Still on the wrong side of variance at the moment. We had Over 5.5 goals in the Rangers vs Islanders game. The two teams combined for 65 shots on goal, yet only 3 of them went in. It says something that the top 2 stars of the game were both goaltenders.

Frustrating loss, but looking back at the game I still believe it’s the right pick and just part of the wonderful thing called variance. The Sharks know what that’s like, as despite pounding the Oilers goal with 59 shots they lost 3-0. Absolutely sick performance from Scrivens, who may be ruining the Oilers #1 draft pick streak!

Lot of hockey tonight. My Habs take on Bruins in a game I’m rather nervous about. Penguins take on the Kings, Sharks hope to bounce back on their Alberta road trip in Calgary, and the Leafs look to dominate the Panthers. Very interesting night of hockey for sure.

Bruins vs Canadiens: Bruins to Win In Regulation

Getting 1.83 odds on this. As much as it pains me to say it, you have to go with the Bruins here. The Habs have been woeful lately.

Bruins have been killing it offensively this season and have scored 18 goals in their last 3 games.

While the Bruins often have trouble against the Habs, and we all know Price can break out a game winning performance – the smart move here is to back the Bruins to beat the Canadians.

Capitals vs Blue Jackets: Over 5.5 Goals

Big game for the Jackets. After that hot run in early January they have lost the last 3 outings. Hey, much like our NHL Tips for the month!

These two usually match up well. The Capitals offense is on fire in the last 2 games after a few poor outings, but the Jackets offense has been fairly solid and they’ll want this even more to stop a 4th in a row loss.

Penguins vs Kings: Penguins to Win

This is a big game and it’s a pickem in terms of the odds, but I like the Penguins to do the business.

The Kings have a great defense but they’re just not looking good at the moment, and are going up against an obviously excellent offense.

I am going with the Penguins to beat the Kings tonight.

Variance for sure. Every blog or capper I follow that had any hockey picks yesterday had the over on Isles/Rangers. Oh well…

BetNHL.ca

Yeah we always check a few other tips sites etc just to make sure we’re not missing anything and pretty much everyone we checked had Isles/Rangers over. The only real concern(other than variance) was the cold weather but that didn’t seem to affect the game much.

Flyers28

Some other games offering up a great price, devils over stars and caps to win. Curious what your thoughts are in those. I kinda like the devils to win this one bit its solely based on gut, can’t find any convincing evidence.

Would probably lean towards Stars to be honest. Washington odds seem pretty accurate – very close game and 2.1 seems about right.
