It was a busy night of NHL action last night with 10 games and we had 3 tips and went 1-2.

We had the Kings to beat the Canadiens and this was much closer than I thought it would be.  The Kings did win 3-2 but it needed OT and thankfully we went with them including overtime.

Went with the Flames to win in regulation against the Sharks but the Sharks won 4-1.  This was a close game as 2 of the Sharks 4 goals were scored empty net.

We also has the Bruins -1.5 against the Senators but they were unable to cover winning by a single goal 3-2.  Bergeron scored to break the tie with just over a minute remaining in the 3rd.

“Against the Devils I would say I like the Panthers to win and I was leaning towards tipping them.  But I want to see how they do after taking that loss and on the 2nd half of a back to back” is what I posted yesterday about the Panthers game and am I ever glad I stayed away as the Devils won 7-3.

The Wings did surprise the Oilers and won 4-2.  The Canes vs Lightning was a low scoring one but Carolina got back in the win column winning 2-1 in overtime.

The Blues vs Jets game needed extra ime where the Blues won 3-2 in a shootout.  I had mentioned that I thought this would be a close game as their records were so similar.

Back to a slow night with only 3 games.  I’m ok with that as I have an appointment I need to get ready for.

Leafs vs Flyers  Betting Tips:

The Leafs had their win streak snapped at 5 in their last game and will look to get things back on track in this one.  The Flyers have had a decent year so far going 6-2-2 and are 3-1-1 at home.

I’m not sure how the Leafs will answer in this game and the Flyers are no pushovers so this should be a great game.

I could see this game going either way.  With the Flyers at home and having success there I was leaning towards picking them but I’ll skip this game as it’s anyone’s guess which version of the Leafs show up tonight.

Predators vs Stars Betting Tips:

Both teams come into this game after losing their last.  Their records are fairly similar this season with the Preds going 6-5-1 and the Stars 4-5-2.

This is another game where I feel it would be safer to just skip it.  They are similar teams and it’s tricky to pick a winner from this game.

Wild vs Coyotes Betting Tips:

The Coyotes did pick up their first win of the season in their last game and they are still at home.   But the Wild come into this one winners of their last 3 games.

To get any value on the Wild we would need to take them -1.5.  Looking back at their last 5 games they won last game against the Isles, had 2 overtime wins and before that they lost 2 in a row.

Will the Coyotes build off of that win?  I doubt it but I feel that with the Wild not exactly on fire at the moment it is safer to avoid this game.

Lean: full game Over 5.5: Minnesota/Arizona
Two of the most penalized teams in the league, both teams just off 2 or 3 days off, should be high energy, except for the fact the Wild play Vegas tomorrow and may be focused there. However, this is a Division game, while Vegas won’t be. Will the Wild show up? Will they win by just shutting the Coyotes down as others have? Both teams have leaky defenses. Not sure I can bet this. If Arizona scored more, I’d jump on it.
