reverse puckline of +2.5 (gets x1.40!)

Plus, props are looking plentiful:
Rantanen Over 0.5 points and Over 2.5 shots
Nylander: Over 0.5 points
Marner: Over 0.5 points
Knies: Over 1.5 shots

I have a better feeling of the Toronto/Florida game being somewhat readable for betting, than the Jets/Stars game. Nylander and Marner have hit a new level and the Leafs supporting cast have risen right along with them.

Both Winnipeg and Dallas can sometimes score at will, yet both can lock down on defense, with the Jets being better at that. I expect a big effort for 60 minutes out of Winnipeg. They lost half of Game 1 by being slow to start, and had no difficulty talking about that. So I can’t pick an Over/Under there, or props, except Rantapanic, who is everywhere, sets up plays and also goes to the crease to finish things off. That Over 0.5 points is available, is a nice surprise.

One observation about Rantanen I like is that he seems to be doing these things out of smarts, fitness and ambition, I never get the idea “that guy’s been inhaling Sudafed, has been lucky and will be totally burned out next game”. So I think the performance prop bets should pay off. I think he’s in the skills class of the top 10 players in the league, it’s no fluke.

I want to see how Winnipeg responds, and also, how Dallas performs from here on and if they’ll take a step up somehow, whatever that means, which is up to them to discover. They have a huge supply of talent, as does Winnipeg!, and yet also Benn, who loves the penalty box at the worst of times.

Some players take a little time to settle in to a new team while others hit the ground running right away. The Rantennen trade now seems ridiculous to me… they have found his combinations and he is just starting to ramp up Im sure.
